As a person who was born in Germany and raised there i can say, i have experienced only one time a case which can be described as discriminatory when i was Germany. I've much more good memories rather than bad ones. Turks living in Germany got indeed germanized to a degree but they also turkified Germans and literally created Turkish towns inside Germany. This is the reason why some right wing Europeans don't like Turkish migrants as they don't become Europeans in few decades like other migrants, even after 60 years they are still Turkish, their children are Turkish. Only their grandchildren recently began becoming Germans especially if one of their parents is German. So they aren't ''ideal migrants'', Europeans might brag about their liberalism all day long but if you look at their actions they don't like liberalism at all and always favouring their own against foreign cultures...

Parallel societies are German cultures! Germany bears the responsibility. If you are treated as a guest, even though you go to work, etc., would you want to see yourself as a German? You Germans just don't have an identity anymore either. The Germans have treated civilized people badly and now come masses of migrants who do not behave. That is not fair.

@@jimnewt2138 I think i stated what was wrong quite clear but still i will explain it further. There is nothing wrong with favouring your own, pretty much every nation does that to a degree. Even if racism isn't common they might still do that as it is easier to trust somebody sharing your culture, it is simple human nature. For example foreigners face discrimination pretty much in every level in Japan especially if they didn't learn Japanese including Kanji which is quite hard for foreigners. And Japanese people openly state immigrants must adopt their culture, it is their country and they have a right to demand that regardless it is wrong or right. But do westerners openly state immigrants must adopt their cultures, huh?? Ofc not otherwise how exactly you will claim you are so liberal, humanist etc! So in every single official or unofficial material from media to government you act like immigrants and their cultures will be respected but then act against them if they didn't adopt your cultures which is nothing but a wicked hypocrisy!! For example lets look at Germany, shall we? Listen to every single German chancellor that they brag about their liberalism, humanism, democracy, how EU was established to defend human values bla bla then forbid dual citizenship in Germany! Where did those ''European human rights'' disappear exactly?? These two faced policies make it wrong without any question, if western countries were honest about it there would be far less immigrants heading that way, there would be far less racism in the west but European economies would shrink a lot which is the whole reason keeping false advertisement..

Great video. As a grandson of those turkish guest workers who came in the late 60s to germany I was born and raised here in Germany. Raising up between two cultures is really very difficult and sometimes you have an identical crisis. But you can also use this as your advantages when you can speak both languages fluently and is an enrichment for your cultural understanding. But unfortunately we are anyway experience a lot of discrimination and racism here. And in Turkey like you said in the video they call us „Almanci“ and when we are in Turkey we also still some kind experience discrimination in another way. So we are sticked between two cultures and try to make the best out of it. But for me it is something special and I‘m proud of to be one of these „Almanci“ in the third generation. @@markobakovic627 lol, Croatians are much smaller in number. While Turks are millions in Germany. And Turks will never assimilate or don't have a concept called assimilation. For the Turks, either Muslim or non-Muslim Turks, only Turkification, no assimilation. In Europe, you have integration or assimilation to the host culture. For the Turks, the Turks have Turkification. This clashes each other. It is not about haraam and halaal in Islam, it is about domination. The Turks also drink raki which is haraam in Islam because it is alcoholic, the Turks also smoke which is haraam in Islam, the Turks also sometimes don't wear hijaab which is haraam in Islam. Once again, it is not about halaal and haraam in Islam. It is about domination. Do you forget that the Turks in Turkey were not even the original Turks, their ancestors were Turkified and now they are the people who will Turkify Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. If you want to see the original Turks, you can go to Altai region in Russo-Mongolian border where you can see the yellow-skinned and slanted-eyes people. The Turks today from Anatolia were just Anatolians with some mixture of those original Turks and those originals were minority, because their numbers were small but they were able to Turkified the whole region. My Grandfather worked in Istanbul for a weapon factory. At some point people came and said they were looking for a caster for metallic materials in Germany and poached him (Company near Hamburg - Aluminium Oxid, AOS). He then brought his wife and my father to Germany as a small child and worked in Germany's heavy industry until he retired. He later died of cancer. Due to all the hazardous substances and the lack of protection, it has collected toxic gases. Many of his buddies who were also Turks or Slavic died in a similar way. My grandparents' generation was called because the Germans themselves didn't want to get their hands dirty doing such work. In addition, the Germans thought that we would leave of our own accord at some point. But my grandfather stayed and got an apartment first. Later he was able to finance a house and my father still lives there to this day. And his grandson (me) now works as a technical manager in the IT department at Germany's largest training companies for crafting. But the question is. Even though we were born here, do we still feel comfortable? I have often thought about emigrating. Back to turkey or to another state. Germany and Turkey no longer have anything in common. Something like a German-Turkish friendship, if it existed, only existed during the war. But not in my reality.

