I'm looking at starting as a sniper. Primarily because I'm disabled. I can walk, albeit with a limp, but I physically can not run around. So I need a play style that lets me go slow or stay put. I also don't want to slow team mates down and annoy them, so I need to play more or less solo.
@hms_dreadnought1936
@hms_dreadnought1936 10 месяцев назад
Thats the problem, many people think that sniping doesn’t involve running around. Thats wrong, sniping involves moving around as well, just in another way. Instead of moving into close quarters and running around, you have to often switch positions, get to places that are hard to get to and often it includes moving into buildings too. All those things would give you a hard time with a limp. As good-meant advise, I think an LMG would be easier to play for you. Also, thats not meant as a restriction, its your decision anyways, but playing airsoft with a disability is very risky. I have a slightly misdeveloped leg, and I already had massive problems, including a broken ankle which took ages to properly heal. Airsoft, especially outdoors, often requires you to move over obstacles. So be really careful, otherwise your disability might turn into something much worse.

@@hms_dreadnought1936 I never said that snipers don't move. I'm well aware they do. But they can move as and when they see fit when operating solo. I simply don't want to hold back people by being in a squad and slowing them down. Being support fire is another play style I'm considering. Though honestly seems less fun, plus as I said, I don't want to hold other players back and as heavy support I would often need to be in a team. But I'd give it a try at least.

you should try a support role. Helps your teammates by suppressing fire, and doesn’t consist of moving around

sniper kit requires a lot of experience to be effective for game modes with objectives. Like video games, atart with the basics, an AEG of your favorite platform and use the iron sights and build your loadout from there as you zero in on what your playstyle is but if you really want to be a sniprr you have a steep learning curve ahead, just preserve through it.

I used to snipe at my old field, at a different field these days and I find an AEG / GBB with a 4x or 1-6x LPVO is much better. dense foliage means those ultra long shots don't really happen and often you're better off with volume over precision.

I'm sorry but saying that basic military training helps you move in a stealth like manner is a crock of shit. Yes, basic military training teaches people how to move on terrain/land nav.. But, that's moving as a part of a main force component.. Snipers generally go through a 8 to 13 week course to learn how to move whilst not being seen. Even then it takes them further training and experience to move through cover and not be seen or heard.

Very simple reason to not start as a sniper: -It has the most limitations of airsoft. Low ammo, slow fire, minimum engagement distances, etc. -Sure AEG's might not be super cool but they let you play however you want just at slightly shorter distances
@patthonsirilim5739
@patthonsirilim5739 Месяц назад
its not even that much shorter airsoft unlike real life really favors aeg a quality sniper rifle shooting 0.40 bbs is effective up to about 50 meters while aeg shooting .28 is effective up to 40meters so you only get 10 maybe 15 extra meters at a massive cost in size rate of fire and ammo and those range arent even that relevent since aeg could still engage you at 50 meter by hosing and supressing down your position.

I listened to the advice for 3 years into the hobby/sport and after getting a sniper, I think they are the best beginner gun. I don't care what you say Here's some reasons Entry level sniping is cheap No need for charging batteries or buying gas Snipers are very easy to upgrade compared to v2/v3 gearboxes I have never seen a sniper just completely break but m4s and aks do all the time You can learn to use cover and your environment when you snipe You don't use as many bbs while practicing and playing so while sniper bbs cost more they last a while Also with the amount of gbb pistols I have bought and had break, I could have just got a nice sniper that wouldn't let me down. I feel that sniping is the most fun and affordable option for a player who has any experience with a bolt gun. Also every other gun can get boring to play with in the back yard but with a sniper you can shoot literally anything and its never boring.

You have to change hu arm to well designed 3d printed, make barrel hu hole bigger to fit x-range bucking, make tdc mod, add barrel stabilizers, increase piston weight and a lot of oher things. Not beginer frendly in my opinion.

gotta be kidding 🤣 entry sniper lvl is cheap.but useless, gonna spend $$$$$$$$ to make it worth...... AEG are super easy to upgrade as well and you dont need to invest that much for greater performance compare to sniper Sniper broke as much as Aeg or any other kind 😅 you can learn to use cover and your environment when playing with aeg😅 unless you are a happy trigger, you dont over shoot.... and for 25$ a 4000 bbs...... i mean if you cant afford that why playing, it last long enought for a good season at least. gbb pistol are good if you buy the right one, but i guess you invested too much in your sniper😅 you can shoot literraly everything with a aeg gun and its never boring, guess thats a skills issue from.your side😂

