Also, nice demonstration here where Linda doesn't say her two hunches, uses the 50-50 and it still ends up being them. As Regis explained to Norm, it wasn't random at the time (it became an RNG system later) but it wasn't done at set: the question writers picked the most likely wrong hunch and that was locked in. Game show regulators attest to it, WWTBAM was the gold standard of compliance.
The sound effects during Fastest Finger seem distorted, but not due to speedup like I know GSN does, it's different somehow. Maybe they were just different at this point. Ronald obviously was in over his head, but FWIW, he did "win" a free return flight and 3 nights hotel stay in New York for he and his wife just for getting on the show, all 10 contestants + guest did every episode with Regis, ABC covered it. To this day, no game show has covered that many flights and hotels since. That on top of the $1000 he just squeaked to, and getting to meet Regis and be on TV, and it explains why people who seemed lost got on the show: it was worth it, even if you embarrass yourself. Shame he seemed so shy, I think he'd be happier if he embraced the situation and laughed about it, but maybe he really did just go for the free trip and was shocked to win FFF.
