Anyone remember Secret Saturdays, which is the other show that kind-of crossed over with Ben 10 Omniverse? I've never really seen people talk about it.

Generator rex was criminally underrated even when it was airing. The animation and art was the best man of action has ever done and the story was rock solid. I miss the show so much and if love a reboot of continuation of the show. Also because of cartoon network waiting to make toys. And also that intro was the best one of all time on cartoon network let's be honest.

Ben 10 Omniverse was actually “cancelled” because the toy sales weren’t high enough. The last three season of the show were aired at 6 am so CN could get tax returns from the show. Although the show did get a conclusion, most people (including myself) never saw it because it was on so early. I assumed the show was cancelled after season 5. Its a shame too, since I think the last three season of Omniverse were the best in the show.

I see the fact Rex didn't get a toy with magnets function. a base set with rex and the fists, and every other charather with another weapon. I mean, marvel has been doing it for years with their "build a gigant charather" set of action figures.

All im hearing is don't give an action show to CN. They will find a way to ruin it sooner or later, but yeah generator rex was good.

Truth be told Generator Rex is the superior series; the Story was better, more engaging characters, an awesome villain with the most badass theme song in villain history

Generator Rex was so much better when it came to their characters, the dynamic between Rex, six and professer holiday was so great. They did a good job of showing how procadence(the plumbers basically),, saw Rex as an asset not a person which translated really well into his actual character which was super likable

Generator rex was the perfect series to try and license out to lego, or do a build your own rex weapon type toy it's dumb they never did this. I understand story wise why they didn't give rex more weapons, but i think that really shot them in the foot toy wise. Especially after rex was able to build new weapons, or even release the upgraded weapons from ben10/gen rex crossover as toys

I liked the show's style and designs. The toys could have used some more time in the oven however.

I honestly think it's good thing that Generator Rex is sorta a niche cartoon, means it isn't treated like a marketing tool, shoving toys down my throat. And plus, despite the ending shattering my suspension of disbelief, I'm happy it wasn't milked into a lifeless husk of a once good show. it will always be good.

It's a shame Generator Rex failed where Ben 10 succeeded. It filled the niche Ben 10 once filled when that franchise decreased in quality, at least for me!

I detest Cartoon Network for refusing to air Ninjago or even advertising it even though the show is so good and deserves the air time.

Hey, at least Generator Rex GOT some toys. Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Beware the Batman didn't get anything besides some collector figures, and those are for adults. We recently got a Beware Deathstroke bust YEARS after the show's cancellation, and again, that's aimed at adult collectors.

even when ben 10 crossed over into generator rex it still felt kind of stale, even though i though it was cool. they could have used ben having nanites inside of him into a story plot for when he went back to his own world.

I agree with your thoughts on the look. Ben 10's designs are bright, colorful, and look like toys. Generator Rex's lighting was more saturated , grainy, and the detailed made the show look more like an almost-anime for teenagers. I can easily visualize the aliens on the shelves at Target (next to Pokemon where I used to frequent). But I can see Rex with his giant mechanic fists and Six posing with his sword as high quality PVC collectable figures.

I absolutely loved Generator Rex growing up. I'm actually still a moderator of the wiki lol. It was one of my favorite shows growing up. Somewhere along the line, you can tell they wanted to appeal to children more and it just ended up getting a little silly at times whereas season 1 was one of the best.

Thank you! Generator Rex was leaps and bounds better in terms of story and characters over what Ben 10 is now! I'm glad they gave Generator Rex a satisfying enough ending without destroying the show, but I do wish it got more love than it does right now.

I really enjoyed this video. As a fan of Ben 10, it’s really sad that Cartoon Network cares about the money, and the quality, which do affect a lot of shows. Though the reason why I believe Generator Rex was forgotten could be because got the terrible scheduling, and issue that Cartoon Network had for so long. Which sucks, because Generator Rex is amazing like you said, even if I barely saw the show (at the time of this comment) I will say this, if I ever make a cartoon, I’ll focus on the quality and storytelling, because to me, the fun of the show is telling everybody your story. 😎

Generator rex was greatly under appreciated and good throughout. Ben 10’s best seasons were the original show and alien force.

I think Generator Rex is man of action's masterpiece and I believe that it got the number of seasons it needed to tell that story, after all it's finale felt like a finale not a hook for the next series. Ben 10 however is a cash cow one they will continue to milk until it runs dry because that's what it was made for. They are different kinds of series both filling out their purpose. Don't let the donkey pull the stage coach kind of deal.

Generator rex did tell a complete and kept up its quality. So it isn't the worst thing. I am not that upset there isn't a reboot in the ben 10 reboot style. The series conclusion was conclusive and satisfying so it doesn't really need a continuation. It falls into the gravity falls and roswell conspiricies camp for me. I really like it but i don't need a continuation or reboot. Mentioning roswell consprices biowolf looks like an evo lycanthrope from that series.

I agree with you. Generator Rex was a better show than Ben 10 and I personally felt that while watching it. Sometimes you prefer grounded and gritty action sequences (which were also done fantastically) than the fantasy element action scenes of Ben 10. For me, the story was also so great, I ended up wishing that it would be so much better if it were a live-action series.

