Jehanne la Pucelle was not humble ! It is well-known , she had a temper, which was certainly necessary during that period ; she had the best clothing, spurs of gold, 2 armors with 4 swords, which are all known incuding s short German Messer, other weapons and 12 horses, half of them , Medieval war horses. She dedicated her adult life to her 4 missions, when she left her Barrois region for Chinon. She requested the Fierbois sword which was certainly Bertrand du Guesclin old sword. This is an interesting story by itself. She wanted to be near the Reims Cathedral 'alter, at the Dauphin's Coronation ceremony, howeve, r she was denied and was sent to the nave of the cathedral amongst the other guests. Surely, Charles VII wanted all the glory for himself ! This particular incident is also known from the Vigiles of Charles VII, painted at the end to the 15th century, around 1490. With the Franquet d'Arras's incident, that infamous pirate of the Loire Valley we can certainly better understand her personality. Again, an interesting story to read.
@@RayB1656 i've seen you everywhere on youtube video about jehanne. can you recommend me sources where i can learn more about her??? i'm curious but i dont know where & how to find good & reliable sources about the saint.
@@o.602 excellent comment, yet very difficult to answer. As you know, there are thousand books concerning the amazing Jehanne la Pucelle' story, books written from the late 15th century in Medieval French , to today's modern versions , most of them often different or evolving. It is said there are more than 20,000 books on the subject. There are a few Medieval hand-written Latin documents, however they are rare and not really accessible...and even some of these are probably false, like the one of Perceval de Boulainvilliers , advisor to Charles VII. Quite frustrating. There are many ''Jehanne''.... the classical Jehanne with the Saints ... (see the conclusion of the Vatican,1969 ) the political Jehanne, who was abused by the French and English Aristocracies the poor, pious, non-educated peasant, Jehanne who fought at Orléans ... the well-educated Jehanne, doing Jousting at the Court of the Duke of Lorraine, speaking a few dialects, learned warfare tactics, from her friend René d'Anjou, son of Yolande d'Anjou, the Jehanne with only a white banner, without any skills, a ''mascot'' on a white horse, the Jehanne with a mental illness and her visions ... a military & effective Jehanne who defeated and arrested Franquet d'Arras with ''modern'' tactics.... Conclusion = quite confusing. In reality , very few historical reliable sources ! With thousand of books repeating themselves , also, every authors for centuries bringing their own interpretation . A hundred year ago or more, Jehanne was about 23 year old when she died in 1431, today, she is a teenager....( probably, adds more drama to the story !) What to recommend ? How to understand these events ; maybe to study the 14th and 15th century Medieval World...the people and their struggles. To learn about the individuals who were involved with Jehanne la Pucelle ; who was really the Dauphin, Yolande d'Anjou, certainly the mastermind, the angular stone and her son René d'Anjou, Bishop Regnault de Chartres and his nephew Guillaume de Flavy, which were at Compiègne and really disliked Jehanne, George de La Trémouillle putting Jehanne under ''house arrest'' at his Sully-sur-Loire' castle, Her father who was the ''prévôt'' of the region and working under Robert de Bandricourt....an important man, not really the poor peasant often described , Agnès Sorel, the mistress of Charles VII, a beauty of the Medieval world... where she came from, what was her real role.... with Agnès Sorel, the Hundred Years war would probably have a different ending... who was Marie d'Anjou, his wife ... the serious English claim for the Crown and how it was deflected politically in 1455/56... This story is an on-going research, bringing new info every year and a slowly changing story ! Similar to Science, patience is required. Will I ever find the truth about the story, not in my lifetime !!

We all know the Sumerians Mythology is not real , however, many religious events in the Hebrew writings or the Christian Bible, creation of Man and the Deluge, for example, comes from the Sumerians. Remember the Epic story of Gilgamesh !
In my mind . Joan Of Arc is definitely a saint . I personally believe she was chosen by God to save France . Other than by the gift and power of God could a teenage girl accomplish what she accomplished . Makes me proud to have French blood running in my brains . I am a retired Marine/ soldier . Joan Of Arc is a inspiration to me . As I still consider myself a professional soldier today .
Hear me! Heroic Spirits, mighty warriors who have gathered here! Though we may be rivals or from completely different eras, we must stand together now! Not to prevent the Incineration of Humanity, but to open a path for our Contractor! My True Name is Jeanne D' Arc and in the name of God I shall become your shield! -St. Joan of Arc ( The Grand Battle of King Solomon's Temple ) Edit: No seriously thanks to Fate Grand Order it boosted my interest to look on the historical characters and your videos about King Solomon and this is one of them. 😊
Before yesterday; I only knew of her name. Yesterday, I watched The messenger: the Joan of arc story (1999) - I still can not stop thinking about it, her journey with God, and all they accomplished. Incredible.
