I have a theory: the nether roof “afterlife” wasn’t the actual afterlife, it was an illusion created by the parasites to keep her in check, keeping her from respawning, fully assimilating her
As cool as the mod is I've always felt like it's wildly unbalanced. The adaptations the parasites gain make killing them nearly impossible after a while and they seem to spawn naturally way too often. I know that's probably the point but after getting essentially locked in your house cause there was a whole army of them outside your front door, it can really put a dampener on your want to keep playing.
Agreed. It feels like you need this mod within a modpack to beat it... But on the topic of unbalanced mod, I saw the other day a video about "From Another World" Mod. Its sort of like SRP but original, that is, it's about the Thing from The Thing. It is balanced to be beatable in normal minecraft.
that's why you got mods like techguns or divineRPG or any other mods with it? also, in this mod you are NOT at the top of the food chain anmore, you are almost at the BOTTOM of it and the phases don't progress like in the video, giving you enough time to prepare
@@dragonashly3383 yeah thats cool but like. maybe a mod shouldn't expect me to install some other weird mod alongside it just for it to be even remotely playable.
the mod developers intended for it to be hard- but yeah i agree there should be a vanilla friendly mode so you dont have to go downloading 20 armory mods, and the only excuse the devs give is "edit the configs" but shrug.. maybe when the mod is entirely finished and being ported to other versions it won't be as unfair for more vanilla oriented players? who knows
srp forces you to prepare for the parasites as soon as you spawn in, if you dont use your time wisely you could be extremely under prepared using a lure as soon as another phase starts will set a cooldown until the parasites can level up to the next phase again, no matter what lure you use, so keep that in mind
Glad to see you covering this mod! I love the concept, even if the artstyle isn't quite as minecrafty as I'd like. Next, I'd love to see you cover Cobblemon! Its basically Pixelmon but the models actually fit into Minecraft. Its been really fun when I've played!
Personally I love the artstyle! It fits the flavour of "alien beings infecting your world", without just having a zillion polygons like most of RLCraft's mobs. It *does* change the artstyle quite a bit, but I feel like most of them- at least the earlygame ones- don't stray too far from the way Minecraft's models work.
@@justseffstuff3308 that's actually a really cool way to look at it! I'd never considered how the artstyle actually fits the concept, moreso just the game. I wasn't saying it was bad either, far from it! The overly gory and creepy style really fits the mod's difficulty and design.
6:25 WTF actually terrifying!! the silence before the terror the pokemon dying music certainly didn't help omgggg :'O the sheer *PANIC* I felt in that moment
Heya! Glad you played our mod! Loved the thumbnail art! If I were to recommend anything for if you were to play this again- it would to be to take your time, prepare and do NOT rush the phases. The beginning phases are essential for preparation! But all in all, I think you did a beautiful job at displaying our mod! Thanks!
I think you’d like the Tropicraft dimension. It’d be a nice vacation after this. Plus, you’ll love this, the creepers there explosions just spread flowers and don’t destroy blocks!
Squiddo is diving deep into Eldritch Horrors? Sweet! Then may I suggest for another episode the Gigeresque Mod? :) It's about Xenomorph, a really well made yet underrated mod. Keep up the great work! :D It's always a joy to see a release.
Thank you, Squiddo, for saving me from the horrifying claws of the beast: Boredom. Your hand reached me like an angels hand from the blue, bright skies.I could feel the darkness leaving my body as right as I saw your video. I commanded my finger to touch the screen without thinking. Thank you for this beatiful video. Thank you for blessing me with your voice and your high pitch screams. With lots of respect; -one of your followers That was too majestic for me to handle 💀
Squiddo, I am a expert in the scape and run parasietes mod, don't go to any animals with call of the hive because you will infect the animals and some hostile mobs like zombies, Enderman and spiders. If you enchant anything with fire aspect and a bow with flame it would deal double damage to any parasites. And inflected Enderman are a LITERAL PAIN IN THE BUT TO KILL.
