as the only child and only grandchild on my father's side, the fate of my bloodline lies on my hand. And I'll probably end it.

The vibe~ is a bit off leh haha. This felt like a job interview or survey, rather than a street interview. The previous male host felt more natural~ and comfortable.

Sry but i think not enough credit/responsibility goes to the PDs, the previous Hot Takes had more experienced ppl like Sew and Cuiwen. I believe they would have stepped in to guide Selina and change the interview direction and flow

The choice of where this interview took place is interesting given that the lowest age here seemed to be in the upper 20s! Most people I've talked to (more so the older Gen Zs) have vastly different opinions on having kids

Love the content & loving the host & topics too!! It's a real & sad thing about young married couple don't want to have kids hence the low born rates in singapore..

Quite boring interview… stop halfway Please ask open ended questions rather than yes/no… Like… instead of any joy having a kid, ask what are the joy of having a kid And can change the questions, don’t need to stick to the script. Very repetitive and yawns

Past hot take all ask the same set of qns leh I believe hosts are given a script to ask same qns

Every one just looks at their phone n iPad even kids. I don’t think it’s a good thing to have kids in this century.

This phenomenon is common in other Asian countries as well, such as Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong (and others), and there seems to be increasing preference for dogs and cats or other pets too.

I loved the second interviewee's response. So true.. having a child is a major decision and one should respect someone's decision completely on starting a family. I'm sure they have their own reasons.

I'm surprised that the following isn't raised often in this video: One reason some Singaporeans may not want to have a kid(s) is that there's not much to life in Singapore beyond the standard path of study, work, retire, and that there are limited things to do beyond work. Even when we talk about work, most people are presented with quite a limited range of career pathways. For example, what if the person has a strong inclination towards the arts or sports? Only the privileged are able to move abroad to pursue these interests and lead a dignified life. On that note, it's one thing to want to experience the joy of parenting - nothing wrong with that in itself. But it's also important to consider the wants and needs of the child... otherwise, it does come across as a rather selfish endeavor.

Very strange that one of the questions phrased was “are there any joy in having kids?” Close ended and also a bit lame bcuz those asked this qn are parents, of course there is joy! A better way to phrase is What’s the best thing about having kids…
@penguin6700
@penguin6700 5 месяцев назад
Juggling both work and care taking is what is tough about parenting. It doesn't take so much to raise a kid. Your employers expect the same from a mother with kids and someone with no children.

Metropolitan cities have trends from 1990s to 2010s. Behavioural science of office-elevator-lifts to high-density residential apartments, ... Different trend charting from farmers and villagers and small cities. It is expensive for 1. Remittance level of play for most. Hub level of logistics. And juvenile politicians with their imbeciles-social being obvious...
