May I remind you guys that some of the Unknown Gun men attacking police stations in Enugu state were confirmed to be police men, some fulani herders too with some of our own Igbo people. We dont have respect for the rule of law in this country. It is the responsibility of the inspector General of police and commissioner of police to investigate and arrest persons responsible for the murder of the military personnel not soldiers; its not within their jurisdiction to be honest. Can the military defend itself, yes but beyond a state of emergency declared by the president or the outbreak of a international conflict or an internal conflict where the president has by an order directed their intervention, the military lacks the powers to arrest and detain citizens. If they possess the tactical and technological prowess to carry out investigations then they must work with the police to track down civil offenders, and when they arrest any offender that person must be handed over to the Nigerian police.
