You might be wondering why I didn’t mention bacteria as a cause of RTN and why I didn’t go in depth about certain treatments. Consider this video as Part 1. I will make another STN and RTN video in the future.👊
This is how looks like video for reefers. No yelling, no big statement, no clickbait, no garbage. Very relaxing and very great content. Definitly one of the best salty channels ever. You do a great job
Been a hardcore reefer with SPS tanks for years and I recently subscribed to your channel due to the awesome content and format! Like any real reefer, no matter how much success you have, knowledge you know, you always have the ability to learn more and be more successful!
Old school reefer here, been out of the hobby for 5 years. Your channel and content is easily my favorite out there. Well done. Looking forward to getting back in it, especially after watching your motivating content.
Brian Daugherty his stuff is fantastic in content and science and thoughtfulness. I can think of one who thinks this is to highbrow for them that would even consider much less actually give a thumbs down. If I could, I’d give this 10 thumbs up.
ATF intheHouse I agree with everything you said he has a lot of knowledge and experience to go with it his tank speak for themselves jealousy is a horrible thing.
Ur production of this video is probably one of the best outthere when u where at the table i was waiting for the lamp to start flickering like a horror movie 👍🏽😁
By far the best content for stick heads (as well as reefers in general). Clear info backed by experience and well explained. No wild claims or miracle solutions. Love your vids. Would love to see some tank vids and something about fish for acro tanks
Bro the talent you have and the communication skills and knowledge you have are impeccable. Truly laughed out loud when I saw the IRS letter like it was all a dream!!! haha I’m learning so much from your videos thank you!
Lol the ending of this video just happened to me... letter from the IRS...damn! Dude the wax seal on the letter is awesome, this video's message is on point. Excellent production quality as usual. Well done Abe
Loved the content and the way it was explained. Have been watching your content for a while and today became a subscriber of your channel. Thanks for the info bud.. 👌🙏👍
Very impressed...as one of your new subs I look forward to future content. I'm always looking to better myself at this hobby that I'm absolutely MAD about and its because of channels like this that give me the to tools to do so! Your channel could be one of the best... keep it up!!
Done subs once upon a time long long time ago mate... every time you rock youtube with interesting topics in the related field... a huge hug 🤗 from Malaysia.
For real, that was a real good video, that channel for Acropora was my inspiration to go on more or less only Acropora! - Thanks for all the videos, and this one aswell - Greetings from Germany ;-)
The master speaks. Love this channel! The only other thing I would do if you really can't figure out rtn or stn is an ipc test. Started losing colonies while say, my walt Disney had every colour of the rainbow and was fine. Test came back and tin was off the charts, barium off the charts. Phosphorus way too high, while my phosphate test kit was saying 0.02. The only thing we can't be in control of is the salt make up.
This is a wonderful video friend. Thank you for your content and hard work for the hobby. Your tank is a true beauty. I loved your advise of tank maturity. It was not until my tank hit 1 year that it is now thriving so well. Thank you again.
That was best advice that anyone as gave here on RU-vid. And probably on the all internet. Well said my friend. Proud to subscribe to your channel. If you ever come to Israel I will be happy to meet you. Well done with this video 👌
What up Abe. I'm watching this video not because I have RTN or STN but to remind me to keep things simple. It seems like the more experience I get with acropora the harder it is to keep it simple in my mind. I have to come back and watch your videos again from time to time. I started dosing amino’s. I did it for a few weeks until I got dinos. Then I got the bottle of amino’s and threw it in the trash. I always think " just a little bit won't hurt anything " nope I'm wrong. Lol. Keeping things simple is probably the hardest thing to do sometimes. But I'm glad your videos are always here to remind me.
Great video! And you're right. I'm just now after 1.5 months, seeing the results of using Anti Red followed by a nutrient spike. I lost my hyacinthos, but I've stopped the TN on other corals by dipping them in lugols and using a water color brush to clean, in the iodine dip, the infected area. Seems to have helped.
some good input there. i had a dkH of 12.5 a few weeks ago… and stopped dosing due to the overdose. now down to 9… 😩. i think my buffer was the cause of the current stn that i’m facing.
Your synthesis of all the information out there is refreshing. While I'm here - do you have any experience 'seeding' a new tank with biodiversity (e.g., pods, phytoplankton, bacteria) and how this may support SPS health - both in new tanks, and mature ones?
I don't have experience cycling or seeding a tank with those products claiming to do that these days like bacteria. I never bought pods by themselves.. I think phyto doesn't make any sense at all. When I start a new tank, I usually seed my dry rock with rock from an established tank. Even if it's a piece of rock connected to a soft coral that I see in the store with lots of other life on it, I will buy it just for the biodiversity, even if I don't care for the coral itself. I also take advantage of all the things that come with macroalgae (obviously can also come with bad, like majanos and aiptasia). Snail shells and hermits also come with stuff on them, unfortunately vermetid snails are part of that, but in some way, those add to the biodiversity. Biodiversity is probably great in any tank.
Hey, Love you videos and you obviously put alot of time and effort into them which I appreciate. I was wondering if you could throw in video of straight acro eye candy every week or so, so we can see more content(your corals are amazing and I feel a video like that would be much less time consuming).
Hi bro, you are amazing. It's hard to find something as awesome and useful as your channel on RU-vid. May I share the links to your video on our local sea forum ?
