Whilst we have seen in previous years, there is a global trending song - 2024 lacks it. The group explain that trends such as Amapiano could have affected this, as well as the genre being oversaturated.
Vivz also asks whether the appeal for albums is dying and why Afrobeats albums are not 'sticking' with their audience.

I think the close-Siet to song of the summer have been the women (Love me jeje, Comma even bad vibes ft Seyi vibez). I think ogechi, ozeba, my dealer, tswala bam, fuji vibez. They all have tried but didnt hit that mark of song of the summer but all these songs pushed close. I think there are quite a few reasons why this is.... The listeners are not willingly to deviate from the top 3 or top 4 artists, they fixate on those 3 alone and that lies the problem

I think they have always chased hit songs, I think is because of the demand is higher now than before and quality dropped I guess but I think trend is also the reason .

We said in the last few years. Do you think twice as tall stuck with people more than Asake’s albums?? Also we were trying to make a point that albums in general are not sticking as much as before 😎
