I loved it! She full out was ecstatic for her friend for winning and that’s how it always should be!! I literally cried. Precious moment. Not because Wisconsin won- but the genuine love and admiration.
That's when you want the scholarship money but don't really want to upend your life for a year of non-stop travel and appearances and exhausting media interviews back to back to back. It's not like Miss America becomes famous anymore these days like either in days of yore. In the old days they would become household names and be able to parlay that immediately into acting jobs and media hosting opportunities and other high profile/visible roles. These days, the fade right back into obscurity. In fact, they are even crowned in obscurity as the pageant is no longer on television, just streamed on the internet, and isn't even held in Atlantic City (not the first time they have left AC either). So beyond the prize money, and bragging rights, it's probably better to be first runner up than the actual winner. So that is probably a part of her jumping up and down in excitement. She was saying 'bitch its all yours, I'll take the check and go back home to my own life thanks!'
Ok, but I need a hype woman like the contestant in the gold dress behind her! This is what pageantry is about...cheering for and uplifting other women!

These women should be so proud of their achievements. Just wish they would get them back on tv. This used to be an event. These women work so hard for this and deserve their recognition. The competition needs to get on the ball
Without the runway....without the swim suit competition....without "There She Is Miss America.....it's just a pageant. Nothing to watch anymore. I haven't watched in years because it's so disappointingly boring.
The Miss America Organization changed the name in 2018 from pageant to competition. It's gone 100% political now and no longer has the prestige it once had.
Congratulations to ALL the contestants (you are all winners to have made it to the pageant), and to Miss Wisconsin, for winning that coveted crown of Miss America 2023 !!!! I have been a fan of Miss America, since the late 1960’s, when I was a child (my much older sister, now deceased, used to watch it back then, which is how I watched the pageant, as a child) ..I continued to watch every year, it was “appointment television” in my home, to see who would win that coveted crown. I felt strong emotion, when viewing this video clip, and am saddened to see the negative comments. I will just add that “change is constant,” and the organization has made, what I consider to be positive changes, as far as focusing on these talented young women, as a whole. I do wish they would play the rendition of “There She Is,” sung by Bert Parks, long time host of the show, no one sung the song quite like he did !! lol ..One more thing, I do wish the pageant was placed back on network t.v., as the institution of Miss America, should be broadcast to an audience, where more people would see it. Unfortunately, I missed this year’s pageant, as I had not heard when, or where, it was being broadcast. I had wondered when the pageant was held, and finally looked it up here. In any event, congratulations to you ALL !!!!
Glad and proud of my homegirl, from the state of Wisconsin, where I was born and have lived all my life! But probably any one of the beauties from the other states could have made a good Miss America too! I say this from the heart ❤️💜 as a Wisconsinite! And a proud, black Christian man. Miss New York seemed to be really happy for our girl 👊👍🤗 for winning. I imagine all the other contestants were. That's what it's about in any kinda contest. Be it a beauty pageant, NBA champion game, NFL , MLB World Series, NHL, boxing match, whatever. All who participated in it, and watch it, etc. Should be happy for the winner. As long as it was fair! That makes me think of the Oscars, Emmys, Grammy Awards, etc.
Who is staging this production? Stage is so small that the contestants have to move out of the way as finalists are named? Poorly scripted emcees … and amateur delivery of remarks -- come on Miss America … you can do better to present this production and these contestants.
Announcers and the whole ambiance is not right. Feels like they’re crowning a prom queen. The ambiance is gone … not because of the contestants, but the production. Fix it!!

This pageant has lost its LUSTRE.... No first class host, and it has been relegated to some odd cable channel. This use to be a big deal in America! Not anymore!
The pageant has gone down the tubes....should be back in AC, NJ and on a saturday night in SEPTEMBER. Gretchen Carlsen should be proud for destroying the tradition.
When I was a little girl I used to watch these pageant shows. Probably cuz there wasn't a lot to watch on tv. It seems like the same States always won or in the running. Nice to see a state that doesn't win actually win for a change. I never watch these shows anymore. This probably came up and my recommendations cuz I was looking up stuff about Wisconsin
tbh, the stage was a bit messed up. there's should be a proper etiquette when presenting the bouquet to the ladies, and so on. this is not Toddlers and Tiaras level, this pageant is on international level. the event should be more decent and proper.
Dad, I came across the video & I stopped to watch it...I picked the winner from just seeing the final 5 contestants... Wish you were still here... You know I always picked the winner early on, but the last few years since you passed away, I haven't watched Miss America RIP Dad
This looked so amateur as a pageant streamed this way. Miss America needs to get back on network tv where it belongs and structured the way it used to be. The young women vying for titles deserve better than this. It had the appearance of someone being crowned a homecoming queen instead of Miss America.
Miss NY didn't want to win, I think 25000USD was more than enough to pay for her studies. Being Miss America takes a lot of responsibility and 1 year of lost studies. Sometimes in these contests it's better to get 2nd place.
People had to pay $32 on the Miss America Organization website to watch it. The music was cheap. They could have found better music free on RU-vid. In the past, this pageant was prestigious. They had celebrity MC's. The judges might have had a celebrity or two. They played current popular songs while the contestants came out one by one. The background graphics used to be nice! But this year, they used a plain font without even a crown on it. Very scaled down. Viewership has plummeted in recent years because it got too politician. Now it's worse. It's as if they scraped pennies to have it.
It's incredible how this pageant has fallen. The winner's reaction was cringy...fake, dramatic, and hard to watch. This looks like it was produced in a high school gym or auditorium. Looking back at the old Miss America pageants, it was once full of style, grace, and grandeur. Not any longer...just cheap and nothing special at all. The contestants could learn a lot by the old days, see how real women carried themselves.
They're all beautiful, but the reason Miss Wisconsin won wasn't based off her looks, talent or interview. It was based off her "social impact platform," which was clean energy. Zero-carbon energy sources (which has created all our rolling blackouts across the country without coal plants) The pageant is now 100% political. According to the Miss America Organization, Miss America is "positively advancing the goals and objectives of Miss America Organization as well as her own Social Impact Initiative." Over the last couple years, the MAO has eliminated swimsuit and evening gown categories and replaced them with the social impact platform. In 2018, they stopped calling it a pageant, and now it's a competition. The music was cheap. The background was cheap. And all the hard work these ladies have done was hardly even recognized or seen because of a paywall on the MAO website🙄 Miss NY should have won based on talent, beauty and ability to communicate and carry herself professionally.

Miss America wasn’t advertised or even shown on any networks this year. They put it on a website with a pay wall and nobody even knew it was on. It’s no longer based on beauty, education or talent. It’s based on whether or not you’re the most politically correct. That’s why Wisconsin won based on her platform.
