The most challenging thing was finding a suitable job most people leave as there are no jobs that pay high enough. Unless the Govenrment supports small business Ans gives them support or grants foreign Jews have a challenge living there unless they work in high tech. I would of stayed there if there were livable wages.

It is undeniable that real estate and cost of living may require an adjustment in lifestyle. Real estate is the number one cost of living. Lets start there...stay tuned.

You are correct. We are covering that as well....this was more about the reasons why people are going for it though. Perhaps you'll find the episode on language barrier for children to be interesting. Thanks for your comment! www.tribejournal.org/post/school-english-israel

If a country exists and offers Diaspora Jews a permanent home or for those who don't make the move a safe haven in times of need, isn't it just plain good sense to support and strengthen it 'warts and all' in every way possible? Wouldn't it be sad if a person in his/her Golden years in the Diaspora realized that a move could/should have been made years ago when he/she could have been an active part of building a Country and leaving a stamp on it for generations to come. To come to Israel just to be buried seems such a waste of a unique opportunity.

@@TribeJournal Thanks. Based on some of the statistics I read recently, a huge number of Olim participated in the past in various heavily subsidized/free programs organized for young people to get a taste of Israel....the seed was sown. However to encourage too young people to come here with little behind them in the way of Education, Funds and the language puts them in a less than ideal position to deal with life in such a different Country from where they came from....especially if they don't have family/friends to support them. Even of those having done Military Service and learned the language many return home, get caught up in daily life and never return. The subject of how to succeed is multi-faceted and there is no one way that fits all. Perhaps think about doing an in-depth program on what the trigger was that enticed successful Olim settled all over Israel to decide to build a home here and how they made it work?.

@@TribeJournal What statistics don't seem to look into [or are covered up] are the number of Olim who decide to return to from where they came AND sadly take Israeli partners and kids with them....so much waste from whatever angle you look at it. This is especially true of statistics from Australia which proudly claim the highest rate of Aliya but fail to mention the numbers returning and later attracting other family members on the partners side to do the same.

Woah I can't believe how much I look like some of these people. I have been asked if I am Jewish and I think ethnically I really must be going way back to Lithuania. I don't even need a DNA test to feel the pride of this people. It would not be an Aliyah for me to visit this land, I am not Jewish, but it would be an incredible experience.

It’s not about wanting to go or not it is if there is money and income to be made there is a huge poverty rate in israel and most people struggle. I would love to move back but financially it’s hard unless I work online or have small business which the israel government doesn’t really help

I don’t like the 6 day workweek and the governments inability to make small businesses that are sustainable. People leave israel as there are no jobs unless there working in hi tech. The government needs to support people making small business and atop supporting monopolies like the us. The israeli Govenrment needs to stop copying the usa policies in business to keep rich rich and the rest poor.
@TribeJournal

What some constructive examples of how you think Israeli government could better supports small businesses?
@datingandlifeadvicechannel7534
@datingandlifeadvicechannel7534 2 года назад
@@TribeJournal support good business ideas for people who want to make small shops and the bank should loan them money. The israel government seems to only fund huge tech companies which is not right or sustainable. Need new government advisors and officials who know what they are doing maybe it should be me. Small business is the blood of the economy and when I suggest to make one years ago the agency was useless to support me to do that. I would only go back if I could sustain a small business no way I would work 6!days a week making others rich unless the salary was very high.
@TribeJournal
@TribeJournal 2 года назад
@@datingandlifeadvicechannel7534 interesting...i think affordable housing it top on the list... then you don't have to work 6 days. As we approach more and more virtual office etc it will be interesting to see how that impacts both opportunity ans income in Israel. More and more people are able to keep jobs over seas while living in Israel.

@@TribeJournal I lived there in 2015 when things were very backward and monopolies owned everything I wonder if things changed many Olim leave due to lack of opportunity and high cost of living if I had a good job I would of stayed there till now. If I had a good opportunity where I can afford a normal life I would move back. They need to change the system and have more Americans and Europeans in power who know how to run a country.
@datingandlifeadvicechannel7534

@@TribeJournal support them with business loans until they are sustainable and are profitable on their own. I wanted to start a business in 2015 and the advisor laughed at me and was rude. It was pathetic ! I can easily run a business there if I had a loan to sustain me for the first three years. most overseas people don’t want to work for israeli companies and would not work 6 days a week for little wages.

The political system of entrenched rule in the occupied Palestinian territory which endows one racial-national-ethnic group with substantial rights, benefits and privileges while intentionally subjecting another group to live behind walls, checkpoints and under a permanent military rule. This satisfies the prevailing evidentiary standard for the existence of apartheid.

yeah well they (Palestines) don't believe in live and let live - and bytheway jews in Arab lands lost 17 times more property than the Palestines whose name comes from the philistines - "invaders" in Hebrew from the Hebrew word pleesha "invasion.
@TribeJournal

There are over 1 million Arab citizens of Israel. It is the Palestinian Authority controlled areas that call for the destruction of Israel that you're referring to and I can't imagine you are advocating that Israel just open its borders to such hateful and genocidal regimes? Yes, they say its in the name of freedom fighters but we are not fools. Again, go ask Arab Israeli's if they'd like to give up their rights living in Israel to move to an Arab country or a Palestinian Authority controlled country and you'll have your answer to your false accusations. I'm sure there are other places in the world that you can find governments actually subjecting groups to live behind walls and military rule simply because of their race or religion but Israel is not one of them as you can see by the 1 million+ Arab's living in Israel as citizens and members of Knesset.

@xili2140

@@kurita82 The dispossession and displacement of Palestinians from their homes is a crucial pillar of Israel’s apartheid system. Since its establishment the Israeli state has enforced massive and cruel land seizures against Palestinians, and continues to implement myriad laws and policies to force Palestinians into small enclaves. Since 1948, Israel has demolished hundreds of thousands of Palestinian homes and other properties across all areas under its jurisdiction and effective control.
