I’ve been a traditional wife for thirty-three years. When I was in college in the early 80s, it was drummed in my head that I needed to work at a job and climb the corporate ladder. I never wanted children at that time. When I got married at twenty-eight, we decided to have a child and I stayed home with her. When she started first grade, I worked part time in the morning. She died when she was sixteen. Look at all the time I would have missed out on in her life if I worked full time for someone else and she was at child care all day. My husband is an engineer and provides more than amply for he and I. We miss our sweet girl. Children are more important than a big house, two fancy cars, and extravagant vacations every year. We lived within our budget.

@@EsteeWilliams : So true. The older we get, the more we realize what’s so important. Fortunately, you realized it earlier. College was a blessing and a curse for me. I do spend my time now telling younger women not to repeat some of my mistakes. My niece is getting married in the Autumn. She’s twenty-two. She said she’ll probably take some classes online but she doesn’t want the whole campus experience.

You explained it so well! I’m a happy tradwife and supplement our income by working very part time for our chiropractor! It helps cover the groceries praise God and still let’s me stay at home more often than not. I’ve done the “boss babe” thing and tried to climb the ladder and it left me very unsatisfied. My husband and I love me staying at home and have sacrificed and budgeted but it’s well worth it. He’s a great provider and loves seeing me thrive!

The Proverbs 31 woman also worked and was industrious. People tend to forget that a traditional biblical wife contributed to the home in many ways. The important principle is that the man is the leader of the home and that the wife is his helpmeet--however, that help needs to happen in that home. Many traditional wives run or manage the household and it's a blessing to their hubby. Kudos to you!

Agreed! I’ve been a traditional wife for 7 years now. I’m so much more at peace than I was when I worked and attempted to raise my children at the same time. It honestly revives a woman’s femininity and grace.
I am so much happier now that I stopped trying to be a “boss babe” as I was trained in college to be and an “equal” to my husband. I’ve never been more stressed and tired and grumpy than when I was single and working full time for someone else. I am so happy I found my husband who wants me to relax and provide for me and our future family. I love being a pet sitter from time to time for supplemental income so that I can spend as much time needed at home resting to be the best wife for my hard working husband to come home to. We are so happy with this polarity dynamic. Our opposing roles work together harmoniously. We are happy to make the sacrifices necessary to keep this dynamic in motion as it is what we want most. I believe mothers should be home with their children and hard working provider husbands deserve to come home to a preserved, rested, happy wife.
I am a traditional wife/homemaker/Christian wife/homeschooler. Nothing has been more important to me than raising our kids to be healthy and confident. Also, I just couldn't part with our first baby and I've been at home ever since. Baby number 3 is on the way, and it's been a crazy 7 years and we hit the ground running. It's been more than worth it for us. ❤

I ‘ve been a stay at home dad for much of our marriage, except when the boys went to middle school and high school. I had a handyman business that allowed me much flexibility. We’ve been married for 36 yrs now. I’m still a stay at home husband now, at her request, helping my wife crush it at her job. I enjoy cleaning, cooking, yard work, home repairs & renovations! There is a difference between being a traditional wife because you choose too and being one because of an overbearing husband gives you no choice. A tradwife by choice is a very liberated and progressive role to be in.
No one should marry an overbearing husband in the first place. It’s our choice and some of us don’t value ourselves as we should, and we settle for a man like that. She knows her worth, as does her husband and neither settled.
I am so glad you call this choice just that-a valid career choice. My grandma was a home maker a house wife of 3 kids and 4 pets and later a housewife and nurse. Then she was a 'nursewife' as she put it in her later years. She lived to 97 had 3 husbands death parted her from and her wise words were: The facts are we can either 1) work for one man 2) work for a corporate boss or 3) beg and....well sell our 'bits' if you will. If you think about it in this way who do you think will treat you best, your lover, your boss or a stranger? I would put my bread in the best most trusted basket. And when that basket stayed overflowing thats when i knew it was time to be a nurse like my mamma did.
Nothing wrong with being a traditional wife 😊. Women are free to do whatever they want with their life and how to conduct it. The issue comes from when these women say words like, "a women's place is in the home". No yall, a woman's place is whatever they want to do and be. Always loving your look dress and beauty. I’ve lived the hard “Boss Babe” life. It was so hard and I had to work two full time jobs. I was married once when I was 18 to 23 and things went bad. I didn’t know what a marriage or even know how to be a wife. Then I met my husband and I fell in align with his authority his vision his dreams. Those all became my visions and my dreams. I went from two jobs to no job only watching over the house and Farm ❤❤❤

