As always a good topic and thanks for your opinion on this subject. I am a child of the cold war. My father fought in World War Two, Korea and Viet Nam. He was forced to retire after almost 30 years in the military, first in the Army during WW2 and Korea. Then in the Air Force as Security Patrol for Strategic Air Command guarding Nuke bombs on air bases. I am well aware of the doctrine we were taught about the Soviets. But I also am a huge history buff and have thoroughly researched the contributions of the Russian People during the Great Patriotic War. It was the Russian People despite Stalin and the Communists that defeated the Nazi's. It was not communism, but the great heart and determination of the people. No amount of credit is enough to thank the sacrifices the Russian People suffered to win World War Two. Thanks for sharing this topic, more people need to separate the people from the governments. Chris
Although I do welcome your aspirations in your comment, i would say that very many what you know about Stalin and Communism is just stories from your school books, written by antisoviet and russophobic haters. Things were much more complicated back then.
The multinational Soviet people won under the leadership of Stalin and precisely due to the communist system of planning and distribution of resources. You didn't study history well.
America as in the American people don't hate Russia perhaps our stupid government but not all the Americans. And especially now that we can see through the lies of our media . I pray that somehow we will come to peace with Russia. And stop this madness.
Yes as said in the video it’s not everyone but it’s how it worked through the decades. Thanks for watching and commenting please consider sharing the video please
I agree with you about the obvious lies by our corporate medias.. but dont underestimate the power of mass ignorance and mass indoctrination.. my older brother..an ex Marine.. is an avid Russian hater 😂 and he really thinks US forces will easily march thru Moscow like in operation Babarossa... Too much superiority complex combined with ignorance by the cannonfodder class is dangerous..
As a North American I was brainwashed from birth to live in fear of the USSR. As a young adult I decided to travel to USSR and see for myself what the people thought. Russians - I realized - had no intention of going to war with us or even dislike us. From that day I decided I would no longer let any anti-russian propaganda have influence on me. I have returned to Russia many times, I love Russia and do not fear that country and the people. President Putin is not a war monger. 💘💝💖❤🩹
Beautiful story thanks for sharing it thanks for watching this video please consider sharing it. Ps I’m happy that you yourself saw the flaws in the mass brain washing and that you emancipated your brain from such things
👏👏👏🔝🔝🔝❤ Pretty right: go and see if one can! Most Russians are very generous and friendly people.. And I cannot see anything wrong on the fact that they LOVE their country, their rich and wonderful culture, sweet language! Most of them are real believers. They really don' t want to steal other countries as THEIR OWN country is laaaarge! And beautiful!!! 😍🥰Thanks for your testimony: what the West is told ,is all false!!!
As Westerners, we don't hate Russia. As a matter of fact, quite the opposite. Prayers and thoughts with the people of Russia and victims of the 22.03.24 terrorist attacks.
It's still going on. I'm Russian leaving in the USA. My daughter died two years ago , she has two daughters. And the oldest one 9 years old started to learn russian. It's not my idea, it's her dad who is American. A couple of days ago she asked him why she is learning russian if Russians are bad. This is what school teaches at school now. He just said ,russians are not bad , their president is bad. I just was speechless. @Wild-Siberia
I'm Greek and i love Tsar Vladimir💖 He's a Patriot, he knows History,he loves Orthodox Church and respects other Religion, he respects Family with Mother and Father! Not parent no1 and parent no2 of Victoria Nuland and Joe Beiden...😏 Or EE!! I understand completely his fears for Lgbtq+ community and the corruption of young people. Stay strong Vladimir! Give'm the lesson they need. They're not going to stop until you'll be defeated. Destroy Babylon!
Do you think it's right for Russia to invade Ukraine? It my be Portugal one day then see how you feel. I hate the thought of any wars but we live in a world we're mad men are in charge.
