It's notable that some islands appear very particularly as meteor impact craters. Specifically, Smuggler's Bay is quite obviously an impact, most likely through a mountain or rock formation that once stood where the arch now does, and forming the shape of the island. Crescent Isle is also one such crater, the meteor itself still being visible should one swim to search for it. Additionally, I've always thought the portal that the Sea Dog Tavern resides on was somehow involved in the origin of the Shroud. It's clearly somehow important, given it signals with lightning each new arrival to the Sea, and it looks sort of like it's been dissolved by a significant amount. Had the Shroud originated from it, it's quite possible that it was what corroded the rock to look how it does now, instead of like the other carved stone structures across the Sea. It's also perfectly in the center of the original regions, which would make sense if the Shroud is slowly moving outwards to consume more of the world, much like a very slow shockwave from an explosion. And though that portal has lost anything that would serve as a key or power source to open it from this side, we don't know that the other side is in the same state... -unless it's the other rock arch literally like 3 nautical miles away for some reason- It is also quite interesting that the Shroud is supposedly corrosive, and the ancients had knowledge of how to make metals immune to corrosion. Perhaps they wanted to create ships or structures immune to it?
The ancients are all probably stuck on an island within the shroud, one of their own might've betrayed them and stole the shroudbreaker and returned to the sea of thieves, and without the shroudbreaker, they can't make their way back to their homeland, thus the reason why we're able to access the shroudbreaker

Hello Falcore, I'm not sure if you are aware of this but there is a skull painted with the gold hoarder symbol on it at discovery ridge on the west side of the island in a cave im not sure what it means but I thought you would like to know
Loved the vid Captain, by the way wasn’t Briggsy talking about a cure to the skeleton curse in the cursed rouge tall tale? Briggsy was a accomplished adventurer do you think she found the ancients?
That's a good idea, but her journals scattered around tribute peak debunk this, as they tell us that she took a cursed piece of treasure from the belly of gold which cursed her, and then the gold hoarder found her in the caves and told her there was a cure to ensure her loyalty. Although, maybe the gold hoarder wasn't lying, and there is a cure to the skeleton curse.
Falcore just realised something these certain skeletons which look like they’ve got bags on their heads only spawn during ancient vaults and on shores of gold
I hope we can see a tall tale in the future where we have to meet with some mermaids and visit the underwater ruins of the ancients, to get this artifact we can use to help defeat flameheart.
This is more of a side theory, but I'm reasonably sure that the comets that fell are the source of the Shroudbreaker and star stones. The Stars of a Thief book makes mention of a great battle in the heavens, and in several places describes the stones as falling into various places.
I haven't played SoT in a while but I still watch your videos as I like to keep up with the story for when I come back to the game. Briggsy was looking for a cure to the skeleton curse, so I wonder if she might have known a lot about the ancients. Too bad we didn't ask her before smashing her to pieces😕
Gonna have to say that the ancients seem more inspired from Polynesian Cultures with slight Central/South American and Bronze-Age (Egyptian) motifs Don’t know why you went straight to Vikings, they weren’t the only sea raiders.
Have you seen mermaids refuge it has an underground ocean area and some cave paintings with what looks like the ancients symbol for shroudbreaker and a big snake
Ever since falcore dropped the bomb that he gets some things in sea of thieves earlier than even insiders people, He's been able to troll us with little hints and lead us a stray so that we think something is something else and he can watch us bash our skull together trying to find it
Here's a theory. At the Flameheart event, Flameheart says " I have crossed beyond the Veil, and it gave me...... vision...." Maybe the veil is that portal we see in a picture of him , remember? That picture that some thought was Flameheart Junior but that dev post at Haunted Shores confirmed it was Senior. Maybe that's what cursed him with the Skeletal Curse, it gave him power and vision beyond death
in the sea of thieves announce trailer when the camera looks at the kraken painting you hear a loud thunder sound and some bells right after. I haven't heard either of these sounds in game as far as I know.

Nobody knows who the ancients are... but how cool would it be to run into a surviving ancient in the Sea of Thieves. Perhaps they would give you special quests that unlock the secrets of the Sea of Thieves. Perhaps a secret upside down world that you can access by flipping your ship upside down like in Pirates of the Caribbean
I’m pretty sure a new trading company that is like the merchants is coming to the game. The purple glow is a hint of what is coming in another update and purple has been a color associated with luxurious trade and immense wealth throughout history. Some sort of rich company will come into the sea of thieves but I have no clue what they will do.
I also think this is a possibility. Falcote has speculated about one of the isles (the one similar in layout to the Merchant Guild symbol, forget which it is) becoming a post for increased merchant activity, like Reapers' Hideout was developed. One of the salesmen at a Pirate Emporium lets slip that the PEs are bankrolled by the big outside trade guild that is trying to find an entry into the SoT. It is entirely possible that increased trade or even a war between the traders and SoT pirates is in the works.
I think it is related with the new changes that are coming in 2021... but not sure what it is, maybe related to the ancients... you can hear in the cyrptic outro in "FUTURE OF THE GAME" vid this "this was never our land..." I can imagine some new lands, but I don't know... below the water?
The theory that the meteor hit the wilds, the kraken is an alien, and that the meteor formed the shroud could be plausible? I mean, the kraken has been said to have the power to part the shroud, and if it came from the thing that made the shroud it would make sense? Idk im only speculating
Hmmm would be interesting. 🤔 Like maybe they were all cursed but with the mermaid curse and now there are 2 types of this curse. The one for mermaids we know of and see when we fall in the water of which are recently cursed pirates, ane the one afflicting the old ones. Maybe the ancients started as just mermaids but soon turned into full blown mer-people like the creature from black lagoon. 🤔 Would be an interesting new AI. Like maybe some are friendly but other cursed tribes hate pirates and so every so often instead of a shark in the water it will be a mer-monster that will start swiping at you or maybe use a spear on you till you die. 🤔 Then maybe under water dungeons that go from land to water battles both above and below water. Would be cool.
Perhaps the ancients are currently in the game. It’s entirely possible that all of the skeletons we fight in the game are what’s left of the ancients and they’re trying to kill us and drive us out of their home known as the Sea of Thieves. Lol it’s anyone’s guess.

What if the ancients disrespected their gods and in turn they turned them into the first skeletons? The ancients would beg for forgiveness so they started giving tributes to them and eventually created the cursed chalice? I'm wrong for sure but yeah it's just a theory....... A GAME THEORY
I always look at the stories and mystery of the ancients and yet maybe the girl in crook's hallow could be one hiding cause it trying to hide or scare the players of the island...
I bought this game and tried it but after the 3rd time getting sunk with 4 guys spamming "god you're so trash you should just k*ll yourself" in both the chat and voice I decided to just cut my losses (6 hrs played time so couldn't refund) and just delete it. I thought AbsolutePixel was just joking when he made the video about Toxic gamers in SoT but no, its just as bad as every other MMO out there and it sucks that its up to us to report the shit since theres no way for Rare to detect it. Would be nice if there was an easier way to do the reports as well, I wouldn't have known how to do it if not for AP's video showing me how since Rare only tells you about it if you search their website.
AbsolutePixel just exposed that Sea of Thieves partners don't actually get much more info than insiders. Pretty funny considering you were claiming you know what's going on in future updates lol
