I was belly laughing at that one. Pig is pretty good at this it's just that the first round was super hard to judge. He explains his thought process very well (even more so than Captain) and is one of the best guests so far.

Absolutely. I had the same thought. Suppose almost everybody votes for Diamond 3, Platinum 1, Platinum 2, Platinum 3 and Gold 1. But Gold one slightly has the most amount of votes. Then this counts as Gold 1 vote for the community when Platinum 2 would have been way more accurate.

I picked gold 1 for the first game and when they both went diamond I was like, oh crap I'm not going to be even close! How did I not notice they were better? And then gold 2 came up, lmao that was hilarious. I think to be fair to the contestants, the first match should have a cap of 4 points.

Yeah, the moment I saw that probe not even trying to block the CC from landing I was like "this can't be high level" , so I was very surprised at Pig's and Harstem's picks.

What I learned: European gold 2 is NA Diamond 1

I think that is fairly close to correct even a year on. Eu players do tend to be older I think, watch far more pro games and so they have a much better idea of what a build order looks like even if they are not using one, they also all even starting day one players use 5-6+ control groups. But NA players are much better at cheese and in general micro, many EU players will not really micro at all. Adepts are far less common and every EU protoss is fast expanding like HerO right now, where as on the NA ladder, you see way more Has/PrintF style games.

Great video, its fun to guess along. But I do think the community is poorly represented by this method. Look at the stats and how well they have done over 3 episodes, the community should be invited to participate in the finals.

Next season you should do a warm up round, or maybe everyone throws out their worst round, because way too may people do really well, but just didn't know what they were doing in the 1st round. (Looking at you clem/winter in the finals)

I got 18 points today. . . . R1: D1 - 8 points R2: M1 - 0 Points R3: P3 - 2 Points R4: S1 - 8 Points First three rounds, I made the same guesses as Pig. Although where he went down from P1 to P3 in round 3, I went up from G2 to P3. I was way off on round 4.

Usually I'm terrible at rank roulette, but this time I was only ONE level in one game away from the perfect 0 point score :-) Having played in all those levels myself except for the one I guessed wrong, I think Hamster showed clips which are very representative of the level, so well done Hamster!

Yep that first one was totally like one of my games I was like this can't be higher than plat and I'm gold. Protoss reacted kinda safe with the cancel. I would have don't that when idk what's going on but then 0 micro which is totally something I'd forget about under that stress.

huh, I think that might be the first time I've seen the corn syrup problem mentioned on the internet. short version: all those ethanol fuel additives are coming from corn crops grown just for that and don't actually use much of the product. the unused material still needs to be dealt with so it gets broken down and mostly put right back into the fields but in the case of the corn syrup it actually needs to be essentially treated as low-grade toxic waste and broken down fully to be disposed of, since doing that isn't exactly free they much prefer to use another option if at all possible...so they will literally pay you to take it from them. the end result is that it gets used as filler material in almost everything since it is literally less than zero cost to put corn syrup in there. edit: and when I say everything I mean _everything_ it's everywhere from soda to canned foods to bread to _motor oil and soaps_

For the first game I guess platinum 2, so I was at least closer than them. They definitely seemed to overestimate. Very few people in diamond are going to do all of the silly things done here (bad/no unit micro, PF rush, tidy mass cannon line, mass to BCs, carriers and tempests so decisively and unnecessarily)

My guesses were P3, M2, P1, P1. 2 off in the first round & 1 off in all the other rounds, not too shabby! Guessed P2 for the 3rd round of GSL vs the World, was P1, so close!

I think the first game was kind of unfair, like once someone fucks up this bad, he can never reach finals, although Harstem got it super wrong as well. What if the decision of who reaches the finals was made by looking at the contestants point difference to Harstem rather than their absolute points?

Here was my guesses to the matches. ( Keep in mind. This was with just what was shown in this video. I would pause BEFORE they where reasoning out their own guesses and of course before things where revealed. It made it a bit harder to judge since what I got to see was only a fraction of what they got to see of these matches. ) First match seemed like Gold. ( Part of me was also thinking Silver but I settled on Gold. ) Second match seemed like Platinum. Third game seemed like Gold. Fourth game seemed like Platinum. Match 1 was Gold. I was correct there. Match 2 was Masters. I was not correct. Match 3 was Platinum. I was not correct. Match 4 was Diamond. I was not correct. I got 1 out of 4 of them.. Considering I did not get to see the whole thing I guess that is not too bad. I did get close on the calls at least. ( With the exception of the second match that is XD )

Knew the first one was gold. They didn't notice that the players' actions were slow and focused only on one thing at a time. A diamond league terran will not forget to switch modes on the thor or get high ground vision or float a planetary around for that long, they know they're on the clock and can't risk getting proble blocked, also THERE WAS NO PROBE BLOCK. I'm a diamond terran and I'm almost offended.

This genuinely seems like wood league adventures. I have not seen this kind of gameplay since beta of WoL when it comes to my own gameplay.. ( And when it comes to videos.. I would say not since a specific announcer/game reviewer used to still be around.. Or this duo caster team used to do casts.. Thinking about it they both stopped doing stuff around the same time.. One due to.. Well. You know.. And the other two I think they lost interest. )
