Thank you for your question. Automated CBC (Complete Blood Count) is a test where various cell counts (RBC, WBC, Platelets) and various parameters of blood cells (MCV, MCH, MCHC), etc. are measured automatically. However, in some cases, automated CBC may not give correct results (like it may show fewer platelet counts if they are very small). In doubtful cases, a manual examination of the peripheral blood film (PBF) by a qualified person is recommended and usually done. So all are the same: CBC (Complete Blood Count), Whole Blood count, Full Blood Examination (FBE), etc. are various names given to the same test. Manual examination of PBF (Peripheral Blood Film) by a qualified person provides more accurate information in doubtful cases and is regularly performed.
Thank you for your question, the doctor has asked for CBC done by an automated machine. He will correlate the CBC results with the clinical features of the patient. If the results correlate with the clinical features then automated CBC is enough. If the doctor wants more information about the morphology of the blood cells he may advice for manual PBF (Peripheral Blood Film). So it is the doctor who will decide if the CBC report is enough or not. Take care and stay blessed.
Thank you for your feedback. Take care and stay blessed. Here is a link of my new immunology video on transplantation and graft rejection. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o2vm2Sh1W84.html
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, the complete PowerPoint file was in my old laptop which crashed a few months ago. Here is a partial backup from google drive. It includes only part of Red cell components. I will upload the complete PowerPoint file to the website after recovering the files hopefully.