a little night story .....Legend has it that a Turkish man from the Black Sea region, working in a chocolate factory, one day he ate the hazelnuts he brought from his homeland, which he had in his pocket while he was working, at one point he must have screwed an M4 bolt onto the machinery . Then he dropped nuts from his pocket onto the chocolate that had already been poured into the cast plates. The man was embarrassed by it and said nothing, later the boss came into the canteen and shouted. Who made this brilliant chocolate? The man said, I have that, meister, sorry. I am German and I thought public law at university. There are some facts you need to know. The turks are perfectly legally in our country and every single one has a residence permit from our authorities or citizenship! 2. The Turks faced heavily discrimination in our country. Though there has never been a decree or any LEGALLY based actions against them, there were governments like that of Helmut Kohl who wanted to force them out by discrimination and illegal actions. There children were systematically prevented to visit the higher education schools though they were qualified and had/ have the legal right to do. During military rule in Turkey German governments would ask turkish authorities to send people spying on the Turkish people in Germany. The reason is to prevent them from using the freedom of speech or practice their religion freely as they would face reprisal actions when visiting their relatives during holidays. When Mr Erdoğan came to power the German governments started to condemn the same institutions THEY asked the Turkish military to install in Germany! 3. Until recently ehe German governments usef asked the Turkish governments to send Turkish teachers to teach the Turkish students in Turkish language at school and the German governments would pay for that to prevent them from integrating into society. Again all those actions despite that every Turkish person is perfectly legally in Germany with legal residence permit!!

But we always show them that they are not welcome so they go to the USA, Canada, UK and become successful people there creating workplaces and paying taxes! This is insane. We need workers in every sector now. The people in healthcare go to work in Switzerland or Luxemburg and our hospitals are suffering brain drain. Heres something you may find interesting. :) The name of my country has nothing to do with the interesting and delicious bird ''turkey'', well let me explain. :) Name of my country has always been Turkiye, that is Turk-iye, where the -iye suffix means ''land of/belonging to''... ...just like the Latin suffix -ia in such countries as Latv-ia, Roman-ia, Eston-ia, Austr-ia, Austral-ia etc etc. Another example; decades ago Czechoslovakia Republic changed it's name to Czech Republic and a few years ago changed that to Czechia (that is Czech-ia). Anyways, most likely the Latin -ia suffix was derived from the Turkish version -iye, as Turkish is much much older. Because in old times people of different languages could only pronounce it as their languages allowed them, we got various differences in spelling like Turchia (in Italian), Turquie (in French) and Turkey (in English) all trying to resemble the pronounciation of ''Turk-ia'' thus Turkiye. Mind you this was way BEFORE the animal we currently know as 'turkey'' was found by the europeans when they explored the north americas.... ...they came across the bird and thought it was a specie of the fowl/chicken they had been buying from the country of Turkiye at the time, so they named the bird ''Turkey Fowl'' meaning ''Turkish Chicken''..... ....just like how a dog breed is known as German Shepherd (because it's from Germany), Rhodesian Ridgeback (because it's from Rhodesia), American Bulldog, British Terrier, Greek Harehound etc etc. In time you don't get to call the Greek Harehound as simply as ''Greek''; or you don't call the British Terrier as ''British''; or the German Shepherd as ''German'', but in time the Turkish Fowl started to be called just ''turkey'', and has been going on for hundreds of years. Now in 2023, this is causing confusion, especially when we have people across the world unable to point to their OWN country on the atlas, this ''confusion over the naming'' needed to be corrected. So my country decided to rectify this confusion that has been going on for so long and corrected the name in other languages to Türkiye, which it always was, we basically didn't change the name of our country, we changed the mistake made in the English language. : ) So, there's some tid bit information for you to have a great day, if you read upto this point you have a great night too, ohh just have a wonderfull life. : ) Best wishes. ;)

