So when I was younger, I used to call myself a "meatetarian" because I loved pretty much all protein... then, in my twenties, I went vegetarian, basically on accident. Meat was expensive and took time to prepare, carbohydrates were easy and cheap. I gained so much weight, my skin went to crap, I felt so drained and exhausted all the time. Early this year [at 33], I went hard on including more protein, lots more, like at least half my meal, cutting way back on carbs, no more candy or sugary things or worthless salty snacks. Would instead eat a packet of tuna when I felt snacky... I've lost 50 pounds in six months, feel better than I ever have, and my chronic pain from accidents in 2012 is so much better! I cannot recommend including meat enough to people, I eat far less and feel full for so much longer. I actually enjoy what I eat instead of just shoveling food into my body. It's awesome to know that part of the reason I feel infinitely better is because I'm actually getting the vitamins I've always needed. Used to get bronchitis once a year, not this year! I've barely been sick! And I no longer need my preventive migraine meds, because I hardly have them now. Keep up the good work! I love watching your videos and learning more about real nutrition!

@@spongeboy6648 I'm working on increasing the amount of meat I'm eating and including things like liver, unfortunately my life is a bit hectic right now, so I'm not doing as good with that as I could be. Thank you for the reminder about that! =)

Btw, I have been eating quite a bit of liver (2x a week) for 2 months and I am already noticing improvement in my eyesight. I have night blindness and I hope it can be resolved in a few more months!
@november1800
@november1800 5 лет назад
I experienced the same thing... I don't have bad eyes or night blindness, but my eyesight is simply sharper. Suddenly I noticed I could see more detail in the distance. I can also tolerate more sunlight than before, less need for sunglasses, rarely wear them these days. And we had a few very sunny days last week. Have been eating liver all my life (I like it - especially chicken liver - but most people I know hate it), but last couple of months much more than before. Went from once or twice a month to once or twice a week, with larger portions. I also eat more fish (especially herring - I'm Dutch, we love it), to load up on primarily DHA, EPA and iodine. That doesn't harm either I guess.
@di3486
@di3486 5 лет назад
November Nice! I really hope my eyesight improves significantly. I am eating more herring, mackerel too. I was fed liver as a kid. I am originally from southamerica but my health started to decline significantly when I moved to the US, so I am now trying to fix all the damage.

I have noticed improvements too eating lightly cooked or "high" liver (I alternate). If my vision is blurry I go out and get some sun into my eyes. It clears up a lot faster now once I get sun in there.

@TheOnecosmos It was a joke, but I get it that not everyone has the same sense of humour. So mix it up with some roasts and organ meat. Heck if adding veg works for you do that. Just don't get sucked into an all vegetable diet.
@garysmith9818
@garysmith9818 5 лет назад
@TheOnecosmos *shrugs* Well, if you want to read into things what was never put there in the first place, that's up to you. As for me, after a life time of eating lots of vegetables (though admittedly never able to become pure vegan, I got too hungry and weak) and getting sicker, even to the point of cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure, and all this by age 61, trying the experiment and switching to meat has brought my diabetes under control, my Dr. is happy with my follow up cancer blood work, and I was able to get off some of my blood pressure medicine though not all of it. If vegetarianism and veganism work for others then by all means stay the course, it's obviously the right diet for them, but it didn't work for me. If we could all love and tolerate we'd be fine, but when I see people who have all the classic symptoms of starvation telling me I have to eat as they do and even threaten to make meat eating illegal for reasons that make no logical sense, I do tend to get a bit peeved, I know I shouldn't, but my own experience, and having a granddaughter become disabled because of the diet, all the while pushing how she was so moral because "little animals" it's hard not to have some strong emotions, sorry.
@garysmith9818
@garysmith9818 5 лет назад
@TheOnecosmos Hi, I have to admit I probably did misunderstand you a bit, and I probably wasn't as clear as I meant to be as well, sorry about that, mea culpa, I suspect miscommunication has plagued humans since we learned to grunt. I do see your point that just eating muscle meat will probably reveal problems of its own in the long term just like veganism has. I think Frank and others are trying to address that with talking about organ meats and "head to tail" eating of a food animal, and I wouldn't be surprised if some people found certain plant foods beneficial as well (though certainly not eating plants as recommended by the "Food Pyramid" or the modern "SAD" diet). We do have some history of problems with carnivore eating, for example, all the sailors of old who would get scurvy usually had diets of heavily salted muscle meats, usually pork, but nothing else except maybe twice baked flat bread in the form of hardtack, eventually it was found that citrus fruits, and later things like sour kraut did put some vitamin C back in the diet, so, there was a deficiency due to a rather unnatural eating of just highly salted muscle meat from one type animal, it at least serves as a cautionary tale that carnivores also need to be smart about their eating. The Kevore diet sounds interesting, I see there isn't much available under that name on the web but I will look into it. Thanks for letting me know about it.
@garysmith9818
@garysmith9818 5 лет назад
@TheOnecosmos Amen, and amen, lol. :)bd
@garysmith9818
@garysmith9818 5 лет назад
@TheOnecosmos That's one theory, yes, but it's not the only one, personally I don't think it is the right one. Amen comes from the Hebrew root "aman", meaning "to secure", and in its variant "amen" it means "I affirm" or "so be it". Sorry, I see no hidden light here. There is also another theory that it is a semitic variant on the Sanskrit word aum (or om if you wish).

