Why Automatic Gears are limiting You! F1 2021 

thank you for the video! since you started this "series" that shows how much the assists slow you down I disabled all the assists I can (i cannot disable the TC and ABS because i play F1 2021 on keyboard 😞). since then I'm feeling much faster than I was with assists! so thank you for all!

Hi Marcel, thanks for all the tutorials. I've just started my sim racing journey (F1 2021 no assists), only 2 weeks into this I find myself down 10 to 11 seconds off of record paces. You guys are truly incredible! My goal now must be to find 3.5 sec per sector. Thanks for lighting this fire into me, I am determined to find these lap times. Good luck with PSGL, ESports this year!

Another great tutorial, keep them coming! The biggest issue that keeps me using Auto is downshifting and gear selection. Hopefully you can assist with this in the follow up tutorial

Very nice to see that im not stupid for getting tracklimits in 80% of my laps on TT. Pro drivers do it aswell.

For starters, I've been using medium TC all the time in F1 2021, and just an hour ago I ended my first race without TC at all, my McLaren career in Spa after watching your video and observing others. I already got the technique down, but I need to learn to be extra careful in places such as Bus Stop where I easily lose the rear end. I still kept ABS on though. Ohne dieses Video von dir hätte ich es nicht gebacken bekommen. And as a stick shift driver, I can appreciate how controlling your own gears is very important and, done right, of great benefit. I couldn't do it when I was on the pad (because I have motor coordination issues with my fingers), but when I switched to the wheel, it's manual gears from the start.

I always forget what gear to be in going into corners lol, changing up is OK. The main different I noticed is shifting up out of corners which helps lessen the wheel spin especially in wet conditions. and it is more noticeable when I see Esports drivers against noobs like me out-drag us from the corners.

Thanks Marcel, I do play without assists on controller except racing line on braking but it has been soo much better now and I can beat 95 ai and 100 ai in some tracks.

Hey Marcel! Thanks for this video! Amazing stuff. I was wondering if you could do a series playing “career mode” starting your own team and then climb through the grid and things like that! It would be awesome.

My issue is that I don't have a wheel and pedals yet, and shifting on a controller (PS5) is not easy or fun.

When driving around a track, do you count up and down through the gears in your head? I find it hard to keep track of which gear I am in, especially in a braking zone where I am also thinking about braking and turning

Hey Marcel! Really like your videos, there's plenty to learn and you explain very well. I would really be interested in a little more advance video on short shifting. I play with all assists of but I noticed that in a lot of turns during the Esports series, you're 1 or even sometimes 2 gears higher than what I do, and I'de like to know why and how you do it since when I try it's doesnt always makes me faster. Hey Marcel, great video's mate. I play without assists but have to keep automatic gears due to finding it extremely awkward on a controller. I used to play with a wheel until it died and am currently saving 😅. Any suggestions for controller key mapping for the manual gears as I'd love to give up the silly auto shifter! I was wondering as I use automatic abs and tc, is this why the AI always accelerate out of corners better than me? Also my race starts even though I do starts manually I always lose 3/4 positions depending on the circuit, are assists to blame for that? Because I can see my reaction time isn’t bad at all for the clutch. I’m gonna try using manual tomorrow on controller, hopefully it’s not too hard 🙃

It looks like I’m only person who using all this assists and still faster than me without assists. I’m driving the same good lap on/off, and on assists faster, I don’t know why. I’d tell without assists I’m driving badder lap, but it’s not.

Hello marcel , thanks for motivating me to use tc off . I try it in Bahrain and now I am getting around 4tenth off my best lap and only spin out of 5 laps 1 lap. But what should I do now should I try do over and over again to get time?

How long have you been using a wheel for?

I think even for a great driver, to master the fastest combo of manual shift and no tc, takes many months and hundreds of races (with a pad, maybe faster with wheel) I have mastered with a pad med tc and auto shift and there are not too many people faster than me. but the people that are faster than me use manual shift and the few fastest guys have mastered manual, no tc after a year of play. this is f1 2020 though which is a better game than 2021.

Do you think you can make a video, on how to maximize BREAKING and how to really perfect it ?
