Devlin may have three rings now but dude graduated from an Ivy League school and went undrafted as a defensive lineman. Forced to go to the Arena League for a year where he learned to play fullback, he then spent two full seasons on the Bengals practice squad before signing with the Pats. Crazy journey.

That's the beauty of the Patriots , though isn't it? Individually they're all unlikely. You got a coach who flunked out of Cleveland and bailed on the Jets and a QB who was drafted in the sixth round who built this dynasty together that everyone expects to win every year. Their Super Bowl MVP was a WR who played QB in college, I can't remember the last time Josh Gordon didn't finish a season suspended, and if AB had gone to any team other than New England, we'd be talking about what a disaster he is, not how he's going to be this year's version of 2007 Randy Moss, who also was toxic coming out of Oakland that year until he put up numbers in New England. Individually, the Patriots are all unlikely champions, but together they are a juggernaut.
