Another irony is that becoming a father myself opened my understanding of fatherhood & unconditional love in a way Christianity often said God laid claim to in how He related to us & Jesus. When reading my entire Bible... I began to recognize the Love of God was VERY conditional & didn't resemble how I loved my own children. Paul's passage about what love is & is not... 1 Corinthians 13...did not fit the person of God as articulated throughout the Bible.

"If you deconstruct, you arent a christian" - thank you for not making that argument and trying to understand the other side. Lots of people doubt silently because their concerns are met with such disgust. This silent deconstruction then leads to leaving the faith and isolation. I remember telling a worship leader well i believe in jesus, but probably not the way you guys do. Then they said "well you shoulndt be on the worship team then."

51:08 there is a lot of nuance to the gender conversation. theres a balance between relentless affirmation of gender and recognizeing that someone may have a mental issue going on. The issue usually gets simplified to "tHEYRE TEACHING KIDS TO BE TRANS AT SCHOOL!" and then the conversation ends.

"Jesus changes everything"... Is false. Our desires to rise up and become more and more like him as the selfless, wise , perfect, loving person is what drives Christians. Similar to what Buddhists do to emulate Buddha etc. There is an ideal humanity should strive toward & Christianity offers this and unlike other religions, doesn't require us to attain it because we can vicariously through him.

Definitely don't agree with only deconstructing some aspects of Christianity and not others. Why is the bible seen as authority is the question that needed to be asked. If the claims of Christianity holds true, asking any question about it will always lead back to it being true therefore being a true authority
