Whether in income level, life expectancy, low crime or low inequality indicators, the Nordic countries such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark or Finland are at the top.
It is common to hear from some leftist politicians that these countries are an example of how socialism works and that its progress is thanks to a great Welfare State. So following this logic, if a country wants to achieve the same results, it is by means of generous subsidies, high taxes and fiscal spending that this level of prosperity is reached.
