Cost is the biggest reason I haven’t looked into it too much. Costs a hell of a lot to get all the tools, batteries and chargers initially. Suppose there’s always transitioning a bit at a time

Slow transition is probably the best way for most, its a long term investment, but battery is a (in my opinion) much more productive way of working, so time/money saved or made. 👍👍

Noise is a big one. Before you go battery you don't think it matters. Less vibration is another good one. Still need the big pertrol blower.
@jasongardener3425
@jasongardener3425 2 года назад
That's very true, if I hear a gardener using 2 stroke machines, in the garden next door to my client, it's so noisy and really brings it home, how invasive that noise and irritating. Cheers mate 👍

Good vide Jason. My opinion for what it’s worth is, without restricting yourself on jobs, can you run a business solely on 2 stroke kit? yes. Can you run a business solely on battery kit? No. I have both do enjoy the best of both worlds but the petrol often comes out for the tuff stuff.

I've gone dewalt for the simple reason you can use the batterys for so many other tools drills impact wrench saws etc etc ... battery is the future it's only a matter of time before they stop producing 2 strokes ... battery to start up well if you got a massive budget ... think most people start with a small budget and work there way up ... not used a petrol hedge trimmer or strimmer all year just battery .. I do need the petrol mower I do tackle sone ruff ass gardens at times 🤣👍👍👍👍👏👏👏

Totally agree, how you run your battery, across different tools, it's very much what works best for you, starting out is tricky at the best of times, but see where your coming from 👍. Take care in this hot weather 👍

Good video Jason, very thoughtful and thorough. Love battery gear myself, for all the reasons you mentioned. Only issue I've ever had is leaving batteries overnight in the van in freezing weather, had to pop them on a radiator for 20 minutes before charging. I wouldn't go back to 2 stroke now.

Sthil HLA 86 with an AP 300S battery cutting spruce hedge in -14C ran 6h pretty much straight here in Finland last winter. Got the machine because of you. There is no going back to 2 stroke. The comparison would be me fighting Andre the Giant.

What mortgage rate did you get?🤣 Or is it sponsored by Stihl? I remember they gave you some machines back along. Won't ever be buying any myself whilst petrols available and I'm still fit and strong. There's some benefits but more negatives I'm my opinion.

Apart from the kma135r (kombi unit) it's all bought and paid for, battery isn't for everyone and if 2 stroke is your choice, that's totally fine, we all look for something different in tools. 😊👍

love your videos, we have just brought the Stihl telescopic long handle and it is amazing and the power, we are looking at getting more but i am kind of stuck on which short handle to get we currently use the hs82r's, i see the 130r and the other r are both cable powered not just battery slotted into it which is putting me off a bit, how did the HSA100 go? i am guessing that would be just as good as the old HS82r's?

Thank you🙂. The hsa100 is a really good trimmer, but not as powerful as the hsa130 and if you prefer that little more power, the hsa100 won't suit you, the 130 is a excellent machine 👍

@MrTikdo
@MrTikdo Год назад
you can hedge a whole day on 9am till 6pm on 2 battery's ak range or ap range from sthil and you wont even use all off the 2nd battery. weed eater and blowers drain the battery's fast and not worth it. from my experience go battery everything apart from weed eater and mower stick with petrol on these 2
@brianconnor1810
@brianconnor1810 2 года назад
Question Jason, when using the stihl hs82r for the thick stuff, is there an equivalent battery hedgecutter that cuts the same thick diameter for hedge, conifer reductions? I will definitely not be buying a battery lawn mower, it's the one thing that I don't think will change. I'm cutting lots of different types of lawns daily and battery lawnmowers don't have the torque or runtime for a days cutting of wet grass. I still think there a long way off in the lawnmower evolution to even be comparable to top quality mowers.
@jasongardener3425
@jasongardener3425 2 года назад
The stihl hsa94 r, I did a review video, probably 18 ish months ago, it's definitely very capable of the heavy cutting work, I love the 18in rma 448 battery mower, but it's very much what suits you and what your happy with. 👍👍