If only they watched some Tokusatsu before making season 3. It could've save the show for at least 1 or 2 season.

Cartoon Network has a crippling fear of good shows that’s why they made the Ben 10 reboot

To be fair almost none of the Ben 10 community asked for Ultimate Alien, it was a cool idea in theory but when you get an alien dinosaur who can shoot rockets out of his hands- that's when you know ultimate aliens were just a marketing ploy. Alien Force was a big thing when it came out but looking back on it- a lot of the aliens were also lack luster. I mean Swampfire is just Heatblast but can control plants, Big Chill is just Ghostfreak but can freeze things, Chromeastone was just Diamondhead but with rave lights. Regardless what makes Ben 10 more interesting, to me as a 20 year old guy, is the world building which you don't get on the same scale as Generator Rex. Ben 10 has an entire universe of diverse and interesting alien races with their own interesting way of doing things. Though granted the show missed a huge opportunity by not really focusing on that, when it did focus on the culture of different aliens it was a blast to watch. This is my opinion is why Ben 10 is more popular then Generator Rex. Also like, Vilgax is THE most badass villain- just saying.

i don't think they expected it to be as big as Ben 10, while Rex(2010-2013) was airing Ben 10 alien force (2008-2010) was ending and Ben 10 Ultimate Alien (2010-2012)started both these shows were hyped up so much.

Honestly I really loved Generator Rex, I wish there was a sequel to it, it left so many unanswered Questiones, one of which is what happened to Van Kleiss and bio wolf! We saw them get Teleported by Breach at the end of the show, a continuation is needed.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I think the reboot is very underrated. When the reboot does a story like Omni tricked or Fulmini Innervasion, it does a really good job. Heck I'd argue that Vilgax's introduction in the reboot is far superior to his introduction in the classic series. Even apart from the story beats the show isn't all that bad and now the reboot is starting to do more of an overall story such as the forever knight. Honestly, I think the main reason the reboot gets so much flack is bcz it replaced the original. People are nostalgia blind and don't want to accept that the series they love is gone and replaced by a (good yet still inferior, in my opinion) reboot.

When Ben 10 Alien Force was released I was at my “I’m too good to watch cartoons” phase, but Generator Rex really catch me with the crazy sci-fy concepts. RIP in peace, my sweet prince [Man of Action guitar sounds]

"Airing on Toonami" well, that did not pan out for Megas XLR. Also, Sym Bionic Titan had reruns on Adult Swim, and this did not helped the show either. (A video about the aforementioned shows above would be nice, too!)

Honnestly I am a big fan of Ben 10 and came to terms with the reebot. I also kinda liked generater rex as a kid and seeing generator rex for what it truly is but if the reebot comes out for it i imagin it would be like the ben10's reebot and rhat seems like to much of a change

I cannot thank RU-vid enough for getting me a recommendation for this video. I'm a huge vanguard fan and as soon as I saw this video I went to my app store. I immediately downloading it. I really wish they would do that with Rex as well. it was a good show and I can definitely see it not being geared towards the younger kids. As a 6 year old kid I still liked Generator Rex, and so did most of my best friends at the time, I even bought a gen rex toy as a kid, I watched the crossover over and over and was obsessed with the theme songs. So I never understood why it got cancelled. I honestly think it needs a second shot or a reboot. Myaybe season 4 or sum like that.

The confusing thing about CN needing to make toys to earn a profit is that they have several successful shows that could easily have merch, that fans are actively ASKING for merch to be made, yet they just refuse to do it. Like OK KO, it would be easy for them to make merch but they don't want to, and does Steven Universe even have toys?

"their goal is not to make quality shows" this always sounded like an insult so i always shrugged it off and tried to make a more complicated evaluation of CN (maybe its a social/news related issue i just don't know about) when i see the newest things they do. But if its a legitimate goal of theirs, then a lot of things just make sense now.

Always wondered what happened to Generator Rex. I was 15 when it came out and it definitely appealed more to my age group then, say, the original Ben 10 would of at that time. Side note: I’ve never seen any of the newest reboot of Ben 10, and watching the clips in this video has me real worried.

Honestly, Generator Rex is the overall winner here. It was a great story, with decent world building and it finished decently enough answering questions and providing a nice conclusion. Ben 10 after Ultimate Alien just went downwards. The more mature themes where just dropped for the more kid-friendly onces, though I will say the multiverse thing was a high point all things considered. At the end, Ben 10 evolved greatly but the success of the dark, gritty seasons just make it more profitable and thus a cash cow to CN.

It's honestly ridiculous that shows have to be canceled because of toys sales. It's literally not fair to most people who watch and enjoys shows. I understand the whole company, business, money tactic, But I just wish studios would keep good shows running because people watch it and reviews are what make it great. Overall toys shouldn't be a reason why good shows should be canceled. I'm a ben 10 fan (except for the reboot) and so far I'm interested in watching generator rex and it kind of sucks knowing it has 3 season because you feel like they have so much more they have to offer.