@@Wild-Siberia I know that I'm pissed at my government for not being able to lie to us better and that I'm finding myself smitten with Russia and Putin...the brainwashing runs so deep,.part of me recoils at the thoughts 😅 But I'm so very thankful for the Interview with Tucker and Putin...with his 30 minute lecture on the history of Russia it made me realize I know Nothing of Russia, and so I have set out to learn as much as I can, and I am loving it so far...
You are absolutely right and most people in America and the Western world don't even know who this demonic entity is. She may well have set us all on the course for WWIII. This is no exaggeration on my part ,just pure basic logic.
Robbed Island in south africa where that over rated black, nelson mandela spent inadequate time. There is a statue from the latter, she can spend all her time kissing his arse
As a kid I was made to believe that Siberia is the worst place of the world. Today I know people who have lived there or want to go and live there and they all say it is an incredible beautiful place. So there was propaganda, even while there was no war. Nowdays propaganda is worse than ever. Thank you for this beautiful video which brings Unity rather Division.
Well, THIS American LOVES Russia! It’s people, AND their leader! Yes, I’m rootin’ for Putin, and I’m totally proud to say so. Peace and prosperity to my Russian brothers and sisters! Stay strong, and don’t be misled by Western politicians who just want to destroy Russia, and divide up the spoils.
What I hate is that the West basically doesn't care what Russia did for the world during WW2, without their amazing perseverance, willpower, and determination to beat the enemy, all of Europe would be speaking German
👏👏👏. And how many millions of victims! 😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤..In RF there Is no family that didn' t lose a grandfather, father, brother... In 2 ND WW!!! They, on the contr., never forget and hate nazis!!!
Piotr Tolstoi said in his last interview with bfmtv : in WW2, France gave up after 40 days of fighting while Russia fought for 4 years and reached Berlin before any other country. Guess what, Macron wants to send French soldiers to Ukraine and fight against Russia. Human beings can be ungrateful 😮

If in World War II, Great Britain, the United States, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union formed the Grand Alliance to fight against Germany and that was the key to victory. The Soviet Union's loss of life in World War II was astronomical: 19 million civilians and 8.7 million soldiers died. The other three countries combined did not lose a million but Soviet U lost 27 mil in total. So, where did US and others become enemies with them?
"Russia's resources will provide the United States with 300 years of comfortable existence." (c) Zbigniew Brzezinski - and when Russia refused such a generous offer, that's for sure caused hatred. It's like showing a toy to a child and then taking it away.
Yes I am from Germany and hope too! 🇺🇸🇩🇪🇷🇺 We can all be friends because many germans lived hundreds of years in russia and just cam shortly before 1990 and 2000 and North Stream 1 and 2 was built by germans and russians. Germans, Italians and Russians built Sankt Petersburg. We can all the whole world live in peace until all eternity.

Definitely worth reading the verse "The Wolf and the Lamb", it's all in it. The West considers itself a wolf with the right to have the weak. The problem is that in his hunger he confused a lamb with a bear. And definitely do not anger the phlegmatic bear, because although he eats mainly plant food and saves energy, he has a habit of eating those who interfere with him alive.
Hi, Daniel! Thanks for your position and honesty! I hope to have a chance for some interesting conversations with you on the beautiful shores of Baikal. But first I have to return alive from this damned war to my beloved Siberia. Really glad that you found new home and love there. Stay safe, and God bless your family. Michael.
It’s so interesting to hear the perspective of the people who were born at the end of the USSR. Thanks for watching this video. Thank you for showing us your point of view. Please share the video if you can it helps the channel grow.
The whole "Iron curtain" concept was invented and performed by western establishment in purpose to prevent western society from acquaintance with Soviet Union, its culture, its everyday life. We in the USSR were acquainted to western life quite well. We have books, movies, music from the west, we even made some cultural things together. When i was much younger, i have seen many western, american in particular, movies in my local cinema. All were perfectly translated and dubbed in russian by very good russian actors. Eventually I've asked my american counterpart which soviet movies did they see in cinema, they answered - none at all, never happened. And still, despite this fact, they are quite sure that they have better knowledge about Russia than, for example, i have about the US. That's the problem - you muricans are so much self-confident so this prevent you from being wise.
