1) I’m thinking they’ll announce it in a couple of days (after SDCC is over). 2) I bet it’s going to be November. That was the month 2 out of the 3 games were released… and if they’ve already told us it will be a fall release, it’s pretty likely.
Somehow i believe this will be much closer to the plot than we know! I will guess that Solas is dying and want to control/assume rook's body and dependind on rook's action through the game it may change the ending. (By the way, english is not my Mother language! I am sorry for any mistakes) Like Crysis 2 plot
They should really release a character creator demo like they did with Dragons Dogma 2. That would bring in more excitement than any marketing trailers imo
@@buryzenek1414 Given that I (an older straight, pale white lady) fully support this game, the studio that makes the game, and everyone and anyone LGBTQIA+, I'm not sure why you thought your odd attempt an an insult would bother me.
I am thinking on a female Dwarf Veil Jumper. Her name is Ledda. She is an optimistic, fast-talking, neurodivergent inventor (or mad genius, depends on who you ask) who is totally fascinated by lyrium, its secrets and uses, titans and magic. She studied them for years and used her talents to build incredible explosives and bombs for the Karta, but after Solas started wreaking havoc, she asked her boss, Micah Brosca, to go to Arlathan forest to investigate and she joined the Veil Jumpers
The Tower and Rook parallels are even stronger given the purple and shots of gold in the Lighthouse, and the fact that Rook’s colour scheme is purple with gold accents. A push-and-pull dynamic with Solas would be sooo intriguing and fun to dissect while playing! Solas can’t conceal who he is in DATV, different to how it was in DAI. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game 🔥🙌
@@buryzenek1414are you enjoying repeatedly spamming this weird negative comment in a forum where people have come together to get excited about a video game? What joy do you derive from that?
Same struggle for me.. though I’m leaning g towards warden as the wardens were always my favorite part of the series. I hope the game delivers for the fans!
Hey, this might be an odd request, but I hope you can lean into it and make it something positive: Could you give me a small sales-pitch on why you actually like Fenris? Dorian I've gotten to really adore even though I very rarely had him in my active party. But I recently played Dragon Age 2 for the first time (played Origins two times all the way back when it released) in preparation for The Veilguard and I'm also replaying Inquisition right now, 'cause I never made it to Trespasser, when it came out. I absolutely *LOVE* Dragon Age - it's a rekindled love, if you will :) But I just gotta say, I could not for the life of me connect with Fenris. I gotta be honest, it's mostly because of the design choices (I find him annoyingly Anime, which isn't my style). I think the voice actor is doing at least a solid job, though. Could you tell me, why you liked him, without spoiling too much of his personal story? I'm totally gonna replay the whole trilogy *again* before The Veilguard releases, so that I can really lean into (re)making these choices that you'll be able to shape in the new game :) Thank you so much in advance if you do and absolutely don't sweat it, if you don't want to :)
@@CalamityCain Without spoiling anything, try to reserve your judgement until you've really gotten to know him (aka his whole story). All I will say is he's closed off for good reason, which can make it difficult to warm up to him before then.
New subscriber - love these videos. So cool that Alex Jordan is a fan of your channel! New to the Dragon Age series, decided to do a run through Inquisition while waiting for Veilguard. (For Steamdeck owners, I saw that Veilguard is Steamdeck verified!)
I'm going to play a male qunari two handed or reaper warrior who is either a shadow dragon or lord of fortune. Going to have glorious long white hair and I'm romancing short king lucanis 😂
Got a few ideas in mind. What I really want to do is play a Rook who shouldn't fit in within their faction. Like a Qunari Grey Warden, of which we've never seen before. Or a Dwarf in the Mournwatch, because Mournwatch is very magic oriented, and dwarves canonically can't use magic. Actually now that I think about it, playing a Qunari in any background other than Lords of Fortune will be very interesting. The precedent isn't set for a Qunari in any of these factions really.
I am a ranged rogue girlie, and I think my faction will be the crows. A romance with Lucanis will be unavoidable. Also looking very forward to the continuation of Inky and Solas romance
Human/female/mage/evoker/Mourne Watch - coupled with an Emmerich romance of course as a faction connection. I’m not sure how their default knowledge of the other will play out, but in my head my bookish sort Rook is a bit of fan of his academic history.