I'm a Christian wife and probably not a 'tradwife' by your definitions. I believe in putting my marriage before myself, but I also believe in being a career woman. I believe in submitting to my husband, but also believe in logical debates. Why I think this is the way to go? >> Proverbs 31 :)
Why would the husband have more authority than the wife? Because Bible says so? This is breeding ground for abuse justified as “I am the husband, I know better”. Plenty of people in awful situations because they are not making enough money and this type of video encourages people to jump into these risky and degrading situations.
I would add the clarity that submission means to let the man lead in providing and protecting. Men are natural leaders. Women are natural nurtures. I have been blessed as a traditional wife for almost 30 years raising six children, that my husband has let me lead with nurturing and has “submitted” to me with what my motherly instincts have dictated. It’s a beautiful balance. We trust each other in our strengths as equals knowing we are different but complete together.
I completely agree with everything! However thrifting needs to be done carefully as many "vintage" items have high quantities of lead in them especially furniture finish.
I am wondering how traditional you are by having such a active online presence that earns you a lot of money. Most likley you probably make more money than your provider partner this way.....
I’m not a Christian trad wife but a trad wife all the same. My husband is a wonderful provider and I do defer to him as the head of our household on all important matters. We discuss everything of course as I’m sure most partners do but in the end he makes the decision. I have learned over 17 years that he always makes the best decision for us as a family. And he respects my opinion on everything. I’ve been able to stay home with our daughter and it’s been the biggest blessing. I’m starting a small candle business on the side now that our girl is getting older. I appreciate your take on everything. This is horrendous advice especially in America where health insurance is tied to your job. 50% of marriages end in divorced. Uneducated women are significantly more likely to end up in an abusive relationship facts don’t lie.

As I said though, one marriage is not equal to another. And of course being a tradwife =/= being uneducated either, especially nowadays where one of the things the "education" you'll receive tells you is that some men are women, lol.

Obviously you do NOT have to bring in any money to the house, but I thought I would mention that flipping a few things on Ebay is a really fun hobby. I thrift, and flip stuff online. It's really nice, because you can do it from home, on your time, when you have extra time. It's also very fun, and can be done once you have children. So if you ever decide you choose to supplement, Ebay is the best!

I was a traditional wife for many years. I was also a wife that worked for many years. The bible seems to indicate it is perfectly acceptable for a woman to earn her own money - From Proverbs 311 - She considers a field and buys it; out of HER earnings she plants a vineyard. Not his or theirs but hers.

@EsteeWilliams yes its a 3rd generation dairy farm, we milk 187 holstein cows. They are the black and white ones. Yes it is a great life, it is a lot but the blessings are so great. I cherish my time being a house wife but also doing some of the dirty work too. Thank you for being a voice in this crazy world. Our kids show cows and pigs at the county fair and when I was young I was a fair queen and a dairy princess! Lol
I loved this video! My grandmothers were both bus drivers to supplement the farm income while their husbands stayed home. My mom also did seamstress jobs, and my grandma now does the same. There is no shame in making money for basic necessities for your family. Especially when you live off a small income.
Great video! I would also emphasize the importance of the husband adhering to traditional values as well. Husbands are to protect and provide for their wives, to love and honor them, so as to be worthy (quite frankly) of a traditional wife who does more than just the bare minimum.
My wife is a doctor, and I don't think either of us would ever want an arrangement like yours, but I'm glad it works well for you and your family. It's actually kind of a shame that you feel like you need to even justify it with a video like this.

I find your videos very inspiring. My marriage struggled for years when we lived in a very liberal state. Not to say there was anything wrong there the state is wonderful. However since moving to a more conservative state the female friends I have made have been so supportive of me taking a year to build my home and help my mother build her home after moving cross country. These ladies have shown me more liberation by saying “you can be at home and make sure your home and your mother’s home function and look good without feeling like you’re not doing something”. I have never been happier and my marriage is so good right now and I don’t want to go back to work. My value here at home is very clear to me and my husband of 5 years, and the downsizing we did coming here means I can comfortably be a housewife. I would love to be as put together physically and wear dresses instead of shorts and sandals and that will all come in time. Thank you for your content!
I think that women working outside the home and inside the home and a combination of both are all valid scenarios. The fact that people are judging you for your I guess "career" choice as a trad wife is just plain silly when it's what makes you happy. I know women who are mostly "trad wives" but whom have part times jobs or they occasionally go out with friends and to the gym and things like that but don't earn as much as their husbands and they're some of the nicest people I know.
I work part time as a teacher and I love my job! But I also spend a LOT of time taking care of our home and our kids. I particularly love cooking for my little family.