@@killman369547 Of course. Such a mission is hard to ignore 😁 But do you know something about the 1976 movie "The blue bird". It was filmed in USSR and USA cooperation, starring Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Fonda, Margaret Terekhova, George Vitzin and others?

I grew up during the Cold War. I lived in Mongolia for a couple years in the early 90's. I was able to intermingle and spend time with Russians living in Mongolia. It changed my perspective. I joined the Army and retired in 2012. I have held, since my eyes were opened in Mongolia, the idea that since the fall of the Soviet Union, the US and Russia should be fast friends! We are so much more alike than we are different. Even further, I fought in Iraq for the US. I am embarrassed by our country, and have observed that The Russian Federation has been on the "Right side of history" a lot more than the US lately. Although the Soviet Union wasn't a very good ideological experiment, that cost millions of lives - especially Russian, the current Russia is a lovely and great country!
Soviet Union was a great country, that served as an example for many others and still is. Not without faults but it had bright future. I'm kinda tired of ppl of the west pointing fingers at communism when they know little about it. I don't see how USA structure is any better, it's just one big business agglomeration, or UK where they have useless monarchs who do nothing except showing their faces, but eat tons of money.
You are very naive. Russia and US as countries could never 'be friends'. It isn't a matter of ideology, US won't 'love' my country in any form - Russian Empire, Soviet Union or Russian Federation. Cause we have power and resources. And that's what they want - US and all the Collective West. Power and resources. World politics works that way, simple and brut. And please, stop this nonsense about USSR 'costing millions of lifes'. You're just repeating western propaganda that demonised 'evil communists and their regime'. You know what broke millions of lifes? The fall of Soviet Union. That was organised with the help of CIA.
My friend, you will not be disappointed me and you we are both Mexican-Americans and we share many cultural similarities with the Russian people. It is why I love living there.
Here some fun facts of Mexico and Russia: 1. Back then when the bolcheviks took over the russian empire and turn it into the U.S.S.R, several Russians imigrated to Mexico. 2. Mexico gave political asylum to former bolchevik leader Trosky. 3. Back when the USSR was suffering a famine. The US goverment told many others to not help the USSR, yet the mexican goverment politely told them to mind their own buissness and sended help to the soviets. 4. Mexico managed to get the both the US and the USSR as allies when Mexico and Guatemala almost went to war (No need to say why guatemala bailed out)
@user-by2vt3cm4k Excuse me as an American I have visited Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. I have been to these countries. So your point is moot my friend. Have a good day 😊🫡. You should travel and culture yourself my friend and you will expand your mind!

My guess would be that Haiti has nothing of “use” for them, and also is not a threat….our governments are fake, phony virtue signallers…they’ll twist anything to make themselves seem “good”….
These billions were transferred in the form of weapons. The United States took money from the budget and paid private arms companies to supply these weapons. Thus, giving these campaigns excess profits and kickbacks to officials.

Dan, not all Americans dislike Russia, there are also those who love Russia and want to move to Russia. I know this firsthand-I've been friends with a Marine veteran from Maine for several years now. I am friends not only with him, but also with all members of his family - they love Russia.
There was no such organizatiron as "Eastern Block", it's a term used widely by the Western propaganda. There is NATO (since 1949) and was the Warszaw Pact (1955), which was created as a response to NATO. I am a Soviet, was raised in the USSR, and I am very grateful to my country for many-many things, so I never use words Soviet, Socialism or Communism with any negative connotations. And when people say "we are not against russians, we are against communism", it sounds ridiculous, because those people cannot even imagine, how deep their ignorance is, they simply have no idea what they are talking about.