....ohh and the same goes with the suffix '' -istan'' as many would know, like in Pak-istan (land of the Pure), Turkmen-istan (land of the Turkmen), Hind-ustan, again a play on the -istan. ...remember to uphold Islam in your life, so TheCreator upholds us on earth, as salam alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh ; )

@KenanTurkiye
@KenanTurkiye 11 месяцев назад
@@arthurlecomte8950 The reason why such an explanatory long worded approach was needed is actually hinted in the text. But considering you need clearer explanation, I'll gladly do that now too. In the cultural hegemony of the ''west'' we have an ''intellectual inclination'' of ''orientalism''. Certainly this by it's self may seem harmless however when we look at the attitudes and actions within it we will find a racist, deragotary outlook to anything and everything that is ''other'' than them. Hence why there have been multitudes of wars, crimes, sufferings among nations, majority of which been devised/engineered/cheered on by that NIHILISTIC NARCISSISTIC psychology. And the simpletons in such societs, while breathing the same air as the rest of us sane people, went into the extend to try to make fun of the name of a country. Now, any logical person would know that anyone who makes fun of someone because of this or that are actually insecure, intellectually shallow and perhaps even sociopathetic. Furthermore logic calls that any sane person rectift the misuse and mistreatment of such ill minds. Hence why all of that explanation was needed. The reason why this additional explanation was needed was because of you. I hope you get that. If you need any further explanation, please do not hesitate, I'll be more than happy to oblige. Ottoman's decline was mainly due to demographics. From 1700 on, their population started to decline, while the populations of Russia and European adversaries were rising rapidly. Ottoman stock was mainly nomadic, which was more resistant to pandemics, it was slow growing more slowly compared to agrarian settled societies. Introduction of potato into Europe was big game changer. They started looking into it mid 1800's, when their population was a small fraction of Russia, it was too late.

Turkey had a significant interest in sending part of its rapidly growing population abroad as temporary guest workers. Turkey's economic and political stability was in the interests of NATO countries and other Western countries.

While historically interesting the last part of the video is unfortunately not based on history but on what was told to the guest workers and Germans as propaganda. 1. The German economic miracle is not the result of the workforce-structure, it's the result of targeting population centers instead of factories in the WWII strategic bombing campaign, Germany never entered full war-production due to resource shortages, this created a head-start on civilian production after the war as factories did not have to be converted back. Bombed-out cities tend to be confused with bombed out production capability. 2. Turkish workers had little to do with this initial "miracle", they only entered the picture in 1961, 16 years after the war ended, the original guest-workers were Italians in 1955, this was however primarily to reduce the Italian inflation created by a trade deficit. Aim was to stabilize inner-European Trade by creating a flow of German currency to Italy, which imported German goods due to the mentioned "miracle". 3. Turkey, seeing the Italian guest-worker program (as well as spain and greece in 1960) was the country to ask Germany for a similar deal. Germany refused this Turkish request. It was not Germany requesting Turkish workers, it was Turkey requesting Germany to take workers. 4. Eventually the US pressured Germany to agree to the Turkish request, this was not due to economical but for strategic reasons (NATO). The guest-worker agreement originally intended for temporary work visas only for those from the geographically European part or Turkey, however as the workers were trained by companies preferring to keep them instead of having to re-train this was extended indefinitely (1964 onward), the limit on the parts of turkey the workers were to come from was never fully enforced.

Hahahaha the video starts RIGHT of the bat with a lie. The reason germany accepted the turks was because it was under control by the US. There was no need for Turkish workers as there were plenty of unemployed already. The first guest workers were recruited from European nations. However, Turkey pressured West Germany to admit its citizens as guest workers.[5] Theodor Blank, Secretary of State for Employment, opposed such agreements. He held the opinion that the cultural gap between Germany and Turkey would be too large and also held the opinion that Germany didn't need any more laborers because there were enough unemployed people living in the poorer regions of Germany who could fill these vacancies. The United States, however, put some political pressure on Germany, wanting to stabilize and create goodwill from a potential ally. West Germany and Turkey reached an agreement in 1961.[15]

Salamu alaikum Akhi, as a origin German Muslim i can say, thats not correct what you said about the German Economy Wonder. First, the German economic miracle had begun in the early 1950s, 10 years before the great immigration began. Secondly, about 650 thousand Turkish men came to Germany between 1960 and 1970 and the population of Germany at that time was already just under 80 million people. Migrant workers were a minority in every profession, so the impact on the economy as a whole cannot have been so great. This is a widespread myth that guest workers built Germany and were responsible for the economic miracle, but unfortunately it does not correspond to the facts.