Frank, You should invest in a strong light source. Place it above yourself and try to diffuse that light slightly. It will look better and your board will be the focus of attention. Also, try to set up the camera angle from a 3/4 perspective, relative to the board. This way you won't cover the board while explaining your points. Have something like Dr.Eric Berg's set up. As a point of reference. As you can see, your board's metallic frames are catching most of the light, but not the board itself. A single, slightly diffused light source, from the top at a 45 degree angle, will be helpful in your presentation. Hope this helps. Best, Chinmay

I don't quite understand your comments on vitamin C. It's very easy to get it in large amount in nature. Some wild fruits are super-high in vitamin C. Yeah, they may be seasonal, but pretty much in most climate zones you can easily exceed vitamin C RDA many times for several months per year. And another clue that we've been getting it in high amounts is that we can't synthesise it, unlike most animals. I've realised that I have vitamin C cravings when I consume large amount of carbohydrates, but they get less intense on a low-carb diet.

Great, thanks! Although I think you shouldn't despise plant foods as much as you do. We need animal products AND plants in our diet. And yes, you can convert carotenoids into retinol if you have a healthy gut. In nature, spring and summer are the bloom of plants: fruits, leaves, vegetables. We're supposed to eat more plant foods in summer and more animal foods in fall and winter.

Great video Frankie...only thing I am not sure about is when you say vitamin c in great amount is dangerous. True it does not exist in nature in large quantities. However, as someone who has seen great benefits from megadosing with vitamin c and knowing lots of people who have been cured of all kinds of things, I would probably look more into it before judging if mega-dosing has its place in our medicine cabinets or not. I personally have used it on multiple occasions instead of antibiotics, and swear by a daily dose. Vitamin C is water-soluble, so nothing dangerous is supposed to happen since you will excrete whatever the body is not able to absorb after a certain point (the bowel tolerance point). Coupled with other things such as garlic, and essential oils I have once cured a crazy tooth infection where the dentist wanted to give me antibiotics and pull out the tooth. Less than 1 week later and everything was back to normal, and placebo apart, i am sure that a big part can be attributed to the mega dosing of VC. So don't cut it off yet, please, its a real lifesaver. You may want to look more into the studies of Linus Pauling as well, which im sure you must know from your years of researching health etc. Keep up the good work brother!

Nice work frankie! but you could be a little more accurate with your methylation explaination. Methylation is always responsible for making substances like Creatine, Melatonin , Neuro-Transmitters , Adrenaline , Adrenal Hormones , and the big one phosphatidylcholine! PC and creatine creation in the body uses up about 80% of your methylation, Which is your methylation groups which are donated to the cycle ( folate ) . Bile is mostly PC so having your methylation functioning is 100% vital for health. This alone with the lack of B12 is the sole reason why vegans should eat animal products, supplements simply do not work. without B12 your methionine cycle gets blocked and methylation cannot function resulting in impaired detox pathways, accumulation of metals , poor melatonin production ( explains vegans poor sleep) and by heavy consumption of the useless Folic Acid in vegan enriched food which binds to folate receptors and blocks Methyl-Folate. You could litterally do a standalone video on this and how vegans suffer with there health due to lack of Methylation Nutrients which occurs in animal foods. Creatine , B12 , Choline are the big ones.

Does anyone eat raw chicken livers from the supermarket raw ?... I’ve got no added hormone, no AB, free range chicken livers and I want to eat them raw, but hesitant!