Thank you for your comment, unfortunately it’s almost impossible to explain brainwashed people in the west how ridiculous they sound when they say communism was the problem, to much lies …
At least 300 MILLION EUROPEAN FEEL IN THE SAME WAY AS YOU DO. I KNOW MANY well off people and they are STILL LOVE AND BELIEVE THE SOVIET UNION and the Russians.
I was taught to ignore all the lies about other countries. There is good and bad people but some places may have more of one or the other for many reasons. Also to understand that others can be brainwashed and to always watch your back. When you feel the safest is when you let down your guard....this is when you are vulnerable.
as a russian myself I always enjoy seeing people who connect russia with USSR but not Russian Empire, people just want to label us in some usefull for their narrative way
I prefer to connect Russia with Russia before 1917 - the USSR after the WW2 was worst than Russian Empire because of the Marxist lies empowered the few over masses. Some may say is the same in Empires, but the difference is in the details: one thing are people with education and tradition empowered and another thing is to empower people with very little education and a lot of frustration due to this. Crimea changed hands due to political ambitions of a politruc - this would have never happen in Russian Empire.
My last assignment in the Army was Alaska. There I got to meet the descendants of the the Tsarists (White Army), who refuged through Siberia to Alaska. It was common to actually see an icon of Tsar Nicholas II in their house. When I was there, I learned a lot about the greater Russian History before the Soviet Times. I saw their beautiful culture and morals. I don't think the times of the Tsars was all that bad.
If you really look into it, the fear of Russia predated the Soviet Union. Western Europe always looked down on Russians and saw them as semi-savage Easterners that had to be prevented from invading the West. The advent of the Soviet Union only intensified what was already there.
The oldest and truest conflict in Europe is Romans versus Barbarians. Manifests in many maps, with the division between the eastern empire and Western Empire, the lines between the Slavic languages and the Romance languages, the line between the orthodox and the Catholic, the line between the communist and capitalist, and the line between Cyrillic and Latin scripts. The conflict dates back to the Roman republic, where the peoples of the north and east were considered barbarian and acceptable to plunder and slave. Our word Slav even comes from slave, because so many were used as slaves. The people of Germany became federated Romwn allies, and eventually were considered part of civilization, and the same was eventually done to the Polish people, mostly because they took the Catholic faith and even more importantly, huge amounts of civilly German territory made up what we now call Poland. Which is why Ukraine is so important; it’s called the edge, land originally not from the perspective of the Russians, but from the perspective of the Germans, who saw the even further Slavs past the Poles as some kind of exotic end of the world barbarians. And so the border between real proper Roman Europe, and barbarian slaveable Slav Europe hasn’t really changed in 1600 years.
Wrong The westen European from the to to the bottom loved Russia and made a big deals with them after the WW II . They loved they could TRUST the russians just like the people mostly in easten Europe STILL DO and CRIE for SOVIET. Oh my goodness... Thank you so much for this video. Yes... since I've been researching russian culture (and Putin) back in 2020 (I think), it isn't the same as Soviet Russia, however, so many movies out there deplict Russians as the Bad Guy. Since Feb 2022, I've been researching about Ukraine and noticed that Ukrainians primarily speak Russian. What's to say these movies aren't about the Ukrainians. I was having a conversation with a relative the other day and he stated that Putin was a dictator. I kept saying WHAT ?? I couldn't believe what I was hearing... SO YES... there's a lot of ignorance in the US about Russia. Thank you again.