I have a trad husband. He is a provider protector. I went back to school (teaching high school English) when my fifth started kindergarten and my oldest started college. It was not ideal but I was at school with my kids and it took a lot of pressure off of my husband. Nowt I'm getting to help homeschool my grandkids.
I have a bff who tradwifed instead of using her college education and begin working. She raised kids then hubby dumped her for a trophy wife. He's far along in his nice career. Shes pretty much unemloyable. Living in destitution now.
I have been a tradwife raising our kids at home for a few years now. I want to be able to get dressed up everyday but I’m a bit stuck. I can't seem to get dressed everyday, I go to bed with the intention of waking up and getting dressed but when I actually wake up I dont want to get dressed. I have a two in a half year old a one and a half year old and a one month old right now. Please any suggestions (from anyone) for shifting my mindset to want to get dressed would be so greatly appreciated!!
It's going to vary from couple to couple, but I'd set small goals first, any little thing you can successfully motivate yourself to do. It's more about setting a routine first. Then once you have a routine down in consistently meeting that small goal, you can add things gradually.

Start off by getting dressed every other day and laying out or plan what you're going to wear the day/night before while expanding your wardrobe and accessories at the same time and work your way up to everyday. It goes without saying to have aprons so you are protecting your wardrobe. I think Estee said she got her aprons on Etsy in a couple of her videos. I have no doubt you can and will succeed in your goal. Once your husband sees a difference you will gain more motivation and confidence

Idk. I 100% get living traditional lives , and upholding trad values. Homemaking, SAHMs - I have room for that and they are essential pillars of a well functioning society. But this honestly comes across as role playing to me. It just doesn't feel authentic.

I have depression. I dont work. I want to be a better wife but i cant. Idk i agree with this is a sense. As humans we exoect too much of ourselves. It actualky makes more sense to split responsibilities 50/50

My husband and I enjoy a biblical family lifestyle so most would consider me a traditional wife, though I'm much older than you and we live on a small homestead so no cute dresses during the day. 🙂 We've been married for 33 years and are the envy of not only our families, but friends, and our kids' friends. How you and your husband are living will not be understood by the world, even those who consider themselves mainstream Christians. Don't try to justify your lifestyle or respond to questions that are not genuine but intended to tear down and cause you to question your decision. Very well said. The way I usually summarize it is while a housewife might stay home and do the cooking and cleaning, perhaps even homeschool, a tradwife believes that a woman *should* do these things; it's not assigned randomly or based on whatever they want to do. And of course, a traditional husband is the same about the role he plays. Further, a tradwife is much more likely to believe that the wife should submit to her husband (usually but not always based on Christian faith), and traditional husbands believe they should be gentlemen to their wives (the bible words it as "honor your wife", "cleave to your wife"). And it's bizarre that people can't realize there's a big difference between earning supplemental income from spending a relatively small amount of time making RU-vid content, and working a full-time job to earn what's needed for the family to pay the rent/mortgage, the bills, the groceries and other expenses. Especially considering that you're not even leaving your home to make the content, I think they're clutching at straws trying to find something wrong with being a tradwife. As the great philosopher T.S. once said, "Haters gonna hate".
@@Lanab2677 Well it does promote in Proverbs 31 the idea of a woman "watching over the affairs of the household", which is easier to accomplish when you're at home most of the time. Says she can trade and sell garments, but that could be done from anywhere. At best, we can take the verse that says "She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar" literally as opposed to metaphorically, and say it's OK for her to travel long distances to gather/buy food. But even then, to be busy at home and watching over the household's affairs, she'd have to primarily be home over the course of the week. I actually can't find the verse in 1 Timothy 5 you mention, but Titus 2 does say to "urge the younger women... to be busy at home" and nothing more on the topic. So when you say "it's not restrictive in a sense that women can't work outside the home" I'm not sure what you mean. It doesn't say to *force* them to stay at home, so they *can* work away from home legally speaking, but it does seem to imply that home is where she should be quite often.

Government schools are doing their best to teach our children the absolute worst things they can get away with. The food they eat can't be trusted either. And there are actually so many employees available that employers have far less incentive to treat any of them right, give them better pay per hours, etc. than they would if most women chose to be stay-at-home wives and mothers. There's more but you get the idea. "My issue lies when someone displays “traditional Christian wife” as a homemaker “only” when the Bible doesn’t confine a Christian wife/mom to only being a homemaker." As her other critics have been quick to point out, Estee isn't just a homemaker either. She makes money online (to my understanding at least) and of course posts videos educating people on what a tradwife is, how to be one, how to be a better one, etc. All of this is traditional though, as we seem to agree.

that's interesting! I think I felt the opposite, with originally not wanting to watch her videos because of the expectation of "should" hitting hard. (you should do this, you should do that ...) While I did hear a few of those, it was not predominant. It's beautiful to see a woman operating in FREEDOM operating in her niche, and expressing her very feminine style without hesitation. I dislike the idea that culture forces this to go "extinct." Freedom is so important... being yourself. I am pleasantly surprised so far. Only my second video, halfway through!