As an Englishman and an old soldier, I have to say that Joan fought bravely and did not deserve her awful end,she was abandoned to her awful end by Charles the V11,a man who did not have one ounce of the courage that Joan had, and I hope that Charles the V11 never knew another days peace or ever had a good night's sleep for his abandonment of Joan and that if there is a heaven,Joan is there.
She was not abandoned by the king, normally at this time when you capture someone important you ask for a ransom. But the English wanted to destroy the symbol and the hope of the French, so no ransom... The king sent two mission to rescue her but it was a failure.
She also had a bloodthirst and when they wanted to take a peaceful approach, she went out to battle. She would constantly jump into battles without planning (because she's protected by God, she does what she wants). By the end she became a liability to the King.
I was terrified when I watched the movie scene when Milla Jovovich was burned alive as Joan of Arc and it was even more horrifying when I watched ISIS burned a Jordanian pilot alive. I can't imagine how painful it is to be burned slowly
@UCISbw4_h9F-tgNCMwuoFxdg I can tell which one is CGI and which one isn't. I've also watched ISIS' gruesome decapitation videos and their horrific mentality is obviously from Joan of Arc era
sad its "normal" hesus is a celtic god, born in 834 bc, if she fight for the real jesus, she was a enemy of the church, and call a "witch" we the orginal christians ........
@@hesusdanu170 What? Joan of Arc story was always correct. Her mission on earth which was given by God was to free Orleans from the English and once her mission was done, she was promised freedom from earth to go to heaven which is the ultimate freedom, and that was her death.
Came here because of a show called Clone high, and stayed because of the beautifulness of the story. (I'm not a crazy fan/stan of the show I came from or something, it's just I absolutely love history and that's all. Also that is the reason why I noticed the show)
*GREAT VIDEO* of one of the greatest women of all time. My ONLY criticism of this video is you didn't tell us what were the misunderstandings were that came from the judgment of her trial. 😓
They make her sound crazy, "hearing voices" The Bible says, My sheep hear my voice and they follow me. I believe the holy spirit can appear audibly. She just sounds like a sweet little girl who loved God and so he used her.
You have a great narrating voice, and this is a great video but please consider working on your pronunciation of terms before recording (theologians, piety, Poitiers, Orleans, and more). It would increase the quality of your finished product. 👍
"One life is all we have to live, and we live it, as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are, and live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying. More terrible than dying young." - Saint Joan of Arc
I myself was born near his place of birth I know doc his history since childhood, recently I made my family tree and discovered that most of my ancestors lived in the same region in the 15th century and that some maybe one known gives me chills ...
Joan the maid achieved so much at such a young age she was truly inspirational, she suffered an unthinkable end for believing in freedom of her country and the people of France, she is a symbol of true courage and to this day 600 years on she has never been forgotten they will never be anyone like Joan again she is a true saint god rest her soul.
😭😭😭 for 20 straight minutes. I don’t know what it is, just as I don't know the truth of this narrative, but even just the name moves me. Be well, little Joan 🙏💙🤍❤🙏
I notice your name is victor... Victory. Its prophetic. And same, I remember when I heard about her as a little girl, I was so inspired and had so much awe at such a corageous woman and I felt the same even her name. It reminds me how Jeremiah says in the bible a fire shut up in my bones.. wanting to come out. and the story of a prophetess Deborah who lead army if men and overcame their enemy.
On most issues this video is consistent with the consensus among historians who have studied the subject in depth, except for issues such as the idea that she "led" the army (which she denied ever claiming when the issue was brought up at her trial, and the Royal records show the actual command structure). She said at her trial that she never fought, instead carrying her banner. Also the idea that she dressed in "men's clothing" is badly misleading since this just refers to the soldiers' outfit that she was given to wear, first by the soldiers who escorted her to Chinon (according to their eyewitness accounts) and later by the Royal government. Several eyewitnesses said she told them she continued wearing it in prison because she could securely tie the outfit's cords through eyelets in the tunic to lace the different parts together so her guards couldn't pull her clothing off. She was finally forced to give this clothing up on 24 May 1431, then (according to the bailiff) the guards took away her dress and forced her to put the soldiers' clothing back on so they could claim she was a "relapsed heretic", which was the reason she was condemned to die, not the reasons given in this video. As for the comment that she was never liberated from prison as promised by her visions: during the investigation of her case in 1455-1456 (which this video mentions), the appellate judge commented that she was "liberated ... from the prison of the body by martyrdom and a great victory of patience [or patient suffering]".
She did her mission and was promised freeedom after doing it. And that's exactly what happened, she freed Orleans and died which was her freedom from earth to go to heaven. Most or all of the times people die early and fast is because their very good or evil people. So that God will take them already. And all those people that are saying she is psychotic is very jealous of her that they don't have that.
@@brandonsnyder9950 She heard and talked to the voices. Plus I don't think during those times people knew of mental disorders so they couldn't think of her of that. Also there's no way someone psychotic or crazy cab do all those things she did. That's even more than being a savant. And lastly, what she said matched with everything she did. That's definitely not someone crazy.
