Minor Error at 4:15, there is actually a third weapon with innate arcane scaling that can be buffed, though again, it isn't as good as the ripple crescent halberd. It is significantly more amusing though, its Varre's Bouquet.

Varré's bouquet is often forgotten as a buffable arcane weapon. Mind you, the damage output is ass but it's the only weapon capable of inflicting both high bleed and high sleep at the same time. And it probably yields the highest possible bleed build-up of any weapon in the game when buffed with blood grease.

Honestly even after hundreds of hours, multiple playthroughs and a platinum trophy I still had no idea what arcane did, until now. Also the mystery weapon is the Glintstone Kris!!!

The Ripple Halberd only gets impactful with the sleep grease. With blood grease the bleed buildup won't get as high as an occult Vulgar Militia Saw, the 2 hit poison is nice but but using the poisonous mist ash on any occult weapon (like that occult Militia Saw) will also give you the proc in 3 hits.

3:34 Occult does not remove Madness buildup, that is a visual bug; Occult Fingerprint Stone Shield has 121 Madness buildup at 60 arcane

This is honestly a good video lesson to help understand how Arcane works. There are some who may believe it to be obvious, but it honestly helps to have a visual guide to show exactly what is going on.

Very nice vid i kinda didn't know how arcane worked since i'm more of a 'big weapon hit hard' type of player so i don't use status effects alot. The mystery weapon is the glintstone kris. I don't really like it due to its scaling. When i used it i had some succes with it and a cold flamberge. def not a first pick for me but it could be good.

My first guy was a claw boy with bleed and frost. I may consider dabbling in arcane next.

I went a dex and arcane mix during my playthrough, it was fun applying bleed on bosses pretty often.

I actually did know most of this already, and I am planning to do an arcane build on my next playthrough. Gonna use an occult morningstar and dragon communion incantations.

Varre's Bouquet also has arcane scaling, bleed build up, and can be buffed

Nice video, just a couple things though. First, regarding bleed buildup scaling with arcane: yes the arcane stat upgrades the bleed buildup. And also 60 arcane is a soft cap as you said, meaning that the weapon can (potentially) have more bleed buildup if you level up arcane to 99. I say potentially because the upgrade from 60 to 99 means 5 or 6 points of buildup on heavy weapons, it may be less on light weapons.

Rivers of Blood actually has a higher arcane scaling than it does with dexterity. At +10 with 12 str, 99 dex and 20 arcane it has 621AR. At +10 with 12 str, 18 dex and 99 arcane it has 645AR and arcane innately increases its blood loss buildup like. This is the same for Mohgwyn's Spear and Eleonora's Poleblade but the scaling is still a bit wonky for either strength or dex.

I like that two years later, I'm still learning about weapon drops that I've never seen. Between this halberd and the little demi-Human Bleed Dagger that I saw drop for the first time only four characters and hundreds of hours in, I'm clearly going to still be seeing new-to-me vanilla Elden Ring stuff well into my time with Shadow of the Erdtree.

This video gave me the idea to dual wield two Ripple Crescent Halberds with Blood Grease on both of them for insane bleed on bosses in PVE

My favourite build with the Ripple Crescent Halberd is an Int/Arcane build. Albinauric Staff off hand. Gavel of Haima. Sleep Greases. As they fall asleep I bonk them with the Gavel, it's so cool.

Discovery as a stat is the epitome of this game. I even have to level up to loot.

I ran an Arcane Dual Uchigatana Blood build in my 1st playthrough. It was pretty good.

Danes footwork, blood infused, rot wing sword, white mask, lord of blood’s exaltation, go brrrrrr.

I was gonna put this on my tv to have in the background while i clean up my room but instantly got into a trance when i immediately heard end of small sanctuary

I think this video might be the exact reason why I've encountered this build a few different times in Colosseum PvP lol Just made an arcane character aswell, certainly gonna try this out next time

My first play through was a dex, faith and arcane build mainly for dragon magic. It was only in New game+ I got my vitality past 40 😅

Two words: Golden Parry lol That is how to fight against it. Or my favorite shield crash. With latency shield crash can actually cancel out some incoming status build up or at least it has when dueling my friends who tried to bleed me with rivers of blood. Also fyi with how many people that use "meta" builds/setups i just equip one of the two exultations whenever i or whomever I'm helping get invaded. As it makes their "meta" status build a double edge sword against the invader. Like "ohh cool you got a 20% buff, guess what so did i and hit per hit i was already hitting harder than you" lmao. Although this is good info for those who didn't know about this but now I'm expecting more people using the easily parryable halberd set up lol. Edit: Love your videos and well done voice overs

Arcane is the best stat if used right, since you can scale rivers of blood (and the other bloody weapons) and the dragon comunion seal both off of arcane at the same time

The coil snake shield's ashe of war is also pretty good because it will usually poison the enemy in 1 hit, and pair it with a bleed Shamshir or Estoc or something and it's kinda painful, especially if there's multiple of them lol

“If your brain still runs on steam rather than electricity” seems weirdly phrased, I mean the majority of GwHs generated ultimately use steam to turn a turbine, things like fossil fuels or nuclear fission just heat the water to produce the steam

My RoB/Serpent Bow character is also my "farm all gear" character. But it does have that sleep halberd for emergencies.
