I enjoyed the movie. I heard mixed reception from people I follow on RU-vid, some like it and some dislike it, but I surprisingly thought it was good. People complain nothing happens in it except people being quiet for 90 mins but they don’t realize is that less is more and the story doesn’t have to be deep to get us invested in what happens. People expect lore dumps, action sequences, plot twists, and other stuff but they clearly don’t understand that films don’t need to be complicated to give substantial value.
I’m actually happy we got to follow brand new characters. If they had just used the same characters we saw in the last two movies, I feel like that would’ve lessened the tension as we know they’re going to be fine by the end.
@@luigielite6857 That's a very good point. Although Emmett talked about his Wife dying. Plus we could see that he clearly went through some really bad stuff. So I think a movie showing HIS journey would be interesting.
They introduced a Death Angel queen in this film called the Elder Death Angel. It was that big one that opened the egg thing for the others to eat. Meaning the smaller ones are drones and possibly offspring to queens or kings or whatever their hierarchy is. The Death Angels are the modern version of the Xenomorphs basically. And despite its 30-40 second cameo, it’s cool to see a new variant of the alien species. I didn’t even catch it was a queen. But upon watching videos and seeing it was so big it’s head was reaching Joseph Quinn’s character’s spot I finally realized it wasn’t a typical Death Angel and it’s a variant and the Queen/Elder of the race. Or at least one queen of probably many other hives and nests throughout the world. Really fascinating stuff.
While a lot of people including myself have ragged on the “overdoing” of sequels, spinoffs, etc in recent times, I also believe that sometimes it can work and they can be good. Just respect the original movie/source and don’t be Disney. lol.
Exactly it was right next to the pizzeria that was heavily damaged that’s why he marked the box with the name of the more fancy place they were at. It was the thought that counted
What would’ve maybe helped the problem with the cat staying quiet is if it was one that had a condition where it has no vocal cords so therefore it couldn’t make noise even if it wanted to. A lot of service pets have had conditions like that or something similar.
Big ups to you eric and your awesome analysis as always Ive actually only watched the first quiet place and it was without subtitles so I didn't understand much of what was happening But the visual storytelling of the movie was so good that I was still interested even without understanding much of the dialogue Because of this review, I might re-watch the first then watch the 2nd and this one
Just saw it at the drive in Sunday night. And like you said doesn't hold the candle to the first quiet place and part 2 And despite some flaws. I really liked it. 7.5 or 8/10
Hey eric,i just finished watching the movie in theatre's myself lol. Honestly, personally i rate it a 6.5/i agree with u when u said sameer/whatever the main character's name was,is a bit too mean, and also the movie (atleast in my opinion) did a VERY good job of making me tense up and worry for the character's.Overall,i agree with mostly everything u said in this review ESPECIALLY the cat there is no way realistically the cat should have meowed several different time's
This movie... this movie was everything I could've asked for. The first A Quiet Place is my 5th favorite movie ever made, and this one, to me, was as good as that. I adored this movie from beginning to end. Step aside Dune Part 2, Second place has gone quiet.
I also noticed that in the movie, Alex Wolff’s character does something really dumb in this movie. I won’t say what happened, but I thought it was very dumb.
I was actually very impressed with this movie I'm not a fan of prequels but this one was very acceptable personally I give it a 7/10 and u mentioned a dumb Jumpscare if u meant the dream scare u would be surprised that one actually got a scream out of a girl beside me
Honestly, my mother is really looking forward to seeing the third one. She loves the first one. She was super pointed with the second one with the ending. But she's really excited to see it, including Me, I guess. But anyways, let me know if it's good and it's really scary And also, should I watch It like? I'm thinking about watching and seeing it for myself
I'm sorry to say that the cat in this film is soooooo unrealistic. If this happened for real, the cat would have almost instantly died or ran off (cats panic very easily).
