In this video, I talk about Tunecore Publishing and why every artist and music producer should sign up with them, or similar companies. Disclaimer: This video is not sponsored by Tunecore
But if I have my music already distributed over TuneCore to basically all platforms, then why would I also need the Tunecore Publishing? Only for it being played live/radio??
Hi Doniel. So with your music being streamed on all platforms, without having a publishing admin set up, you may only be collecting stream revenues, which you would see displayed on your dashboard. Whereas having something like Tunecore Publishing along with that, they will help collect writer's royalties for example, among other type of royalties. These won't be listed on your Tunecore dashboard. These royalties will be mailed out to you via check or direct deposit if you have that setup.
Hey. Sorry for such a late reply. But I'd make sure if something is distributed, you could add the RU-vid content ID feature to those releases in case someone else uses it in another RU-vid videos. Unless it's a popular sample you have a license that's not exclusive to you, it might be common courtesy to not add a content ID to it but that's still technically optional. Tunecore publishing will help you retrieve royalties from other platforms outside of just streaming income.
From what I recall when I had them, they would typically collect it and disburse it when it reaches a certain amount like $100 or something similar. But it might be a different process
Back when I used them, they would typically collect on your behalf and disburse it when it gets to a certain amount like $100 or more. But it might be different at the moment.