Every time you post a video, it just makes me even more excited to play! I'll be happily stuck in character creation for a good few hours, that's for sure! Keep up the good work, Jack!!
I am so happy they clarified that rook has been traveling with Varic and they aren't like the reveal trailer depicted just some dumbass Varic picked up in a bar! If they say we get a short DAO-like Origin story depending on which faction we choose I'm going to pre-order the game. I know you said they aren't but I'm going to keep hoping anyways.
I hope the blood magic thing is a result of "I don't think Rook having blood magic fits with the lore, so we won't give them that option" and not "we don't want to add a blood magic subclass, let's find a lore excuse to prevent that."
Well, i always try to make the most "canon" story. So i think the best character for this game would be a Rogue/Mage Human/Elf (elven gods, solas, tevinter etc) with the connection to the Shadow Dragons (At the end of the inquisition they agreed to seek help from the Tevinter, so yeah). The MC should: 1.Have 0 connections to the previous games or characters from them; 2.Have a strong connection and reason to be present in the current story; 3.Have a realistic appearance and name (preferably preset) 4.Have a class and spec that's the most suited for character's position and occupation (example from the previous games: Hawke-Mage, Grey Warden-Warrior) 4.Be the good guy and recruit everyone (my preference)
@@buryzenek1414 why are you even here? You are not forced to play any style your not comfortable with. I am a straight male and I play as a straight male. Everyone is free to play who and how they want. Everyone praised BG3 and it had almost all the same options but without the awesome combat. I don't get it.
So so so many choices. I have loose concepts based mostly on class. Warrior - Grey Warden/Lords Of Fortune Qunari, or Human. Stoic, probably Alex Jordan for the VA choice. Plus a Warden Qunari sounds weird and incredibly interesting for lore implications. Rouge - Non-Binary/Femme Ativan Crow Human or Elf, snarky-yet-gold-hearted-assassin. VA will be Erika Ishii, no doubt. Mage - Spellblade, because I tend to like CQC, background is either Veil-Jumper or Mourn Watch, they'll be just a weird, unpredictable person.
Because Zevran was my favorite companion (and lover) in Origins, my first playthrough will be as an Antivan Crow (most likely a mage spellblade), romancing Lucanis. I'm hoping we at least hear about what Zevran is up to, if not get a cameo, or (fingers crossed) a side quest. (Plus, maybe an update on how his Grey Warden is faring in their search for the cure of the Calling).
@@buryzenek1414 First off... what?! What does wanting to be an Antivan Crow have anything to do with any of this? Secondly... I'm already gay and transgender so... too late!
I really hope we get an update to the cure for the calling subplot from inquisition. I also hope we get more on Morrigan’s child from the dark ritual. I hope somehow, we get updates on the Hero of Fereldan, Hawke, and Inquisitor and their respective romances, in some fashion in this game.
@@IronCrone It has been confirmed that the Inquisitor will be in this game and that we'll be customizing them in the character creator. Since we will be spending time in the Fade, I also hope we learn the fate of whoever we left behind (for me it's always Stroud, but if we happen to find him alive, that would change any future Inquisition playthroughs).
@@Kleineganz thank you! And I also hope for an update on whomever was left in the fade. I left Hawke in the fade in my play through as Alistair was the warden and I couldn’t leave him behind.
Elven rogue….shadow dragon…Bryony Corrigan’s voice…Her voice is perfect. The lighthouse sounds interesting. Actually there is a bunch of stuff they could do with a set up like that…It’s way more fantastical of a set up than some of their previous games but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. It sounds like we’re going to get an intimate look at Solas’ soul. I’m employing whatever latent psychic abilities I have to get a September release date. I want to buy myself the game for my birthday :)
My first Rook will more than likely be a Human Mage from the Mournwatch. Will focus on the Necromancy and Spellblade trees. Up close melee mage with necro spells sounds amazing, honestly. With Harding back, you know she has to be my first romance option. Will play around with the others on my many subsequent playthroughs.
