Some of em have histrionic personality disorder. Look up & read the Wikipedia article on it. Many employers do NOT want a black RoseAnne character in their office. What some black women view as flamboyant & charismatic? Some employers view as crass, fake & rude. It’s a balance. But it’s probably just plain HARDER… to BE… a black woman in a mostly white society.

There is really good reason for it, Puerto Rican. Read my above to Alexis. When the stock market crashed, the Great Crash, it is my understanding there were people that flung themselves out windows. My point is...people cope with trauma in different ways, and blacks aren't supposed to have reaction. They're simply expected to be abused and to shut up and take it. Now, I don't condone bad behavior. My goal here is not to make excuses for bad behavior. From past experience, I'm assuming they are trying to get my attention, as they left one hot tub to come to the one I'm in. I give them zero attention. Headphones on meditation to drown out the chatter about "he don't" and "dey better". Interestingly, I know they ride from the gym will be silent. Nothing to say. They are also playing loud music on their phone with the speaker instead of headphones like everybody else. Even I as a black man I dare not say anything. People like to be racist towards white people because they assume they have an excuse since white people are accused of being “oppressive” and “racist.” But I’m sure some people are that way, I know there’s bad people everywhere but it’s wrong to assume someone’s race makes them act a certain way. As a white woman, I love all people until a person gives me a reason to not. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt until they give me a reason to dislike them. But most of the people who complain about racism are white liberal women. Almost every person I’ve met who had dark skin was very humble and understanding (excluding a few) so I think it’s wrong to assume things or assume that people want or need your help just because you’re a white liberal. Let them help themselves. They’re just as capable if not more capable. They say the racism comes from Republicans, but Republicans like things to be fair. The Liberal Democrat handouts are the racist things because black people are small and helpless to them. As this man says, love has no color. Be nice to people!

Spectacularly untrue. Black women over the years have had to endure some of the most horrendous indignities and maltreatment ever meted towards human beings. This type of treatment commenced in West Africa and to a limited extent in Central Africa where the enslaved were packed like sardines crammed ships with little or no ventilation, no sanitation, little access to water and food and had to travel for months whilst men of the European origin raped and abused them in those poor conditions. Several died en route to the new world and for those who survived, their trauma had only just begun when they arrived in the new world. So, In contemporary times, what you see is what we call Transgenerational Trauma.

I'm a black woman. But mixed. I live with a black woman who is dark. We are roommates living in a house. When she talks, she's loud. And sometimes she yells. I'm a very quiet person. It bothers me. I'm a broken INFJ and I hate confrontation and conflict, because of my past bad experiences. I did tell her that one time to be quiet. And oh boy, she exploded. See, that's why I don't like confrontation. It got worse. So I told the landlord about her. He said that he can't throw her out. Have to wait till two or three months to evict someone. So I have to wait till June or July. Lol. I can't move out because I don't have enough money to do that. I also found out recently the reasons why people talk so loud is because they were once silenced and abused and never had a voice before or they have control issues and can be very bossy. Another reason why is because they need to feel superior. That's a sign of narcissism. Some people do it. Black women do it more. It depends on how everyone was raised.

Is it easier to believe the black girl was rude and disrespectful or is it easier to believe the white girls are innocent because they can shed a tear. Biology dictates Black woman and Asian men as being the least sought after by the opposite sex in the sexual marketplace. Therefore, this has nothing to do with racism at all as it is no different than a woman’s preference for a tall strong looking man over a short stocky bald one. Or a man’s preference for a slender woman with her curves in all the right places as opposed to plus sized. However, the one major difference between these two genders is that the Asian man will put in the work necessary in order to get what he wants. Whereas Black women on the other hand refuse to change and are likely to advocate for affirmative action instead.

