Advice: mix the eggs, then add the cake mix and mix again and THEN add the M&Ms, it'll be much easier that way. Also, you don't need two cutting boards to flip the cake, just flip it with your hands, the cake isn't going to fall out in the second you're flipping.

Its why you can eat mayonnaise, which is made from raw eggs. Flour on the other hand comes from wheat which is often fertilized with manure, which can carry deadly e. coli bacteria. Wheat isn't washed before processing into flour and cross-contamination with the manure is much higher, so there's a much higher chance to get sick from it than from the eggs.

When you need to literally paint the batter into the cake pan, that's usually an indicator that the cake is going to come out SUPER DRY. Good idea, maybe just add a bit of oil to the batter next time :)

These would make small, thicker cookies if you used a cupcake pan. Put the M&M’s in the freezer for 15 minutes, lightly dust them with a bit of the cake mix. Mix the eggs first, add cake mix & mix those together well, gradually add the M&M’s and this SHOULD help them be more evenly spaced out in the giant “cookie”. I would use less M&M’s and make them in cupcake pans, and ice them anyhow with a creamy icing. I might try this with my granddaughter and divide the eggs and cake batter into even amounts and then use a variety of candies. Do a teach in the moment and make predictions of what you think will happen. Ex: gummy bears, would make them runny or sticky or take longer to bake, might burn, the candy might harden when cooled…write down your candies used and the predictions. Also, rank the flavor of the cookie concoctions from each person’s eating from least to favorite and compare/contrast. See another teachable moment!! {Can you tell I’ve been a teacher for 23 years?} Try these: Peanut butter filled M&M’s Gummy bears Coconut (Almond Joy candy bars chopped up and freeze for a few minutes as well-might add 5-10 min. in the freezer. Same with Heath Bars Butterfinger PayDay Snickers Carmelo bars would be messy but yummy. (Not certain if they would make it into the batter!!) Skittles Starbursts Mini marshmallows
