I dont know why people still debate the whole Scholes, Gerrard and lampard argument. Unbiased players that have played with them always say Scholes. And most of the time its best player they have ever played with not even just out of them 3!

Wrong. Many have said Gerrard, very rarely does anyone say Lampard. Beattie in this example, was in the England squad in 2003, meaning Gerrard had just turned 22, so he’s not played with a prime Gerrard. Prime Gerrard is obviously clear of Scholes as a player, no debate.

@@jackbell3355 Zidane said Gerrard was the best player in the world at his peak and better than Scholes and Lampard its also funny how every England manager wanted Gerrard and Lampard in midfield and always shifted Scholes out on the left. Pirlo, Maldini, Totti have all said Gerrard was there toughest opponent. Wayne Rooney said Gerrard was the best player he’s played with despite playing with Scholes at club level. Want me to go on

I remember watching this gentleman in Premier League football on ESPN Star during his Southhampton football club days ! That was like 22 yrs ago 1999-2000 and he seemed to be a very promising talent back then.

@@jh55x I still watch football, the game's gone a bit too soft over the past few years and has a whole lot of players who'd go down if they were poked. Plus the instant elation on your team scoring a goal has now been replaced with anxiety over toe nails and armpit hairs being looked at for offside.

Scholesy one of the most debated as under/over rated. For me he was class.

There is no debate, if you held the view that Gerrard and Lampard were class then Scholes is at least their level. Like now England have an abundance of great Midfielders, whether they can actually play together is the key. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🤞🏻

Definitely world class. Only issue I have is that if he wasn’t in the United team and in any other team maybe other than Barca, would he of been as good? As they suited his style. I say Gerrard is best purely because he could do everything there is to do. If he went to Chelsea or Madrid when he could of and then won the leagues and UCL’s he could of, I don’t think there’s any debate he’s the best
