That’s literally my team except they fake injuries literally 3 times a week and they are terrible actors so the coaches almost always know there faking lol
The sad thing is for my cheer team (I do competition cheer too) even if we are sick we still have to go!! We can sit out and watch just so we don't miss anything but if we are done with the routine then we the team does full outs (pretending they are at the comp) and the person who is sick HAS to do at least one 😭
that one time i competed with food poisoning….😬 i attended every full out practice that entire week even though i was throwing up in a trash can every 2 and a half minutes 😅

the funny thing is is that my school got cancelled this week because of 100+ kids and staff being out with the flu (our school only has like 330 people in it)

i had a compotition today for cheer, they played the music way to early on purpose and we got 3rd place, the same team but different age groups got 1st place every time and they got a paid trip for the semi final...
my story isn’t of cheer but of band. near the end of our fall season we were coming up on champs and there was a sickness going around (probably the flu) and we ended up missing a whole third of our band the weekend before champs. it’s funny looking back but definitely not funny at the time 😂

So, would a coach actually take a team of sick and contagious people to a competition? Wow, it's like "stay home if you have the flu...you may recover just fine, but others you encounter may not" never even happened.
Omg sameee it was February (which if you don’t know that’s when cheer nationals take place) and people had fevers, people were throwing up, people had sore throats but in the end everyone competed and we got 4th in junior high non-tumbling game-day division❤
I do cheer and my coaches know when I’m sick so they ask me but I just nod yes, my support worker on the other hand is amazing when I’m sick she lets me lay down and sleep
Yeah I wish I had the flu Oh no I'll have extra homework like I already got the flu one time it was annoying but we do need a break hahaha Merry Christmas