Definitely don’t know what background to go with. As an OG player part of me wants to throw it back with the Grey Wardens but I’m also interested in some of the new factions. Think I have my mind set on battle mage as a class. I like the idea of being able to get up close and personal while still being able to do AOE damage.
I've had my Dragon Age OC ready for years already for this game! It works out so well too bc she was already going to be an Antivan Crow, and now she can be in game!! It's all coming together >:3c
Since I first finished Trespasser (years ago now 💀), I had been planning for, initially an elven fog warrior or a qunari pirate. Well, the fog warrior won't pan through, but I can make that pirate with the lords of fortune origin lol. So first playthrough for me will be a male qunari lord of fortune warrior. Gonna make like a qunari Avatar Kuruk lmao. I'll likely do a female mortalitasi after, not sure what class yet. Then a Warden after that.
I'm planning on a short female qunari mage from the grey wardens and I'm romancing lucanis for my first playthrough. My second playthrough will be either a human or elven female rogue antivan crow and romancing davrin.
Im split between the starter faction truthfully i need to see thr bonuses and more lore, thougy im strongly leaning towards morne watch as a edgy elf saboteur/ veilguard mix.
I'm feeling Two-handed Elf Warrior allied with the Shadow Dragons. DA:O was sword and board Dwarf, DA2 was Human dagger Rogue, DAI was Vashoth Mage, it's time for an Elf MC. Second option would be Qunari Rogue allied with the Antivan Crows, the idea of a stealthy giant is funny to me.
I haven’t read or watched the other material but I think there is a second blade based on what you said. Solas probably tasks you to find where this blade could be around Thedas and maybe somewhere along the way a baddie gets it just not the Elven Gods and the PC gets eventually! Would be cool I think!
Maybe the blade is the only way to save Thedas and the blade like in the gameplay cuts down the fade so you end up performing solas plan anyway but maybe you determine how it’s done like violently or a longer more gentle way
Probably going to start the same way i started origins. Dwarf Warden. Either that or a quinari. Going to be a warden regardless, really missed those guys
Excellent video, Jack!! I'm definitely playing as an elven mage lord of fortune. He is going to be Halsin cousin. (Mr. Beef, Big, and Tall) I will use the spellblade specialization. (It's too cool to resist) After seeing the 20-minute gameplay footage. I'm so excited to see what happened when Rook wakes up in the lighthouse and kick off our adventure. 🎉 Cheer. 🙌🏾😄
1:00 The role you are describing is literally the Grey Warden from DAO, the Warden didn't have any special ability, didn't have any prophecy, and was just a random person who happened to become a warden and needed to unite different factions to defeat the Fifth Blight
I hope they release some videos of the different classes. I’m really torn between duelists and spellblades. The throwing the shield sounds cool too though.
Definitely doing a playthrough as an elven veil jumper and another as a lord of fortune! Oh yes, and a Crow. Clearly I'm going to need to do several playthroughs with as many combinations as I can
Lately I’ve noticed some games actually don’t offer a light enough skin tone to match mine, so I hope they do here. So glad snarky dialogue is back. Snarky hawke was the best part of DA2
Elven Shadow Dragon. Gender of them undecided, but leaning Male with Alex Jordan's voice though (and male in general as it'd make a nice pattern with my canon world state characters: Female Hero of Ferelden - Male Hawke - Female Inquisitor - Male Rook(?) Class wise, I'm dithering between Rogue (Duellist probably) or Mage (Spellblade). They're still going to be good aligned, but more ruthless than my other Dragon Age characters. A Paragade. Protector of the innocent, but will be brutal with slavers and Venatori etc if possible.
First one I probably will go elven woman Lord of Fortune, because for some reason I really want to make first Rook more in vibes of Isabela. Second one I probably will go Mortalitasi mage human woman. And third will be an Antivian Crow, possibly woman too given how we .. never seen in game female Antivian Crow.
Play as my 1st Warden from origins who unlocked the power that blood gives you. So i will destroy everything if we do not get a release date by the end of August 2024. Still on the fence about this game though, compared to the previous 3 games.
