Moyes had an obsession with Man Utd players! Apart from Lingard he wanted Maguire, Mctominay etc etc! I'm only surprised he didn't want Bobby Charlton exhumed to sign for us!

I think it's a flawed proposition. Firstly, aside from Kilman, we don't know for sure who was leading on a given signing. So it's tempting to make assumptions based on the point you are trying to make. I hated the Foderingham signing, but I'm not going to apportion it to anyone cos I simply don't know. Secondly, we were trying to sign AWB long before Loppy joined us, so why the rush to apportion it to him? To me, a close relationship between Tim and Loppy is the very best outcome we can hope for. I hope it continues to be productive.

I agree, I’m pretty sure in past videos both Geo and Gonzo have said that Julen did care which RB we signed being AWB or KWP, Mavropanos has have also been great this season, which is the reason why Todibo hasn’t gotten into the team yet

Feel the short answer to first question is that the recruitment is now a joint effort with mutual agreement between the relevant people ie TS MN JL. Whereas last season it was dm way or the highway. So wholly the process is far better

If roles are believed then Steidten will have been technically responsible for all our signings. No doubt consultation would have taken places between Lopetegui and Noble, again if you believe the roles these all play in recruitment, something that no doubt should be applauded as working as a management team. Whatever your take on this management group and how they function together, you have to agree the transfer window has been at least a 9/10 achievement.

The way we have been spending over the years i believe we could do it one day, maybe after 2 or 3 years. Just need to be regularly finishing in European places every season and eventually up our wage bill so we can offer a few spots on the roster, for 2 or 3 worldclass players and give them a 200k a wk package. Our club is making progress every year financially, we are in the top 20 riches clubs in world football, its just a natural progression as a club. As of now, maybe we cant do a Leverkusan but i dont see why we cant aim to do a Villa. COYI

I remember Moyes being criticised for not making assurances to players, people would say just lie, slightly lol but he wouldn't and we lost a few signing due to this - Onana (of Villa, previously Everton) being one I remember - r.e; your Guilherme remarks... I dunno the right answer in what the right thing to do is in situations like this...

I don’t know why we assume that one person is responsible for each signing. Scouts never get a mention, it’s implied that players aren’t discussed by our recruitment team & ironically Sullivan seems to have no involvement now that the calibre of players have improved

Creating a narrative that Kudus and Alvarez were club signings makes the overall point from Gary a bit irrelevant. Hanging on to the fact that Noble liked Kudus or Alvarez making them 'club' signings and not Steidten is foolhardy. We don't know whether Steidten identified Kudus on the list he brought in, but what we do know is that his contacts and his ability to convince the player, after physically following him around Europe for a week or two, got the deal over the line. To not credit Steidten for at least Kudus, if not both of these signings, is just wrong tbh.

Irrelevant point but I think it’s time for Bowen to hang up his boots in the England squad with the likes of Saka, Palmer and now Madueke getting call ups. He’s not gonna get any game time and those lads are years younger than him. Better to have his full focus on West Ham

I think we can be pretty sure Loppers specifically wanted Kilman and insisted upon his signature. These were the only circumstances I anyone was going to 40m for him. Looks good though.