I started as an airsoft sniper and really enjoyed it, but there's a couple of asterisks to that. I'm not part of the more mainstream community; I play with a small group of friends, and we can do more complex scenarios such as uneven teams with dynamic objectives (ex. group of six, no extra lives, must capture a point, then defend it for fifteen minutes while you wait for a "supply drop" of "explosives", then use those explosives to destroy an objective, then exit the combat zone safely, opposition forces are three to four people who respawn infinitely but don't know the strike team's objectives, and just have a general instruction of defending a general region of the map) on an honor system. There's one guy who writes a bunch of missions for us every time we meet but doesn't play himself so that everyone would be going into the scenarios with equal (zero) specific preparations. We also have a truly massive area of play (~750 acres of land in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of old ruined buildings scattered across it), making long-range engagements much more prevalent. Finally, I didn't play sniper because I thought it would be cool - I played it expecting the challenge of having to sneak around a lot, and having to wait around a lot especially on the defending team. Sure, I might not get more than one kill in six hours - but given that our single matches sometimes ran for six hours, that was pretty much everybody, whether or not they were holding a sniper rifle. Most of the game was fog of war chess, not a first person shooter, and everyone there understood that and wanted it that way. I'd imagine that in a faster paced game with a smaller environment, trying to play a sniper would suck.

I say that even if you want to start off with airsoft sniping, getting a DMR style BB slinger is more flexibile than the traditional bolt actions. Anywho, when you start picking up good spots to set up shop with a longer range rifle and start being what snipers are in airsoft: Area denial and target pickers, you are on good route of becoming a valuable sniping asset and the cool guy you dserve to be. I started with a Sniper. What my experience is that you need to be super patient and practice shooting in a range. know the map your going in and the lay of the land. Snipers is really about moving in unexpecting areas, flank, and thinking out side of the box. You need to expect your going to die alot and mostly use your side arm to get where you need to go. But once you know where people are going to go and if you have a ghillie suit that is dress up for the field your playing in. Its super rewarding hitting your shots and have players walk pass you without them seeing you. to get to this point its about a year of playing airsoft as a sniper. Your going to fail alot, die and change your Ghillie. Some times I just go in with only a side arm and a rubber knife just to practice hiding, sneaking where I want to go. How I want to get there and test how effected my ghillie is. This part just takes planning and patients. But it you expect to be a Pro and never die as Sniper isn't for you. For new players if you want to running around, shoot and have fun play with a LMG. But, if your a player like me want a challenge be a Sniper.

Due to license requirements in my country I've only played airsoft once. Being a HFT, FT and 100m air rifle shooter normally, I was given a sniper replica because "you know how to shoot long range"... it was nothing but frustration for me. I had too little range time with that rifle to get a good feel for it. Shooting an HFT/FT rig with a made-for-purpose scope and the whole works is quite a long way off from someone's old sniper setup. I guess I was too greedy most of the time, airsoft BBs just do not handle distance like a .177 pellet, never mind a .308 slug. I had issues dealing with wind, spiraling BBs and just how slow an airsoft BB actually goes. The amount of compensation for wind, drop and lead is just a bit silly to me. After being called a bad shot by some of my supposed team mates, I got the chance to shoot on the range at the field with my FT rig. And that just got them to talk crap about my friend for giving me a bad replica. I'm pretty sure the problem was more that airsoft just isn't for me. I can see why people like it, but it's just not for me. I prefer my targets to be inanimate and stationary and I guess I'm spoiled in a way when it comes to my competition air rifles, it's just a different ball game.

I started with a sniper and although I'm not beginning as a great player, for me the low number of kills I do get are satisfying enough to justify the many many deaths I get. It's airsoft after all just run back and try again.

Don’t forget that many of them are heavy by the way, weights you down in no time. Down in my place most people use blowback pistols due to the fast paced gameplay it often has. Specifically, most that I see people use in my region are modified Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 blowback pistols.

I haven’t tried Airsoft, but all weapon-based games work best for me as a sniper because I’m in no means skilled enough to run around with an AEG/AR without getting shot 15,000,000 times. Also, I’m capable of just materialising behind someone and silent sneaking if my shoes are memory foam soles/any other soft material.

I started with sniping Starting airsoft with sniping... was surprisingly fun, for me atleast. Learning how to be a sniper was a big learning curve, I decided to challenge myself so I learned how to move as a sniper and be effective, I kept getting hit more than I landed shots, it was always thrilling for me to find new strategies and ways to move around in the field. This is not for everyone though. Some like to move more into the action with AEG's and that is understandable. In my experience I kept missing shots, kept rushing things, if you dont have the patience for learning from failures over and over and MANY times again, dont start with sniping. Sniping in airsoft sure does look nice from RU-vid and others doing it but they got experience and also still do mistakes, you cant always expect where a shot is going to land Slowly, I got alright at it, still my playstyle to this day, I'm nowhere near as good as most snipers yet. Over time I also saved up and upgraded to a ssg96, that thing is real nice. Keep in mind: I'm not suggesting this playstyle to starters and I'm not putting it down either, its all down to the player, what role they want. You are the only person that enjoys your own role at the end of the day, each role has their own things to learn, sniping is just one of the more difficult ones to learn. This is why it is not suggested to start with. You will get frustrated and potentially quit airsoft. I decided to make this comment as I was inspired by old videos of Nov a few years back and got into sniping, it is tough so I decided to share my experience to show what to expect cause I had clue what I was in for... Hope this helps.