I remember as an elementary school aged child in the 1970's learning about how the German government propagandized their citizens and school children. "How terrible" I thought. Then I wondered if the same thing was happening here in the U.S? That question remained in my mind for many years, but I had no way to solve that question until decades later when the Internet exploded in growth. In the early '80's, I joined the Army based in part by the propaganda I was told about the founding fathers and early American history. I was stationed in West Germany for 18 months and 14 months in South Korea during the cold war. I left the military just barely before Gulf War 1. The Berlin Wall was already down. A few years later the government passed an unconstitutional law, and I was utterly shocked that there was no public uprising! This meant that we did not have a CONstitutional government any more. Thus another red flag popped up in my mind. In 1998 I finally got a computer and Internet, and I spent many, many days researching what the hell happened to our CONstitutional government? Long story short: It never existed in reality!!! Even the first 3 presidents and the congresses all violated it and the Bill of Rights without facing any real consequences. Since leaving the Army, I have had a curiosity about Russia and the Russian people. I well remember the West's promising Russia to not expand NATO one square inch toward Russia, and I was angry at my own government every time they broke their promise! I also was aware of the overthrow of the elected president in Ukraine in 2014. I knew that the MSM and my government were lying to us the second they claimed Russia's invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked! I knew better, and I told many other people about the lies! I wish that the U.S. government would stop trying to become THE world government! I wish for peace for all sides! There are millions of us common citizens here in the U.S. that wish for peace and friendship with the Russians! Sadly, our evil government is completely out of control! Perhaps some day I will have a chance to visit Russia.
"Victoria Nuland speaks about her experience of living with 80 Russian fishermen on one boat for six months in her 20s" (C) That's all you have to know about US foreign policy under Nuland and Blinken
I feel betrayed, cheated, and angry. I would have loved to visit Russia. Now I'm too old. I see the beautiful sites and recognition of those who have sacrificed for freedom given such honor.
I agree with you on a lot of this. I’m American, and I have a very close Russian friend. But here’s a few things: everytime the US is at odds with another country, Russia is quick to support that other country. After the recent attack in Moscow, Putin was fast to blame the US for being involved. Even though a radical Islamist group claimed responsibility and even said why they did it. The comment sections were full of nasty comments about the US. Lots of hate there. So it IS a two way street. I honestly believe this Cold War era shit needs to be buried and we should be friendly countries. But it’s not going to happen, I think.
Clearly Russians have made great contributions to Western science and culture. Where would American culture have been without The Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff and countless musicians who have contributed mightily to both popular and serious American culture? Besides which, the most popular composer of all time in the US is Tchaikovsky...
Yes, I grew up as a teen in Canada in the 80's. And that is all we knew "Russia bad" was grilled into our heads. I think I put this in the comment section of one of your previous videos. It took this conflict with Ukraine that opened my eyes. Thanks in part to Canadian journalist Eva Bartlett and geopoliticist Alex Christoforou, who covered the nuances of the past and the West involvement. You may want to even look at the jealousy too. Russia (USSR) was the first to put astronauts in space. And that was the push towards USA wanting to be first for the moonlanding....(Although many saw flaws in this because one of the astronauts said to Johnny Carson on tv that it was filmed in a studio....conspiracy theories abound regarding this). There is an obvious jealousy and the CIA has done enough damage to foster bad relations....complicit in alot of regime change invasions.
I was unaware that it was also happening in Canada but with this comment I guess people now can understand that it happened in many other places. Thank you so much for your comment. Please consider sharing the video helps the channel grow.