One thing that bothers me about dealing with SOME black women is the sense of not being able to address things to them without feeling like there will be or knowing there will be a confrontation. Whether you come to them nicely, and get an attitude or you have to come to them to check them just as you would with someone who is behaving in a way that needs to be addressed, it seems to always have this undertone of a possible escalated argument or what have you. This applies to the specific type of black woman that is like this and no this is not only black woman that I have had this issue with but it seems to happen most often with the black women that fit into this criteria. I’m not a confrontational person truly if anything I have been the one people try to test cuz I’m too nice or I don’t speak loudly or whatever the case is so it’s upsetting how I have had to come out of character when dealing with these type of women cuz they don’t know or refuse to resolve things without an attitude or dang near always being ready to fight. “It be ya own people”

As a Latino man I've had my fair share of interactions with both peaceful and angry black women. I've lived up north and in the South. I so enjoy the love and warmth you feel from a black woman at peace in her heart, her insight and kindness is incredible. We need much more of that. However, it's all the same for the angry black women, they yell, curse and get in your face in an extremely aggressive manner and will fight you just to get you to back down it seems even if they're wrong. There's very little humility or grace on their part and even worse if they have their children with them those children are watching and learning that same disrespectful behavior and so the cycle is reborn in a new generation. In my opinion regardless of skin color human behavior is mainly learned from the environments we are in and we are hard wired from our childhood experiences. We can and should redefine ourselves to improve but that is a huge conscious choice and one that requires a lot of self reflection. I love and admire the black culture, like any other culture here in the USA or around the world there's areas where we can improve. For me the biggest is ending financial inequality everywhere. That type of oppression always breeds poverty and seems to go hand in hand with low education rates of all peoples in every country as Charles Booker says' "From the hood to the hollar!" Redistribution of wealth and open hearts and minds can fix everything. Peace and love.

In my opinion as an African, black women are fiery by nature. I have heard black American women make reference to African women as being too submissive or subservient to their men, but that has something to do with culture. Culture is a very important aspect of human society, cultural values exist for a reason, some of which can be good, some of which can bad. One example of good culture is the grooming of an African woman, which in my opinion makes a great distinction between African women and Black American women. African women who display loud and angry traits are considered to be "ungroomed" in most African societies.

It’s ironic. Black women are bitter and angry and always saying there isn’t enough good black men. And I’m the same conversation they are angry and yelling that they are strong and they don’t need no man! Blah blah blah. But they try to control who the black men want to spend their life with. I’m a white woman and my spouse is a black man. We are very happy and I’m very submissive to him. Black women could learn something about being submissive. And that is so right. Black women around the world are totally different. There was an interview about an African black woman saying that they are embarrassed by American black women. They rudeness, anger, thinking they have control over black men and calling them “their men”.

You sir nailed it. “Theatrical” is the perfect word. Not all, but most i have been around are like this with every emotion. I always thought it was a cultural thing & for attention. They seem to want their emotion for any circumstance to be taken acknowledged important. I suppose to your point of being marginalized as “black women” for having an attitude this is the result. We know the reason for this. When our government made the “black family unit” ( all for that matter later) a target of destruction ie with abortion & welfare, divorce court. They (black women) have been for the most part left to fend for themselves. It’s shameful. But i think focusing more on the correction for that root cause, & solving that issue amongst Americans in general is what we in our communities should be working on. Getting everyone off the government teat, restoring the family nucleus dynamic, by encouraging growth in faith based values that we live by. Principles our for fathers for generations lived & raised healthy families, functional children that became productive, rational adults with. Restoration of a 2 parent house hold, mom & dad, under Gods rule, (not government or anything else) is in my opinion & scientific study proven, the only way that seems to work. This has been a problem for all of every ethnicity. I would say though “black community” have suffered the most & longest of this problem. However, focusing on whos more the “victim” is keeping anyone from working of the answer. & more government, emotion justification & retaliation (social justice) is worsening the situation! May I suggest we all personally focus on solutions that are fruitful? Character, integrity, personal responsibility, & faith based principles we ourselves live by, not just claim to have. God bless every body.

