Akademiks is paid by Drake to defend and promote him. He did an interview with Jason Lee and wanted to get dirt that Rihanna and Rocky were just a little fling. Jason Lee said nah, Rihanna is madly in love with Asap Rocky and they hold each other down. He said they are one of the most genuine celebrity couples. Asap Rocky changed the game when he came into the hip hop industry, he had an underground sound and other rappers started copying some of his style. He has never been mainstream like Drake, cause he makes alternative hip hop. Rocky has worked with amazing rappers like Kendrick (on 2 songs), Nas, Pharell, Mos Def and rock stars like Rod Stewart. He pushes himself creatively, directs some of his own videos and tries new sounds. He is a legend.
But Rocky was not beefing with Drake. Drake never dated Rihanna and has been obsessed over her for 15 years. Drake dissed Rocky on at least 2 songs on his albums and dissed Rihanna on his last album. So he acts like he hates her, then he loves her. Outside of this drama over Rihanna, I wish A$AP would of took his solo music career more serious after Yam$ passed. I know it took a lot out of him, but it was hard for a lot of early fans like myself to listen to him cause the creativity of his music severely declined after his first album. Realistically there was so only so much he could do for The Mob, Lord$ Never Worry was a classic tape that I had in heavy rotation back in high school, but after 2015 when Rocky’s 2nd album dropped it just wasn’t the same anymore. Salute to him making an impact in the fashion world, and I’m glad Rocky is still getting booked at all the big festivals.
Rocky's music has been good all the way through IMO. His ALLA album is great. Testing is already being called a masterpiece by some people cause Rocky pushed his creativity to the limit. But today people just want watered down generic music and Rocky is too far ahead. His albums will be more appreciated in the coming years. I love old school rap and Rocky is one of the only rappers I like today.

I worked in the industry and have family who are musicians. Testing is actually a really good album, which will be appreciated more in the coming years.
@@mical7582 what people don’t realize is that by the time Testing came out in 2018 the process on how music was perceived was influenced heavily by the internet. So if someone with some influence says it’s fire, then that’s what the masses roll with. If someone with influence says it’s trash, then the masses will say it’s trash. Music taste has became obscured so that’s why people don’t know how to indentify or even take the time to listen to a full body of work when they hear it. You have people who really think For All The Dogs is the best thing Drake has ever dropped. It’s all from people being too caught up in social media hype, people having either a short attention span, and a lot of these people who have popular opinions are super young, and haven’t really done their research or history when it comes to listening and artists catalog.