Well, after watching your video, I have decided to correct some serious mistakes in your knowledge. I will not get into details. Although it would be good to show your sources when you are doing a video like this. First, it's not Turks or Turkey; it's Ottoman. The second thing to fix is the assassination plan. It seems to me that you totally came up with it by yourself. Grenades.. 2-3 assassins.. nope, it was not like that. Yes, you are correct at some point, but it has nothing to do with that trip. There was only one guy. There were no SEALs in that era. The third thing is the pictures you used. I have no idea who they are. Sorry. I have a very clear picture of the guy who used the revolver. The second picture you used looks similar, but it's not him. The first picture you used, I dont know. The fourth thing is that WWI has nothing to do with why there are many Turks in Germany (which is our main topic). Ottoman was with Germany in WW1 just because Ottoman wanted to get back the lands they lost and tried to regain its power. Also, the Ottomans wanted to catch up with military technology. Before the Germans, it was France. That's why many Ottoman officers could speak both German and French like their mother tongue. Now, the reason why there are many Turks in Germany is the WW2. As I said before, I will not get into details, but basically, after the war, there was no manpower left in Europe. As you may know, Turkey joined the war in the last six months of the war. So obviously, Turkey didn't lose that much manpower. In 50s and 60s Germany openly announced that they needed manpower to do things. Well.. even you can understand, the first country that comes to mind is, yes, Turkey. So many countries send people to Germany to start a new life.. Turkey accepted more than other countries. And many Turks stayed in Germany.. and then mixed marriages and blah blah.. so.. thats your short answer.

As someone with Turkish nagionality and working in München as a software engineer, this video ia truly accurate. Also, little note that German language is being thaught in high school as a compulsoru course. Most Turkish dudes like me simply decide to live and work in Germany since it has well established economy, and is the center of Europe.

As a Turkish from Turkiye, I understand you I would also live in germany instead of Turkiye if I had the chance, but voting in Turkish elections as someone that lives in germany doesnt make sense tbh.

You are right. I was born in germany but i have a turkish ID. Still i dont vote turkish elections. Just because i dont live there. I cant vote for a president for a country where i dont live in and do only vacation. @@DoofyGilmore1299

@@DoofyGilmore1299 it is also make sense because it impacts the Turkish international policy. Imagine if Kılıçdaroğlu won the last election, all of the Turkish diasporas are possible to be disowned.

@@DoofyGilmore1299you hate your countrymen in the dispora. Look at proportions. How many younger people have the Turkish passport and what's the election participation rate? Mostly AKP voters go to vote while western friendly CHP people get rid of your passport. Many Kurdish people also get rid of the passport and therefore you have a higher AKP voter turnout because they participate mostly in the election.

@@-_MR666_- most of the Turkish diaspora is either made up by Turkmens of middle east or migrants and they descandents that goes to europe (mainly germany) and this people is mostly AKP supporter since if Turkiye stays poor our currency will be worthless and they can use they euros for a cheap vacation in Turkiye. Young students in europe has still Turkish citizenship but they do not come to Turkiye every year for vacation

The legal basis for labor migration was laid with the Germany-Turkey Labor Force Agreement signed in Bonn, the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, on 30 October 1961. Starting from 1961, worker selection procedures started through the German Liaison Office in Tophane, Istanbul. In those years, no one had any thoughts of leaving Germany or other European countries. Turks are not refugees in Germany like miserable Arabs, Afghan, Pakistani, Syrian etc. So many Turks in Germany worked for very difficult and dirty jobs. Any lazy Arabs dont work in this works. Right now so many Turks are bosses in Germany and graduaded so many German Universities. And now Germany is a very glad calling Turks to Germany. And still their first choice is the Turks.

There are many lies in this video! Türkey asked frequently to send their poor people to Germany as guest workers in 1960s. Germany was already rebuilt at that time and had a strong Economy!! Mostly with the (Financial) help from the USA.