Here’s a life tip that should help you immensely: The general population at large does not give a single f u c k about why you’re “angry”, why you have low self esteem, or why you feel such a sense of entitlement. Your demeanor is an enormous turn off, both professionally and when it comes to relationships. Most people, whether they vocalize it or not, have an innate inclination to avoid you at all costs. Yet, you still proceed as if going harder will change your outcome. It never will. Stay well.

As a white older man from the island of Bermuda, raised with 93% island black people, I've found it very difficult in most every way to deal with an American black lady. And I disagree blacks by nature would violate another's space with obnoxious actions. It's mostly American black women. My mixed daughter says she can't tell other black women that she's half black. Let's be honest, if they were so downed by society, wouldn't society yell at them and make laws to shut them up. Let's stop this chitty race card, it never ever ends. Opera didn't have any issues. But you've got an excuse for that... Stop saying, utterances of race stuff. I could go on listing the other side of that coin all day. Black president, black vice president, bla bla bla. You just keep spreading the hate narrative. And YES!!; If you go on an interview you act and show your best. That goes for everyone. Stop this jailed black thing now. So stop having 5 kids out from marriage as a single black women. Just stop. You changed from the title to the race card. Bla

True story: I was in San Francisco for a bachelorette party. Us ladies were staying in a very nice hotel. I get off the elevator and here a group of people loud or women talking. It sound like a group of females about to fight but I could not tell. I hit the corner and saw no one. I continued walking down the hall to reach my room and I can still hear the loud heyenas, I mean females talking loudly. I kept looking around to see if I saw anyone. I finally walked past a room next to our, and realized the chicks are in their own room talking extremely loud. They were so loud I heard these heffas from the elevator. I told my cousin about how loud the folks next to us were and she told me those were her brides maid in the other room. She was embarrassed of how loud they were and told me that's how they are. I was shocked because their voices echoed down the hall ways.

I am a black woman and was at a tavern and in come these decent looking young black women and they were so loud it was disgusting to me. A woman is suppose to carry herself with some kind of decorum. My daughter would never because I raised her to carry herself like a lady. I swear this behavior is attention seeking. These young ladies had to wait until they got into the tavern to tell their funny stories not in the car on their way to the tavern to crack up and be loud.

I've noticed that black women are not very feminine. This is a reason why a lot of black men migrate to other races. They see asian girls and white girls, for example, who look more feminine and they are attracted to that. I think just based on gender norms American black women are the most masculine females out of any race. However, you mentioned societal pressures which are a burden on American black women. So it's this cycle where they're treated very poorly and they get angry and there has always been the angry stereotype so the ball keeps rolling. I'm not sure what the fix is. Maybe black women here can take pointers from their African sisters. African women are very pretty and they make it a priority to dress up nicely. Perhaps if black women wore more jewelry and grew their hair out, they would be perceived as being more feminine. Again, this is subjective and I am 100% against stereotypes. This is just what I've seen.

Bran.. this good insight and I love it that you have given this thought 💭 for possible solutions. As you so eloquently stated, this will definitely continue from one generation to the next without change if it is not properly identified. Answers would be good to know, and the best place that they can come from is from black women. But the one thing that can start right away is fair treatment.

@@carl-dy1fe I don't think black women are ugly at all. I think many are beautiful. It hurts that European beauty standards have dominated the West. My dad is African-American and he keeps his hair short too because growing an Afro wouldn't look "professional" I think as America gets more progressive, and as socio-cultural norms change, African-Americans will simply get noticed more.

I have seen black women with good manners , etiquette & well maintained . They have a soft personality . This made me think we all have bad qualities but if we try , we can be anything. "Emotional maturity" is very important in any adult and not to get triggered. Manners is something everyone should cultivate. There's no excuse for bad manners. After you've become an adult , you don't blame instead take responsibilities. Victimhood can't help anyone , acceptance and working on oneself to be even better helps. Thats the reality of life.