Tip some parasites can try to get out of lava to not die btw some blocks parasites can't brake and those names tags are ncps that got infected they will spawn any time but they are not friendy but they are slow some parasites can be hit by storms btw that is a bad meaning because they will be buff and one shot you in one hit they are called adapted it is a buff version of the parasite
There's a mod you can get that adds ruined cities, it even has a version where the entire world is a city. I played that with scape n run and a few other mods and I had a lot of fun :D
it would be cool if you messed about with immersive portals, its not a survival-y mod but you can mess with loads of stuff and make mind-clumbering creations
played this mod once, it was actually pretty cool with how many different items and parasites there are, even better when i see my favorite youtuber play it.
@7:04: I'd probably be screaming my head off and swimming away as fast as possible (i would probably also have the decency to help anyone else being attacked, but I probably would be too scared to actually fight if I didn't need to). I have a lot of trouble with anxiety so seeing these nightmares in real life would make it rather difficult for me to think clearly.
The problem with going into the parasite mod is that adding it basically means you want to be Abused, you signed the papers and are ready to get yeeted. Quite literally *This mod doesn't know what fairness is and that's what makes the Mod feel quite real. I didn't expect it to ever be easy when looking at these creatures that adapt.* Once they reach a certain stage, it becomes so difficult to keep up with them especially with the fact they can destroy buildings, easily shred your arnor, some can camo, some can fly, leap, etc.
ForgeLabs survived 100 days with this mod (+ a few other extra mods), discovering some very strange things, like a parasite beacon that levels up overtime. I think they were using an updated version of the mod.
the mods immersive engineering/intelligence/petroleum has some VERY OP automated turrets that has proven to be very effective against Parasites. I had a world that is set to Parasite Phase *SIX* (i can't go any higher coz my pc tends to lag when i do that), nearly every strongest Parasite mobs spawn naturally there, BUT the automated Emplacement Weapon Turrets from the aforementioned mods has always kept them at bay. also add the Techguns mod it has some very powerful guns AND the means to put those guns into turrets as well.
also hbm's nuclear tech mod adds a hammer that oneshots anything regardless of stuff like 'damage caps', because instead of dealing damage it just deadass sets their health to 0. its not feasible to obtain before the parasites take over, though, and it slows you down.
Holy crap- I wasn't expecting Squiddo to cover the Parasite Mod I guess anything is possible Good job trying to survive Squiddo 👍 I hope your time in...Hell? Is pleasant with Wolfy XD
I'm just happy that "Recycling is a Concept!" was included Edit: I love the idea that Squiddo (Minecraft) is just going around filming videos about these spooky things and is just getting killed and revived constantly to film more. Edit 2: Are we just going to ignore the fact that there's and ocean monument in the background at 6:52?
i remember recommending this mod to squiddo 3 months ago i wonder if she saw my comment she probably honestly didnt but i'd like to believe she did, i still havent watched it but i'm very excited!
I think wolfy was in fact infected after that one encounter cause if you get call of the hive it means a parasite you were close to is calling for help and all other parasites know your location when the debuff is applied.
BTW, the way you were playing it was insane mode, going up a phase EVERY DAY!!!? The parasites normally take a super long time to reach phase 8, like late-game.
fun fact: i dont believe scape and run parasites was created to be beaten, because of: damage adaptation (a few hits will add up to 100% damage resistance) a minimum amount of hits required to kill a mob fire doesnt work that well and the parasites can adapt to it infected endermen teleport ANYTHING to YOU the adapted+ mobs can BARELY be killed in a 1v1 and there will be more than 1 of them due to the endermen some of the parasites can kill you with 100% DR (no kidding lol) oh and also you cant craft the infected gear from the mod (at least yet) at least the configs exist for the mod to nerf it
My skills are about as well off as yours against them xD all I can recommend is using both of the main Spartans mods. The one that adds lots of weapons, and the one that adds custom shields
Nice use of the OMORI ost squiddo I genuinely have a obsession with OMORI and I'm glad that the game is still getting attention (for better or for worse)
5:00 As The Sun Sets On Day Four. The Moon Rises On Day Five.. Probably The Worst Day Of My Life :I... THAT RIMES SOO. PERFECT NOT SURE IF YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE :D/10
Squiddo you should have used a backport mod to have the swimming update, textures and whatever though most backports to 1.12.2 only have to 1.17 but you can find ones that go to 1.19 too
