bought one back in December and had some massive luck, pulled a surge foil one ring and three poster cards and some other goodies like a cavern of souls reskin. all in all value is at $350 for my box with everything counted in.
Really love your content, been following you for a month or so, I just came back to magic after a 8 year break. And never played commander before, could you do a video on power levels, that is something I cant grasp. Big up all the way from Scandinavia.
Lord of the rings packs are okay at most, but if you get the Lord of the rings jumpstart packs. Those have tended to have some good hitters for the money
My wife and I cracked a sealed case of six regular boxes. She pulled a regular One Ring and that alone was worth the experience. I really feel like it's a timeless set. Tons of value and great looking art overall.
Opened two boxes one day. I was opening them with a girl who knew nothing about MTG. First box I made 100$ profit. Second box I cracked 004/100 Dawn of a New Age and scared the shit out of her cheering. So I was feeling good and decided to follow the unwritten rule and have her crack one pack to see her luck. Im going through my pack and its nothing special and she goes, ooooohhhh this looks pretty and hands me a foil poster one ring. I got so excited and she had no idea what was happening. "So I did good right?!?!?" "Yes babe, you did good."
Damn that was a tough rip, this is not my experience with these. I have had varying success with 2 sub 200$ in value(but not this low) couple between $200-300 and 2 over value but 1 was because I hit a serialized card. This was a good watch nonetheless
I opened two boxes of this last week and pulled $660 from the first box. Back to back scroll one rings one foil and one non. That was the cost of the box basically. Also a lot of other hits. Second box not so well but got $300 worth of cards. I also got two foil posters in each but no serialized cards. This was just a bad box imo but gambling on the cards is too much fun
This might be misinformation or a rumor but my local store told me that the reason these are so expensive is because people are confusing them with the regular lord of the ring collector boosters(green packaging). The green packs have the good stuff. These barely have any rares in them. He told me they should be like $18 packs.
That was Rough Rough Rough bro... I'm sorry that was so brutal loss versus gain. I know those serialized cards are worth something but... to me that wasn't even close.... not even 50 percent of what you paid in value back...
the collectors boxes are just MTG version of loot boxes and gambling mechanics ill let others buy them crack them then. its just more cost effective to buy the 30cent cards I need and the few expensive ones rater then gamble on a 200-300-dollar collector box
I think I've opened something like 40 collector packs since I started playing again back in '21 and if it wasn't for a borderless meathook I'd be 0/40 on getting pack value lol. Such scams.
@negativehearts1643 I missed the realms and relics as well, they're also out of 100 so there's 50 cards all out of 100 so 5000 serialized cards in the set. I think someone on reddit worked out the math to 1 in every 40 boxes for a serialized card. There's also no way to keep track of how many have been pulled since since most people that pull them sell it locally or keep it to themselves. So we'll never really know if they've all been pulled.
I won a box is a raffle and it was probably the worst box I've ever opened. I've opened better bundles. That said, I only paid $20 cad so I really couldn't be mad.
@@kinglukemtg So I was flipping through the comments section and was surprised to see some real negative and toxic people. Don't pay them any attention, you're doing good bro 👍 Hopefully they'll filter out after a few more vids.
These boxes are so expensive because of ppl like you that have no connection to the lord of the rings but still buy at absurd prices because you hope to hit a big investment like a serialized card.
