It's 2021, approaching 2022 in a month and a half. Still as scarce as ever. Was lucky to be able to buy 2 boxes in my life however I'm down to 6 sticks left. Love your cigars and I pray good fortune heads your way. I'm buying 3 boxes next time they're available lol.
I want to see Drew Estate to make a video explaining why a brick and mortar cigar shop who has been a faithful customer of Drew Estate for over 9 years can't get any Liga Privada to sell, but a new store who had never been a Drew Estate customer gets them.
Donna Graham I heard from one of my shops, that drew estate zones their product with certain shops...not sure how true this is, but I do know that other manufacturers do the same thing in the tobacco product world.
I know this vid and comment is 7 years old, but nothing has really changed with Drew Estate. Much like Davidoff Drew Estate wants stores to be a “Diplomat” store in order to carry a lot of their brands. I’m not certain about all the brands, but I do know Liga Privada and Undercrown lines are diplomat store only. This means that store must buy a specific amount of DE cigars and they are rewarded with a heavy wall plaque and access to Liga Privada, Undercrown. I am wanting to say that even the Herrera Esteli and Nica Rustica sticks are the same as I’ve yet to see a B&M specifically carry either of those without Liga Privada and Undercrown
Donna, were you at IPCPR this year? We outlined a very clear criteria for getting Liga Privada for your store. If you missed it, please call our offices and ask for one of our sales staff. They will help you out.
Maybe it's just because I go to cigar shops that keep a good supply of liga privadas on hand. Although one thing I will say, I haven't seen the Herrera's out around yet.
Great info. As a Canadian i am forced to always purchase great cigars such as any and all ligas from the us as they are no wheres to be found in Canada that i am aware of? But i am curious as to whether this is the exact same reason for the even MORE Scarcity with the Liga Privada UNICOS series cigars as it is with the No.9's, and the T52's? Thanks
Thanks Nick. I'm curious, your title is chief blender, but how much involvement do you have in the blending? The cigars you produce are among the best of our time (can't speak of past or future). Enjoying a t52 right now. Again, thank you for this cigar, sir. If you ever start your own line, you'll have my business (however small that may be).
Thanks for the info. As an aside, I'd cut down on all those mid-sentence jump cuts. It gets distracting after a while. Some can look cool, especially will upbeat music, but this was chopped a little too much for my taste.
Forgive me, I'm not as knowledgeable about the actual production of the tabacco you use, but I do enjoy Ligas as well as Undercrowns. Could you not grow the same tabacco you use for your Ligas in other places, such as North Carolina? Again, not a genius but I know they grow a ton of tabacco there.
Connecticut broadleaf can only truly be found in the Connecticut valley because of the unique soil found near the river bed. You can plant Connecticut broadleaf seeds elsewhere but the soil is what makes the difference.
Where you are growing the tobacco makes a huge difference, hence why Cuban seed grown in Nicaragua or DR tastes nothing like Cuban seed grown in Cuba and vice versa.