This is not true ! I respect your title as a ''video games genius"" , however, History may possibly not be your best ability ! Jehanne la Pucelle had 4 missions....1st, saving the city of Orléans , 2nd, to make the Dauphin of France, King Charles VII, third, to liberate the city of Paris from the Bourguignons/English Alliance, using military force, and lastly, to get the brother of Charles VII out of prison, in England ... why, the brother of Charles VII ?
Her mission was not to free Orleans but to lead the Dauphin to his Sacre in Reims. Such was the will of God because only Charles VII was the legitimate heir of France. The video tells us that the French were not pleased about having an English pretendor. It is true but the answer goes beyond this point. The Salic Law rules the devolution of the French Crown. The English King had therefore no right to become the ruler of France. God established the rightful King through Joan of Arc.
@@philippedault7625 God if He exists, doesn't take sides, only Man does. He certainly doesn't care about trivial political nonsense from warmongers or saber-rattling belligerents . We do NOT know if the dauphin Charles was the legitimate heir .. her mother said no, the Armagnacs said yes. Who to believe after 600 years ? As for the very old Frankish Salic Law, it was used by both English and French aristocracies when it did served their political agenda.
All this Praise...too little too late as Joan canNOT be UNburned. Actions, especially ill willed & malicious actions, have dire...life altering consequences. A true & sincere lesson that's VERY relevant today.
The flag is interesting and some other finding in the video. I just visited the Joan d’arc historial & other Joan d’arc museums but they never mentioned this stuff, I wonder if these fable like things were added on afterword like her choosing the king among the crowd of nobles to make her seem more blessed & magical
Freedom has many definitions. To every person in the world the idea of freedom is different. I can tell you that she did receive her freedom. It's a freedom that is not defined Earthly but rather heavenly which is the best kind of Freedom that one could ever achieve because once this life ends our true selves leave the body and we go where we are told to go due to our actions while here where all tests are taken and all challenges are challenged.
Jehanne la Pucelle was not really looking forward to ''receive her freedom'' . She wanted to live , like everyone else ! She was caught by the Burgundians at Compiègne ; it was an entrapment set-up ! A stronger Burgundians force , hiding behind small hills were waiting for her an early evening. Who provided the info ? Your answer is there.
@@Dav1d15196 humans were allowed free will and it's the Free Will of humans that decided her fate. The law is that God would not intervene when it came to Man's Free Will. Humans will always want to blame things on God, but at the same time humans do not want to be controlled.
@@Dav1d15196 God does not believe that none of us matter to him. We are all technically connected by energy and the higher power known as God is the greater energy that we come from. Since we all have free will and have to make decisions on our own, God is not allowed to disrupt our free will, since it is an agreement and also something that every human being wants. Every human being wants so much freedom and free will. The consequences of our free will come afterwards. This is why we are all considered brothers and sisters as we come from the same place. It's sad when any of our brothers and sisters would want to hurt us. It's sad when any of our brothers and sisters would want to insult one another. I love your videos but i was wondering if you had any sources backing up this claims. its for an essay and your videos helps easily describe the history behind joan of arc.
You don't have to be a Christian to believe that there was a higher power at work in Joan of Arc's mission. I'm not a Christian and I have faith that Joan's life is the result of her listening to a Divine calling.
This poor girl. Personally. I’m not really sure how much God cares about who rules countries, but the French, no question, did her wrong. I mean, seriously?

His mother was the sister of Charles IV. England was also ruled by the french Plantagenet dynasty. He had could have become king if there weren't any other male family members that could become king.
I've been told that St. Joan escaped the execution and has returned from the Pleiades. I just visited a statue you used in this video of her. I feel a powerful angelic+++ energy there and believe in her more than in the heresy known as Christendom within this realm.
Jeanne d'Arc died a martyr. Some angels are fallen and deceive mankind. Christ is the only way to God. Do not trust your feelings when it comes to matter of the Spirit. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

Totally wrong ! The banner was the work of a Scot, a painter living in Tours, Hauves Poulnoir. His name was Hamish Power, the French couldn't pronounced his name, therefore he was called ''Poulnoir'' .
Joan of Arch was swarthy complexion meaning dark brown skin. That's an important part which you missed in your whole presentation. She didn't look like any of the images that portray her as white skin which you have used. Please read the descriptions about her complexion and her siblings
We know exactly where Jehanne la Pucelle came from... ...from the Barrois region, her father knew Robert de Bandricourt , since ther father, Jacques was the prévôt of the area. Yolande d'Anjou was the mastermind of this story She was the authority, not the Dauphin ! Even if Ysabeau of Bavaria was the biological mother, it is Yolande d'Anjou who took care of Charles, nearly all his life !
"Freedom" is subjective. You could say, by being executed, she was freed...when the alternative would have been perpetual imprisonment. Death is a type of freedom. They werent specific about the type of freedom.
