'Why aren't people more alarmed?': As Trump becomes more extreme, Americans get used to it 

I think the main problem is that many people will just say "that's just Trump being Trump; he doesn't actually mean that"; and also that they personally will not be affected because they don't see themselves as in the groups he will target. They're wrong on both counts.

65 yrs after my first time touring the United States and falling in awe of it, today I have finally reached the conclusion that too many American voters are simply too simple minded to recognise reality.

The fact that so many people cheer his hateful comments is so disappointing. It’s ridiculous.

I think the question is more accurately phrased "why aren't more people alarmed." Those of us paying attention are pretty damned alarmed. The question is why everybody else is so deficient.

…. are they forgetting a couple years ago when Desantes in Florida did something similar; and overnight all the migrants that were working in construction, landscaping, housekeeping and service industries got up and left Florida. Everything came to a grinding halt. I never heard how he resolved that issue after such an embarrassment.

I watched Trumps Q and A at the Economics Club of Chicago where Trump was asked if there would be a peaceful transfer of power in January. He said "Of course. The last time was peaceful too." The audience stood up applauding. Those people are morons. People died.

Life in the United States is proceeding very much as it always has. I get up go to work, come home and look forward to my weekend. I will work in my yard, tinker with the car and visit with my friends and family. Where are all these dire circumstances that Trump and his MAGA cult followers are worried about? Yes, we have crime in our cities, but most of it is committed by our current citizens. We have shootings because our corrupt politicians refuse to take any action on the guns. They kowtow to special interest that flood our country with weapons of war. Any legislation meant to improve the lives of citizens is vetoed before it comes to floor discussion. Just look at our current Congress. They have literally done nothing to better anyone's life. And now they refuse to fund FEMA to help your fellow citizens who suffered though the last two hurricanes. The majority of people being vilified by MAGA are legal immigrants. They pay taxes and work hard at jobs Americans will not perform. MAGA is scared, but not a scared as they will be when the jobs of some service workers go unfilled and their cheeseburgers go uncooked, or when there are no farm workers to harvest the produce. That is only the beginning. Construction projects will not be possible. Healthcare aides and child care workers will be deported for doing nothing but trying to better themselves and the families future by being here in the United States. MAGA wants to deport all migrants simply because they are not like MAGA, white and Christian. That does not sound like much of a reason to distroy and entire workforce that has done nothing but support the infrastructure of this country. Do no buy into this bill of goods being sold to you by people who want you to be frightened,, twenty-four hours a day.for their own political gains. Are you really that stupid to fall for this nonsense, or are you not paying attention to the political coup taking place all around you?