I managed to sneak to Enemy with an AEG. Waiting for one or two person coming close taking shoots and reposition. Took me 1 houre to sneak to the posting took out 3 guys in 20min before I got noticed and killed but it was worth the feeling and works with and AEG as well 😊

I started with an M14 AEG, worst decision ever, as DMRs are not allowed on the field I play and also not many parts for that rifle, generally very uncomfortable AEG. 3 games later I already had SSG10 A3. Best decision ever! Had some difficulty finding the perfect side arm and setup. Now also I have SSP5 and an M4 pistol with extended inner stock and foldable stock for mid range which I purchased from another place and upgraded. Generally I am happy with Nov products, and SSG10 is pretty easily upgraded.

I started with it. I must admit it wasnt easy, even with experience with real steel sniper rifles from shooting ranges. But I don't regret it.

as first timer Airsofter last year, i started with AR, built it to be a DMR later, to see if i would like being a "sniper" and now i am a Sniper having a SSG10. to be a sniper takes patience, and not be a Trigger happy dude shooting everything you see, that job goes to the MG guys who has a ton of bullets to spare in the mag. being a sniper and having a MG shooting at ya, is a bad day to be a sniper belive me, but the Adrealine is high, seeing tiny branches and leafs and hearing bullets fly and hit around you non stop, yeah that is no fun for a sniper. as a Sniper i usualy have a "Spotter" with me, with AR for support just in case things goes south or not as planned. so the spotter also have to be even more patience, so we switch sometimes just to allow eachother to shoot if it gets too boring. my first big Airsoft game, epic. 120 vs 120 or so guys, i had no ammo left. and one guy had one mag left hiding behind a rock, and allowed me to borrow his gun to take out a gunner within a vehicle, the hit was so tiny trough the gunner hole but that was satisfying because it was the last bullet and game ended just 5 minutes after.

You can snipe with a short AEG, but it's really hard to roll a flank or clear a trench with a sniper rifle. In airsoft, sniping is a play style, not a loadout. There are so few differences in raw performance in airsoft. If you get good at marksmanship and sniping with an AEG, get a sniper rifle and don't cheap out loo much. I usually play with a shotgun, FWIW. I used an AK for a long time, too... and my play style was very sniper or DMR focused.

got my first sniper from a used things shoppe. still need a new scope (previous owner face planted with it and broke the scope. otherwhise the gun was in good conditions). costed me 100 euros and funily enough you can even spot it in this video (not my gun but the exact model. its the one from the scope falling off clips).

the thing that people dont understand, is that the snipers role is way more centered around patience and strategy. If you don't understand those concepts of being a sniper, and the role of the sniper, you'll simply get mowed down by a random rifleman. Snipers on the battlefield outside airsoft play a specific role, it's hard to jump into a team based, fast paced airsoft match and dominate easily

Problem is i dont know any airsofters personally, and the slow gameplay is what I want. I don't want to be on the front lines, id much rather stay behind and provide support instead of getting high kill counts

A sniper needs a spotter and backup, you can't do it alone. If you really want something long range, get a G3 and short range scope with 1x-4x magnification and call it a day. That way it can function as a regular rifle, with the added bonus of medium range. You won't shoot at 5x, let alone 9x zoom.

I bought 3 broken Sniperrifles for 80 bucks and Frankensteined 1 out of them. Haven't used it and probably never will. I just like looking at it. The satisfaction of a graveyard build. Friend of mine bought the exact same Sniperrifle I Frankensteined new. He played it like twice.

True, True, but after youve played at a field for over a year and you consistently get cut down by snipers cuz its longer engagement range in lots of woods. sitting back with an upgraded rifle sounds nice, and if I get bored, I can use my ar I started with

I played in a few airsoft games with my friends, one of my friend asked me if I wanted to borrow his sniper rifle because he knew I always played sniper in video games and was quite good at it. My answer was "No. I'm sticking with you guys. I barely know how to play airsoft, I'm not going out there hunting people without getting familiar with the game first. "

Im starting as a rifleman kit but i dont play all the rounds in the day cause i run alot in a round and i cant run the next round. Im most likely gonna get a sniper from you guys so i can continue playing but not be in the frount lines. We have a more narrow feild so you can find some really great positions especially when you crawl through the dense part on the side of the field.

problem with airsoft is that most decent aeg are only good for 35m in effective range and snipers are only about 10-15 meter better then aegs but you trade size agility firepower and rapid fire for effectivly a 25% increase in effective range and those only relevent if your buying quality airsoft sniper like what he said movement placement and patients is far more important for an airsoft sniper you would have to always be the first to shoot and hit you simply cant engage in a fire fight with aeg shooter they could pin and hose you down with there unlimited ammo.

A snipers job isn't just to kill but also to watch the back of other players on their team, and if you use radios to communicate with teammates, to relay vital information regarding what the other team is doing.
