Doug Van Gundy was one of my favorite quarter of a millionaire contestants since he became the first one to reach that level and he was full of entertainment on the $125,000 and $250,000 questions!!
0:44 oh wow Leszek Pawlowicz was in the fastest fingers? He was the 1992 Jeopardy Tournament of Champions winner, and he eventually actually got to play Millionaire 16 years later in 2015 (five years after this video was uploaded) and won $50,000.
It's not perfect, but it's interesting to hear the combination of the classic "WWTBAM" music and the newer version sort of playing in the background. Also, this is the first time I've seen Doug Van Gundy's run. Thanks!
There was an huge space between shoots and if you pay attentio to what the host is saying, he just says that now h will have 4 lifelines and they will give them ask the audience again
wogacelli They researched the "Iron Horse" question and found the magazine Doug was talking about, thus making motorcycle a plausible answer and the question ambiguous. He got the audience lifeline back out of fairness for the discrepancy.
@boogyman10o1 I think he's referring to Michael Shutterly, the first contestant to win $500,000; there were no million-dollar winners in the August 1999 series.
The reason he got ask the audience back is because on the $100 question he thought there was once a magazine called iron horse. Then the judges said he was right. He did give them the correct answer, but because he wasted the lifeline, they gave it back to him.