Daniel, thank you for your participation in such a great topic. It was very important to notice all the things that you said. The ending was flawless! I am 22 years old. My father is 76 years old and he is a true soviet man who served his military service in German Democratic Republic (the Soviet one), he was born in 1948 so he withessed and lived through the whole Cold War. And he NEVER taught me to hate United States or American People. I've been to US when I was 17 and many people were interested and asked a lot of questions when they found out that I was from Russia. There was no hate at all. Still, some guys thought we are spies, some guys thought we are still USSR and asked about "Iron Curtain" and how we're gonna deal with it. It was hilarous though. You, americans, are amazing, friendly and open-minded nation. You guys really enjoy your lives and love your motherland. For your information, it's really hard to visit US for Russian average person since it is expensive and requiers you to be a perfect candidate for a Visa. I'm so grateful that I had that chance to enjoy myexperience in United States. Me and my generation - we were never raised to hate US. Our parents, who were soviet people, never even tried to turn us against Americans. We were raised with dreams to visit such an amazing country. I believe that in future our people will be able to build strong and friendly relation between Russia and US. Thank you again, Daniel, for uniting hearts of two great nations
Incredible back story incredible setting thanks a lot for being so positive and I must say now the people are more awake and make more of self thought decisions in America thanks for watching really please consider sharing
I was born in 1952. At that time, Russia was the primary boogeyman. We were taught to fear them because their aim was world domination via relentless incursions into the "free world." Out of that fear came the cold war, and the formation of NATO. Today, NATO has followed the exact same game plan that I was taught to fear against Russia. That is why Mr. Putin, an unapologetic nationalist who loves Russia and feels a duty to defend HIS country, took action when NATO attempted to surround Russia. This is nothing to be feared, it is to be admired.
To me as an American, who was born after the whole Cold War and Soviet Union things ended, it’s the weirdest discovering just how many supposedly free world states were either naked dictatorships, or even outright openly Fascist. From an essay I wrote upon a finer analysis conducted in college, freedom is for the elect wealthy of Western Europe. Everyone else is free to be their slave.
You missed the part after the war 1945 the Americans and British were training and funding terrorists to go into the USSR to try to overthrow the government. They were involved in sabotage and assassination of our allies the USSR. Also during the war with Germany the Americans and British were aware of strategic moves taken by the Nazis and refused to provide that information to the USSR in order to cause damages to the Russian military. They didn't treat Russia as a Ally they treated it as a enemy that threatened our own existence. While Canadians were dying in Europe the Americans continued to supply the Germans with the weapons to kill Canadians French and British until 1941.
To make it clear for those who confuse Russian and Soviet: Russian can be both an ethnicity and citizenship while Soviet was never an ethnicity but citizenship only.
@@katlamkatlam1994 Yes, there is deep cultural background to both Russian and Soviet definitions. But one couldn't be ethnically Soviet by birth. However they tried to create a Soviet nation in terms of ethnicity too, meaning all nations except Soviet were meant to become a thing of the past, but it failed. As most ethnic groups tend to cling to their ethnicity. Interesting that Russians proved to be the most internationalist in this case and interethnic and interracial marriages were not frowned upon.

As for Mexico, Slavic countries (especially Russia, and my birth land of Yugoslavia) have had the most warm relations and attitude towards our Mexican brothers.. I grew up a little Slavic kid in 1980's Yugoslavia (Montenegro) which is a present day nato ally) listening to Mexican mariachi music/bands. My father was CRAZY about Mexican music and taught me a lot about the beautiful and storied history of your beautiful homeland, and thus, I've had a great affection for the Mexican people ever since childhood. I wish you the best my dear brother Danny. May the Lord bless you and your lovely fiancé exceedingly!
i love your vids !!! one correction though the Cuba crisis was the result of US hostile actions of positioning nuclear-armed Jupiter missiles in Turkey (1959) targeting USSR... Soviets or Russian or whatever you wanna call them NEVER do the first step...their actions are always a response to a provocation... keep up the good work and always be in good spirit
Thank you so much for the support my friend by the way, you’re not making a correction you’re just adding information which I truly appreciate. This is why I love the comment section. Please do share the video it helps the grow
B Flag because I watch many you tube shows from Russia. Your video hits home. My husband watches Ukraine video's of the Russia Ukraine War and I watch positive you tubers from Russia.
It was alway politics and propaganda that stood between the people, the people of both countries have so much in common. After the fall of the Soviet Union I alway thought America and Russia would come to a fruitful understanding and live in peace together while sharing trade, technology, global thought and friendship! Such a huge missed opportunity by our so called leaders!