I really want to play a freed elven slave (shadow dragon) for my first run. Maybe she was one of the elves that Solas freed during his little jaunt in Tevinter. I also want to do a close-minded Dalish Veiljumper, a Qunari Warden, Dwarf Lord of Fortune, Human Mournwatcher, and Elven Crow. There’s so many stories I want to explore, but I really want to play my Tevinter Elf first. :)
“No magic touch” except our (partial) fusion with Solas, a god. Kinda feels about as chosen one as the inquisitor (just not public knowledge this time)
@@shadowwalker4292 I get that but we still do have a special nearly godlike power nobody else in the world has. “But this time it’s just right place right time. Kind of like how the inquisitor got their mark from being at the right place at the right time”
I really hope we see more unique dialogue depending on your combination of class and race... We have seen choices that only happens if you are a mage or elf in the past, but i would like to see them follow what Baldur's Gate 3 did, and give you choices specific to certain combinations of race and class, like a Qunari mage or Dwarf rogue. Say you are talking about sneaking into an enemy hideout, and a human rogue can suggest a way to get part of the way through unseen, but a dwarf rogue can have an additional version of that dialogue, where they can use their smaller size to hide more efficiently...
I definitely want to be apart of the tevinter faction Shadow Dragons. I also want to be immersed in a new game setting and culture. Morn Watchers is a close second for that reason. And as always, I’ll be a mage first go around ✨
My first guy going to be elven mage evoker from Veil jumpers faction to maximize personal stakes for whole "tearing up the Veil for elven glory" thing.
I’ll play as all 4 races and all 3 classes. 1. Male Elf Champion Warrior named Denji 2. Female Dwarf Slayer Warrior named Sophitia 3. Female Human Dualist Rogue named Touka 4. Male Qunari Evoker Mage named Goliath
Gonna play my first Rook as a Crow, RPing as a displaced member of the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Assassins. Always dress in black, choose the classiest possible options, kill all and only those people I’m contracted to kill, etc.
The most I know so far is that my first Rook will be an elven Grey Warden spellblade with Davrin as a love interest. Definitely gonna be a lil goodie-two-shoes, as all my first playthroughs are lol. I wanna pick a name for her, but I want it to flow well with her surname, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what that'll be for a Grey Warden Rook. Appearance-wise, I know I'm gonna go for long curly ginger hair and some kind of heterochromia. Haven't decided which colors, but I'm thinking brown and blue to differentiate her from my green-eyed Inquisitor. Speaking off Inky, I can't wait to design the best version of her in this game. Finally, she'll have the muscles Solas complimented her on lol. Hopefully the character creator does have the DAI Vallaslin available for Lavellan, because it'd be weird if their Vallaslin just changed between games.
I played a dwarf warrior in Origins, a human dagger rogue in DA2, a Qunari bow rogue in Inquisition, so naturally I will be playing an elven mage this time. Thinking of death caller mage from the grey wardens, romancing Emmerich and bffing Davrin while resisting Lucanis with every bit of strength in my Zevran loving being 😂
Like what I did with dai, I'm going to have twins as both of my canon playthroughs. One's going to be a warrior while the other will be a mage and they're going to be Qunari. I normally play as a rogue elf so playing as both a warrior and mage will be a nice breather(my solavellan playthrough was a mage but I honestly didn't play her all that much). They're both going to be from the Lords of Fortune and I imagine they constantly help each other as a team but maybe something drew one of them away so the one brother can't help the other. For romances I'm not quite sure who my romance for the Warrior will be but for my mage, I think I want to try Davrin. Maybe Lucanis for the warrior? For my non-canon playthroughs I kinda want to play as a dwarf that time around and maybe play with all of the races just to get a feel for them all and how their race plays into the game, if at all. For the warrior I kinda want to make him a little shorter than average for a Qunari but more built like a strongman instead of a body builder. While for my mage, he's going to be a tall, wispy bean pole of a man. If possible I would also like to make the mage character trans, I would love to have that option.
I want to make a two handed grey warden. I want to use the new characters, the new grey warden companion, and the double weapon qunari. Would a 3 warrior party be ass tho?
I'm going Quanari Mourn Watch Guardian that looks like Hellboy!! I'm talking dark red skin, deep British accent, filed down horns (or full set, not sure yet), 8ft tall, with a big fuck off sword!! You know my class is going to be Slayer and it's gonna be glorious ✨️
