It's funny that Jeff says "You weren't even born yet" when the one guy say Marciano. Rocky's last fight was 10 years before Jeff was born.

I think you have to look at the records. Rocky Marciano and Joe Calzaghe were undefeated. Not only that, but they fought quality opponents (not just tomato cans). That's gotta count for something. I'd put these guys as #1 and #2. A perfect record is a perfect record. There were "better" technical fighters (Willie Pep, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, etc.), but none were undefeated.

The boyo from the valleys! he beat all that stood in front of him over a long career. He was that good he played with Roy Jones jnr. People say Roy wasn't at his best and was getting on a bit. But Joe was also getting on and he had busted hands. He had a few close shaves with Kessler and Mr. Hopkins, but still came out on top. Praise to his Dad Enzo too - who surprised the boxing world and still doesn't get the credit he deserves. Joe was as fast as a cat, as accurate as a sniper and amazing footwork.

Joe calzaghe easily and probably one of the best boxers of all time. The argue that Hopkins was old when they fought is bullshit, Hopkins was in tremendous shape, fought in his homeland and calzaghe totally outclassed him, with a serious reffere he should have been deducted at least 3 points for holding, headbutting.. that was no boxing right there.

Greatest is all down to personal opinion and style The greatest boxer for me was terry marsh when I was growing up as teenage boxer at light welter weight In present times it’s GGG Who in his prime would beat almost all in any time period Canelo is as white as anyone Loma Ricky Hatton The list goes on Micky ward In fact I prefer that race is kept out of it There are so many tough and brutal powerful boxers coming out of eastern Europe who don’t get the chance to wipe the floor with with most western boxers but they don’t get the chance due to personality issues and not being able to be marketed

Best white fighter probably was Jimmy Wilde given his record, he's ranked 3rd hardest puncher by ringside magazine, started off in boxing booths fighting all comers (fighting men twice his size and dropping them) -137 pro fights wins, 99 won by KO, and 3 loses, but had a valid excuse for each of those loses, taking into consideration his boxing booth fight it was said he had close to a 1000 fights.

The only difference between American and European fighters until recently is the major spotlight and fame was always with the Americans. So many of the best european fighters never got the credit. Ali fighting cooper is an example and in his own word one of the hardest hitters he ever fought. Plus eastern Europe couldn't turn pro during the golden era and in amatures they where destroying usa guys even to this day.

There's only 2 before I even watch this - WILLIE PEP #1 and JOE CALZAGHE #2 - and before any armchair numpty fans say about Joe C, he was the most AVOIDED fighter of his generation. Hard to beat a nutty celt who throws 1200 punches a fight and can't get KO'. BUT Willie Pep NO way, as his mate said 'You couldn't hit him if you threw a bag of rice at him.' Being a Mayweather channel I wonder if Floyd ever got any influence from Willie as his footwork was INCREDIBLE for its time, regardless of race, this is boxing, the best are the best as Willie was BANG UP THERE!

Boxing is driven by economic conditions. From the 1920’s - 1950’s every urban area had poor and working class white neighborhoods. In these communities there was a great deal of violence which is why you had some very tough white fighters. Just like today, boxing was a way out for many of these kids. Here are a few fighters: Rocky Marciano, Jake LaMotta, Tony Zale, Willie Pep, Carmen Basilio, Max Schmeling, Max Bear and Gene Tunney. More recently you had several white Eastern European fighters like Andrew Golata, Klitschko brothers. Others that come to mind are Joe Calzaghe, John Duddy and Kostya Tszyu. Again, boxing is driven from tough economic conditions which is why African Americans, Mexican’s, Spanish and Filipino fighters have excelled in the ring over the past 5 decades. Just my honest opinion.