As a child I grew up hating Russians just because of watching American movies. Those movies always promoted hatred against Russians. But I love Russia even more after looking into world history. Slava Russia.
Good video. If more everyday Russian and American people could get to know each other without government involvement, all would see that we have much in common. There's very little hate toward the Russian people with the US general population. I think many Americans are told by various media sources that the Ukraine War is a return to the expansive ways of the USSR. I hope the current conflict ends soon. Too much destruction and too many lives lost on both sides. All the mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters grieving over lost family members in both Russia and Ukraine. No one wins in a proxy war. I appreciate your balanced opinions and your thoughts. The great descriptive videos of where you are living in Russia help show Americans how typical Russians live. Keep it up!
Yes my friend it’s the style of videos I’m making now since I’m not home in Russia. Ksenia is enjoying Mexico right now thanks for watching please consider sharing 🙏🏻
The same losers who voted in these said establishment to hate on not only russians, asians, the middle easterns and africans too. The anglo saxons hate anyone with a darker skin tone than them.
Halleluuja!
This song makes me cry every time. It's the song of my generation and another generation in Russia. please share the main video here is the song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jLeIx8rrlSc.html
today the reason is very simple, and it is not regular people, its the politicians who have to find someone else to blame for their terrible leadership
That’s correct today it’s the politicians more than anyone but the video just explained how for decades the public was brain washed. Thanks a lot for watching please consider sharing
The "Eastern Bloc" is just a term for countries that adhere to the communist trend in politics. In fact, there was no such organization. In contrast to the creation of NATO (1949), it was only in 1955 that a military alliance called the ОВД, the Warsaw Pact Organization, was created. It's like the Caribbean crisis, everyone is talking about Soviet missiles in Cuba, but for some reason they forget to say that this was a response to the deployment of US missiles in Turkey. "Восточный блок" это всего лишь термин для обозначения стран придерживающихся коммунистического направления в политике. По факту, такой организации не существовало. В противовес созданию НАТО (1949 год), только в 1955 году был создан военный союз под названием ОВД, Организация Варшавского Договора. Это как с карибским кризисом, все говорят о ракетах СССР на Кубе, но почему то забывают сказать, что это был ответ на размещение ракет США в Турции.
I respect and admire Russians, they contributed to save Europe from the Nazi regime, they have beautiful traditions and culture. There is no reason to fuel hate and promote war against this nation.
Oof! So much to unpack. I was born in 1962. My dad (1931-2014) was drafted for the Korean war. His grandmother told him, _"This isn't WW2 and we don't have any business there."_ She wanted him to flee to Spain (no extradition treaty with USA). The general consensus among American people at that time was _"Where is Korea?"_ His mother said if he did that he'd ruin his life, so he went and ended up finally retiring after the 1st Gulf War, serving beyond normal retirement age due to it. So yes, CCCP bad. Fear the godless commies, etc. But in the 1990s Russian immigrants poured into the USA. So much so I learned to speak Russian then! I worked with countless 'Ruskies' in both the '90s & 2000s. The first "Russia is bad" in the MSM was in 2008 in the Georgian war, but that was just a minor speed bump. Really, the current "Russia bad" fever began in 2012 with Crimea. Anyway, it's a damn shame.
@@Wild-Siberia I live in Manitoba, Canada and it's similar in the North. The winters are brutal and polar bears are nuisance animals, people don't lock their doors because of them.
Grab anythin' that's not nailed to the floorboards.
I hope all kinds of reasons will be included... For me, everyone is an inner experiencer, and nationality, pigment, identity etc don't matter like caring for each person's inner being. I think propaganda has a relatively easy job getting many Americans to dislike Russians, because Russians have historically come across as callous: "So we need to treat people badly to get a problem solved - Compassion is too effeminate to be allowed to get in the way." Cultures evolve out of thousands of years of harsh conditions and accepting brutal mistreatment.
Wellcome to Russia!
