The theft of Picasso’s Weeping Woman from the National Gallery of Victoria in 1986 was one of the biggest art heists ever pulled off in Australia. A group calling themselves “The Australian Cultural Terrorists” claimed responsibility and made several demands before returning the painting. The identity of the group’s members remains a mystery.
