Buildings are a reflection of the mindset of a civilization, of a society. How they are built, the quality of the materials, the shapes. In the old days, buildings were not just a means to an end, to serve a very specific purpose as they are today; they were a form of art. As we can see in our modern world, the newer buildings that are erected today are shallow, ugly, lacking in identity, symmetry, beauty, and inspiration. All the buildings made today are built within weeks and are constructed from cheap, low-quality materials.
In the past, buildings were made to last, and the undeniable proof lies before us in the form of ancient structures still standing today after thousands of years. Buildings like the Colosseum, the Egyptian Pyramids, the Parthenon, and countless others are testament to a time when architecture was revered and celebrated. This is a statement that we clearly live in the ruins of a more civilized age.
