Rabbi Singer said all the 3 men were angels. *That's false.* Only 2 of the men were mentioned later in Gen 19:1 as angels. Was the 3rd men Yahweh (or Hashem) or angel? Nowhere did the passage says he was an angel. If so, the bible would have said it. Rabbi was afraid to said Yahweh or Hashem came in a human form but admitted that angels could appear as humans *as if Yahweh does not have the power to transform to a human except angels.* In Gen18:8, these 3 men ate the food, indicated that they were all humans. So when you asked believers in Judaism where is Yahweh when they said all the 3 men were angels, Jews will say Hashem is in heaven or he appeared in a vision. No where did the bible say Yahweh appeared in a vision. The word *appear* in Gen 18:1 means to become visible or noticeable. Therefore Yahweh appeared visually to Abraham. Besides Gen 18:22-23 says 2 of the men continued to walk to Sodom while Abraham stood before Hashem and came nearer to Him and asked Him some questions.. This shows that Hashem was on earth and not in heaven. It was Hashem who promised Abraham He would visit Sarah some time later (Gen 18:14). Indeed Hashem appeared the Sarah as promised (Gen21:1-2).

Don't be fooled by rabbis. They have agendas. Rabbi twisted the Bible in Gen 18 to say the 3 men were angels + Hashem when the Bible didn't say all the 3 men in Genesis 18 were angels. Being 71 like Rabbi Federow I, I know exactly what he means about memory loss. I couldn't think of the word DUCT as in duct tape so believe me he's doing much better than I am. lol These days I have to set timers, write a note to myself and I do little multitasking just to be on the safe side. the reason why we shouldn’t interpret as though God appeared in the form of 3 men is because that violates the understanding of the Shema Deut. 6:4, God is an absolute unity with no composition because parts of a whole require each other to form the whole entity. Thus raising attributes of separation, dependency, addition, change, etc which do not belong to God’s essence. The proof is just how humans cannot hear color or see melody as our senses fall short, any creational attribution also falls short to God as He fashioned these pluralistic facilities. Christians arent aware of these following 3 things, which is why they go on a wild goose chase: 1. there are angels that appear human-like (Malakim) 2. angels can be addressed as "Adonai", a title of respect that is also used with God. 3. Malakim doesnt only translate to angels, but also "messengers" , aka messengers of God - through which prophets can communicate to God as intermediaries. That's the only 3 basic facts one needs to debunk all the Christian interpretations of angels being God himself. One of the questions I have regarding this section of Genesis, is 18:8 where is appears that Abraham prepared a meal for the 3 men (or angels) which included cakes, meat and milk. We are told that Abraham observed all 613 mitzvot even before the Torah was given, but here he is serving these strangers a mixture of meat and milk. You could say, Abraham himself didn't partake of this meal but just served it to these visitors. I know it's a small point but wondering if it's ever talked about.??

Excellent points by Rabbi Federow. This is one of the reasons KJV, ESV, & NIV are better than some other translations -- any time you see "The LORD" or "GOD" in all-caps, the Hebrew says "YHVH" , which is God's name. The English translation can be quite confusing if you don't learn the Hebrew. Christians have been deceived by the translators.
That is correct! The substitution of God's name with a title LORD was made to confuse people on the identity of God. Jesus who obeyed the laws said this quoting Deuteronomy 6:13. (Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and IT IS TO HIM ALONE you must render sacred service.’”

The Greek of Matthew 4:10 reads, "τοτε λεγει αυτω ο ιησους υπαγε σατανα γεγραπται γαρ κυριον τον θεον σου προσκυνησεις και αυτω μονω λατρευσεις" The word "Jehovah" appears nowhere in that sentence, although "Satan" sure does. Deuteronomy 6:13 says, "It is the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear" Jesus never uses God's name & never says to even "fear the LORD", because he doesn't worship the God of Israel, and he doesn't even seem to know Hebrew. (See his failure to deceive others when he misquotes Psalms 110:1.)

@@tongakhan230, It seems you're using like the New World Translation (first available in 1950) or the New Living Translation (first available in 1996.) Whereas the version I just provided for you was from the Stephanus Greek New Testament, (first written in 1551.) When you want to talk about a copy-of-a-copy, you need to realize that your version is the one that has been mistranslated from the original. There is nothing saying that Jesus is quoting the Hebrew Bible, because throughout the New Testament, Jesus NEVER says a single word in Hebrew -- especially not God's name, or any variation of it. He deceptively tries to confuse others with the mistranslation of God's name as "The LORD" in Psalm 110:1. The closest he gets is when he says, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" which of course is Aramaic, and just another quote from the beginning of the 22nd Psalm, and he's still not using God's name. He's just saying "My god..." This is the beginning of the problem with the entire Christian New Testament. For a supposedly Jewish guy who is trying to get a bunch of supposedly Jewish followers to worship him, why would all of the books about him be written in Greek? Why would people call on the Jewish rabbis to write the Septuagint in Greek as well? The answer is very simple if you've studied any Judaism at all, which is that they were people who abandoned the faith of their fathers, intentionally leaving their culture & their Hebrew society behind in an effort to become more like the Greeks (who would later be replaced by the Romans.) Jews worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Christians worship Jesus (and maybe the rest of a made-up polytheistic idea called the "Trinity.") When you realize this, you can easily see the vicious Anti-semitism of the entire book of John. The Old Testament is full of commandments to retain your Hebrew identity, and not to become like the strangers who worship other gods. Jesus not only worshipped a different god -- he claimed to BE some kind of god, which is really strange when you hear him crying out for help from a god who is letting him die, to fulfil a twisted version of a different story that wasn't even a prophecy about what's going to happen. Even worse, he didn't fulfil the prophetic lie he told, nor did he fulfil the requirements to be a Messiah. Jesus' teachings are 100% against the teachings of the Torah, and the teachings of Paul double-down on turning Jesus' worshippers away from YHVH, the God of Israel.
God was already in the tent in verse 1. Abraham is having a navuwa , that's why his eyes were closed. Then he runs to meet the strangers outside, and he doesn't know if they're angels or men. So how could the three men be God if God is already in the tent with him from the first verse of the chapter. He leaves the presence of God to take care of 3 travelers, the greatest act of tzedekah there is. That's why Avraham is the greatest.

It would be not be possible if it was a revelation, dream or vision. We only know the 2 men were angels in Gen 19:1. Who is the 3rd man? It couldn't be an angel or else the bible would have said so right away instead of saying 2 of them were angels only. The 3rd man must be Hashem. He came as a human. Gen 18:1, 13-14, 17,19 speacifically says Hashem, not angels. Jews said Gabriel was the one who destroyed Sodom. That's false. In genesis 19:18 Lot calls the remaining two angels "adonai" the same way its written/pronounced when abraham addresses them. That's full proof that just bc Abraham called them with that name doesnt mean any of the angels were God in any way. God is the YHVH in verse 1. Hebrews 1:2 tells us that the angel whom God used as his spokesperson who became Jesus was used in the First Century. There is no way that one angel among the 3 who visited Abraham could have been Jesus. Abraham didn't know that they were angels. Hebrews 13:2.
