@@Butwhy23 They absolutely have been . Its just that alot of melee players seem to act like they are playing a harder/more skilled game because they are using slow melee weapons when in reality these are just as broken as any other build. The GUGS was meta even before this patch as it was entirely broken, i stopped using it because it got boring and too easy post DLC
@@BratSmimson-re9uw I don’t ever get killed by the GUGS in fact I am a GUGS user. I decided to start using other weapons and diversify as this weapon has gotten too easy and boring to play with . After the DLC .2 Handed Talisman and Retalitory cross tree made the pokes of this weapon entirely broken.. the damage is absolutely insane . 1800+ damage on a single r1 swing and 2000+ damage on its crouch poke which you can string. Then there is the mist ash of war true combos that are instant death to anyone who gets hit ONCE by this weapons huge r1 range and roll catched . The problem is that a lot of people don’t want to admit how strong a lot of these are and act like strenght builds are somehow the epitome of skill when in reality they are just as broken as every other build in the game. You cannot tell me that being able to land crouch pokes from the range of a great spear for 2000+ damage and being able to have a 2 hit death combo off of R1 is balanced bruh. In my personal opinion the problem isn’t that collosal weapons got buffed it’s that only certain collosal weapons needed to be buffed not all of them making the ones that didn’t need it (GUGS, Godslayers ) completely broken now
I love the Meteoric Greatsword especially since it scales with Arcane. Because....there's more to the word arcane than just bleed sleep poison procs. Wish there was magic spells that are exclusively arcane.
The Stinger AoE became rapidly a must for me once I got a try in arena after getting it, because it helps you outrun your opponents like their irl problems.

This is a very interesting meta, bonks, katanas, stances, the old stuff like rusted anchor and solitude greatsword still works too and most importantly the -FEET- PATA still a great weapon
We really need the PvP Invaders Olympic Invasion Competition, who would be the best PvPer? As duels are nice, but invaders seem to shine in adapting to the environment of invasion areas and turning it to an advantage.

1:30 pretty big error here. There’s a third type, shared by the Troll’s Golden Sword, Watchdog’s Greatsword, Grafted Blade Greatsword, and a slight variant in the Ruins Greatsword. They all swing vertically. Ruins Greatsword has an extended invisible shockwave hitbox that can stagger opponents but do 0 damage on an uncharged R2, and a gravity stone shockwave hitbox that shows up when fully charged. 5:16 another error: Golem Halberd’s R2 may be unique to Colossal Weapons, but it actually borrows it from the Serpent Hunter’s R2, which was specifically mentioned to be not buffed in this patch. A better demonstration would’ve been the Duelist Greataxe since it has the basic Colossal Weapon moveset.
I'm glad to see them improving attack speed for basic attacks. Because this game's combat has always felt like I was fighting at one x speed while the enemies were fighting at two x speed
I don't mind this patch one bit, thanks very much. Me and my big (legitimately big) bonky stick will go around and beat Shadow of the Erdtree now. Also, I know you probably don't care, but if you end up reading this Onlywaifu, I recently got into an argument about what deals more poise damage: Two-handing a weapon or powerstancing two of the same weapon. My argument was in favor of the two weapons since a jumping L1 comes out faster and is more realistic to hit without getting punished, while the other person argued that two-handed weapons deal more poise damage through charged R2s. My thought process was that a charged R2 is much harder to land consistently without being interrupted unless you know every facet of the game as well as possible, so you're more likely to deal better poise damage with a jumping L1 while powerstancing.
I'm seeing a lot of popular Elden Ring youtubers, such as you, Steelovsky, ChaseTheBro, Lost, and more are playing around with the colossal weapon category. What I am not seeing is the use of the Axe of Godfrey... I feel like this got buffed a lot and people are overlooking it... a) 1.14 heavy attack and crouch attack buff (latter pairs well with retaliatory crossed tree talisman) b) new DLC talismans (shattered stone talisman & two-handed sword talisman) c) new DLC armor (rakshasa set and the divine bird warrior greaves, but the latter's fashion just isn't for me, so I don't use them) Combine this with pre-DLC buffs for the axe, such as Roar medallion, Axe Talisman, Shard of Alexander, Highland Axe in off hand, Exalted flesh & Uplifting Aromatic, and I think it's a seriously strong build, even with the Quality Scaling of the weapon. I'd appreciate if you looked into that, or if other people in the comments could point out some major flaws in the weapon that I am overlooking. All feedback is appreciated!
Im surprised you didn't mention the fire knight greatsword which has the same heavy as the Zwei and also has the true combo from the crouch poke into unlocked R1 while looking down. Also It would be nice if you mentioned that you can use Leda's armor with the retaliatory crossed tree talisman for an insane boost to crouch attacks