Who would not LOVE coming home to a lady like this? I love coming home to a warm house, lights on, fire going in Winter. My wife has done this for 38 years. I would have despised coming home to a dark, cold house. Like Estee, my good wife is an excellent homemaker, there’s no contest in my humble opinion.

I agree with everything except the dressing up part. Before kids, yes. After kids? No way. Especially if you have multiple kids. And the younger they are the harder it is to have time to dress up. Everything else, I agree 💯💯💯
I just wear nice dresses every day. Easy to slip on! I brush my hair and sometimes add a little lipstick. Easy things. I'm a homeschooling mama of 5 , soon to be 6❤ so I understand the need for simple! I'm excited for some hair tutorials. I've never done much to my hair. Hopefully it can look cute and be easy enough!
Most women now days look great when we meet them. After we get married they stop trying. Pack on weight, stop even try to look nice. Stop brushing their hair or even getting dressed nice. When you come home to a woman that looks like a slob it is a turn off. And they wonder why the relating suffers. When people stop trying is when everything falls apart. Men do it as well. Stop trying. Your wife likes you to look good as well and not be a big slob. I've been married 24 years to. Great woman. I have been blessed. I do not consider my lifestyle a tradwife lifestyle.... Just because we are not of christian faith. We are a provider/home maker family. I have recently given up my career to prioritize my marriage and our kids. Still a transition, but I am feeling my purpose and feeling at peace. I am the best for my husband and my kids in this mindset.
They know all the random accusations they make against tradwives are nonsense, but they have to make *something* up to make you look bad! Why? Well, my theory is that deep down, they really do have a lot of doubts about the choices they made (sleeping around, prioritizing a career, etc.) They'd prefer to ignore the stark differences between the results they got and the results of women who made better choices, but they can't very well do that with tradwives such as yourself walking around!
And ofc they always blame the man they chose to be abusive, come on, you probably knew what you were getting yourself into, and you did not value yourself enough to wait for a better partner. If you compromise to get something, you’ll compromise to keep it. Our choices matter, but no one wants to accept responsibility.
@@RedNicole22 Exactly. And I think the answer lies in courting as opposed to dating, as strange as that will sound to modern ears. So many questions are considered "off the table" on first, second or even third dates. You end up knowing very little of what you actually need to know about the person before falling head over heels in "love" with them! People find that out after getting married and/or conceiving a child, which does set them up for failure.
It will be interesting to see if you’re able to keep the house clean, cook homemade organic meals, dress well with full make up all while taking care of children. Stay tuned folks!
Imagine having such a grateful, skillful, intelligent, great homemaker, and feminine wife. As a man, it would make all the sacrifices worth it. I would protect the family from small to big threat night and day, putting my life on the line with no hesitation. And I would work so hard, and outcompete everyone just to make sure the family is being taken care of. I would DIE for a real traditional wife. Thank you so much Estee for giving me hope. Something that I thought was very interesting with my mother she joined Avon and that was her way of having a little income for herself later on I joined Mary Kay, and that was kind of a little income. Plus, there was also the Tupperware lady that was awesome. You got to give parties the social with other homemakersand it was fun. OK that’s all I have to say.
I guess im a tradwife! Im a SAHM and homeschooler. Not sure why it is controversial. I have degrees but i want to lift up my husband and children. I love submitting to my wonderful, loving husband. I love that what i do at home makes everybody's life better. I love looking pretty and being my husband's hot wife. 😊 He deserves it. We are a happy family. Not perfect, but happy.
Saw your interview with Piers and wish that you would have had more time not only explaining traditionalism in your marriage but being able to counter point that feminist was talking about. Pearls opinion is good but she does not live the life you do and think you would have had a valuable opinion.

A career in nursing- not necessarily a nurse but caretaking could be a great way way for young trad wives to supplement income. That's what I do. I have always called myself a housewifebut I do also have a part time job. My priority is my husband and family.
If there is a bad decision out there to make, I'll make it. Somehow married a lawyer. Then dated a physical therapist, which actually went pretty good till I got out the service. Sometimes I think back to all the weekend throw away girls I went through thinking damn, any one of them would have made great wives/mothers. Can't complain being 40s and single though. Real easy to not spend money and keep my sanity.
