BIONICLE Explained returns with an analysis of why some Makuta - despite all being innately the same - appear to be far stronger than others. The three main factors I discuss are:
• Strength of will
• Absorption of other beings and dominating their wills
• Mask power & other variables, e.g. not all Makuta had the capacity to increase their will due to difficulty/lack of desire.

Krika is probably the most interesting makuta to me -- gotta love a reluctant villain. Great video and an intriguing analysis! PS please leave the text bubbles up a little longer 😅

Cheers for the kind words! Krika had so much potential had the G1 storyline continued and he hadn't died. Even though he's not my personal favourite, I think having him survive Karda Nui would have made for the most interesting storytelling. And duly noted, will do 👍

@@DaBIONICLEFan Imagine Krika fighting along side the others against Teridax Reign had he survived. At last able to fight amongst heroes he wished he could be himself. Such a tragic end he had. Realizing the truth and dying for it.

@@Turak500 Not just that, but the interesting conflict that could have arisen between he and Miserix. Miserix killed Spiriah, who's to say he wouldn't have gone after Krika too? It was they who imprisoned him. The fact they spared him was meaningless to Miserix. Their betrayal was unforgiveable to him it seems.

@@DaBIONICLEFan Perhaps if Krika more visibly and honestly showed remorse for his betrayal towards Miserix, he might have gone easy on Krika. But you're right, Miserix seemingly despises all Makuta who betrayed him equally. I'd also be interested to see what the Order of Mata Nui would think of his change of heart. Would they accept him as an ally or show their distrust. What would Teridax say to him upon his victory and wise-versa. So many interesting questions

Dude! This really really helps me fill in some of the gaps and cracks as far as understanding the species goes. Thanks :D (my favorite official Muda is probably Krika) Would you be able to make a video on the Skakdi? Specifically how their powers work? It’s known that they have to use them in conjunction with another Skakdi. However, were most of the Skakdi even aware of this? And either way, could using their powers when working in tandem look different than just releasing an elemental blast?

Glad it was useful 🙂 Krika is an interesting case. Had he survived and G1 continued, I think there would've been some really interesting story potential in his dynamic to Miserix, as it was he and Spiriah who colluded to imprison him in the first place. I have an idea for a Piraka video as I think their fate is kind of poetic - they desired greater power, and they eventually got it (though perhaps not in the way they imagined it).

This helps me understand the Makuta's power scaling a lot more. I think you should have mentioned the events of the Kingdom Alternate Universe, as it is an example of what happens when a Makuta loses their will to fight.

Very interesting In depth analysis! My favorite Makuta will always be Teridax but Miserix was a close second.

I'll certainly get to them eventually. I have a character history of Karzahni on my list as well as a Nerd of the Rings-style 'complete travels of' for Lesovikk as I think that would suit him well. Won't be for a bit yet though as I'm already mid-script on my next video.
