I believe Allah takes away their pain. For shuhadas there is Hadith stating they barely feel any pain, less than a bug bite. Another example is the Palestinian kid who was stabbed 26 times by a racist mad man here in ths US, told her mom "I am fine" as his last words @@birhanjommy. So my belief is Allah takes care of them in a way that humans cannot comprehend. I hope that relieves you.
