Guys as a Palestinian who studied the history of the land I see here many people don’t know about the history and who are the Palestinians. This is due to the limited resources available in english. Does it ever cross your mind Why Palestinians have their own accent ? Why Palestinians have their own culture? Why the people in Sinai and Negev have similar dialect and culture ? Why do we have blonde Palestinians but it is very rare to find blonde Saudi Arabian ?

Canaanites were children of Ham, as were the Egyptians. Israelites were children of Shem as were much of Mesopotamia. A major difference among them was skin color to separate them(tower of Babel).

The Caananites of the Iron age became the Israelites of the Iron age. Their was no invasion and massacre of Canaan by the Hebrews but a slow progression of monotheism by the Yahwehist cult that in turn became the Jewish faith.

Archeology is a science. Science starts with a notion and tries prove it is wrong, if it fails to do so the notion is considered to be true until proven otherwise . Religion is a belief system that tries to prove it is right, regardless if there is proof or not. So to use the term archeology here is false. When I search for Cannanites history, I'm searching in a literal term, not a figurative term. Dabbling in fantasy and ferry tales helps no one but the snake oil salesmen.

If you are looking at the question of who the Canaanites were though the lens of the what is written in the bible, then you have already failed. The ancient Israelites were in fact a sect of Canaanites who broke away from them. Yhwy was a minor Canaanite deity who this sect believed to be their most sacred god due to El, the father of Yhwy, granting him dominion over a small section of land "the promised land" so to speak. Due to this, in that region, he was now "supreme" in that region and thus this sect of Canaanites began to worship him as the supreme god above all others, hence why "though shalt not worship any other gods before me". The bible was not written as a monotheistic text as the origins of Jewish faith, and thus the Christian and Muslims faiths by default, were not monotheistic until after the conquest of the Persian Empire and the mixing of Zoroastrian ideas and doctrine into the already radical sub-sect of Canaanite people who no longer viewed themselves, or probably even remembered themselves to even be of Canaanite origin at this point. If you ask any archeologist or anthropologist how you can tell the early Isrealites and the Canaanites apart, they will tell you that until the Israelites suddenly stopped eating pork you simply can't. So who were the Canaanites, they were the ancestors of the Isrealites and closest relatives of the Isrealites and the only reason that the ancient human authors of the Jewish text would write that there was any reason for Yhwh to command them to destroy the Canaanites is likely due to their population growing, their need for land, the Canaanites being their closest neighbors, and the fact that the Canaanites still worshiped the "old gods" above Yhwy and they were afraid that their people would be swayed into the old ways and that they, the religious leaders, would lose their power over the people. That is the most likely answer.

So, Even Cananite children who did not know their left hand from their right deserved to die because they had evil parents...this does nit sound like a God of Love. I can find no vestige of moral justification for this nor do I offer any. If God really ordered this genocide God will have to explain it.

I was curious about the Canaanites, so I stumbled into this site. I didn't realize this guy was a Christian apologist, and therefore has a bias to begin with. I'll try and find some secular authorities and compare them with what this dude says. That should tell me how "objective" he is. To Christians reading this: bear in mind, this is "Christian" history as given by a Christian apologist who is biased in that directIon. It's like listening to a lecture on the history of the Russian Revolution given by a dedicated Marxist. You'd question whether such a true Communist believer was fitting the story to accord with his belief system. Likewise you should question what this chap says about the Canaanites and compare it with what secular historians have said on the topic. Otherwise, this lecture is just "preaching to the choir."

Remember that the original canaanites were driven out of their land and they joined their fellow brothers on Ham's land(the African continent). The ancient tribes of Canaan can be found in Sub-saharan African. Tribes like the Akans who belonged the Horites of Seir are found in West Africa. The Akans like many West, Central and South African tribes claim their origin and ancestry from Mesopotamia, specifically Canaan land. The Akans in particular claim that they migrated from North East(Mesopotamia) and passed through Misraim(Egypt) then settled at Nubia. Upon the fall of Nubia, they dispersed to form the great and ancient empire of Ghana. There's no true descendant of Canaan now living in Mesopotamia currently. The Palestinians and other tribes like the Lebanese are not from Canaan. They share a common DNA with the Israelites which means they're of Shem. The true DNA of ancient canaanites can be found South of the Sahara in Africa.

No evidence corrabarating those claims has even been found in Canaan. Hebrews wrote the bad stuff you have started your video with once they moved away from God El and followed YHWH, the deity they picked up in exile (Persia). Both authors in that section of the Bible including Isaiah were Persian scribes.
