House of the Dragon is truly a HBO show because they take their time and have layer storytelling, so when the big stuff happens it has maximum impact. The big moments mean more and are more iconic because they take the time to properly build to those moments.

As Daemon enters Harrenhal you can hear young Rhaenyra call out to him! It is a faint whisper and I didn't even catch it the first time but it's a nice touch to the spookiness of the castle.

I think Helaena is forgiving because she knows Alicent will have her own pain to come

Currants are just small red berries, used mostly for sauce and jelly. They are not raisins or grapes. And it's pronounced simply like the word "current". Your fancy pronunciation reminds me of calling a carhole a garage, Mr. Fancypants.(You know the reference, Moe would be ashamed 😉) My family has a currant bush in our backyard that has been there for over 70 yrs. We make jelly from the berries. It's delicious.

So, no one seems to be talking about it but I think the Bats are an elusion to the fact that House Whent eventually holds Harrenhal. House Whent is Katlyn Stark's Mother's house. They are supposed in the books to have giant bats that they ride. Like dire bats or what ever, like House Stark has wolves. I think that was a nod to the books and the original Show, saying, Katlyn's Mother eventually will be from here. I Was soooo hype that Rhaenys Shipped Alicent and Rhaenyra. She was like, Listen, she's still yer gurl. She still is the sane one. Go talk to yer Gurl and save the kingdom from these dumb asses. I was so hoping, that the two Queens would get together and be like conspiring together to low key save the realm. I wish Alicent had been like, yeah, that's what I Thought your dad Said, and I can not ask Aegon to stand down, cause he's crazy, but maybe us together can stop this. I loved the Aukward apology between them. I Loved seeing them together and talking shit out. It was so excited. I Loved it. I wish there was more of those two being low key in contact even in this stupid fight. I Just love the idea that they were Besties to the end, and Misunderstandings and men get in their way. I hope that is how it goes. I liked the elusion by the White worm, that Rhaenyra will eventually kidnap Alicent. Supposedly holding her hostage, and I hope that Alicent is like retired from the fight. Siding with Rhaenyra, and that is just the spin they put on it. Like she defects to Rhaenyra's side, and is a "hostage" but Aegon's court can not say she is there of her own volition. I want her to actually be on Rhaenyra's side, and history did not record any of that correctly. That's what I want from this show. Like, history was wrong, and these two Friends were friends to their ends, and I hope it is Alicent dying, that pushes Rhaenyra to violence. I know it's some deep hopium but I want it. I need more Rhaenys, Alicent and Rhaenyra. I need them. I am going to be so sad when Rhaenys goes. She is too good for this world. I need more Alicent and Rhaenyra. Black Aly was so worth it. The actress who is playing her was Sheela from Glow and I am freaking here for that! I enjoyed the scene where Cole asks for Alicent's favor. It was a nice moment between them. I am pretty sure her brother was sent by Alicent to watch out for Cole. Because she does not want him to die. That's what that looked like to me. I was glad a lot of things god cleared up between the Queens. Like, Amon killing Luc, and Daemon being to blame for Alicent's grandson. I like that Alicent is like, "I may have at times been cruel, but never untrue." I love that Rhaenyra finds out that Alicent really for real thought she was doing Rhaenyra's Dad's bidding by making it Aegon. Because how could Alicent know about the prophecy. I Like that Rhaenyra knows that Alicent was always true and that she did try to honor Rhaenyra's wishes.

Rhaenyra being sister Mary Clarence and trying to go to Alicent made no sense for me. I can understand her logic in theory but after blood was spilt on both sides and the WAY it was done….there’s no coming back. Plus Alicent had no control of her children when they were kids…what control could she possibly have now with the addition of dangerous weapons (aka dragons) ?!?! That scene was a bit ludicrous for me…..

Remember last season when that kid Willem Blackwood asked for Rhaenyra's hand in marriage, and he ended up fighting with Jerrel Bracken and the death of the latter. Would that be one of the reason these two families hate each other?

Ok, if y'all thought that raw chicken wing with an eye patch was packing... Well let's just say he wasn't. Shit was small.

I liked this episode, but it felt kind of narratively scattered and...jaunty even? At times, I felt like I was watching a show more steeped in fantasy and traditional fantasy storytelling than HotD has previously been. It was much closer to a Wheel of Time or LotR feel than anything this show has done thus far.. The comedic casting of Alicent's brother, the modern American-sounding accent of the woman foretelling Daemon's death, the silliness of Rhaenyra's spy craft, sucking on a dildo...it was all so weird and funny.

This season has been slow for me. Ep 1&2 only had action the last 5 minutes.ep 3 baela on her dragon was great to see but that was it DRACARYS THOSE GREENS ALREADY!!
