Playing at low health can make you very powerful. You can take advantage of many perks and mutations to do much more damage than normal and survive longer than you might expect. I'll show you how to successfully run a low health character.
Thanks to Bethesda for the review key. For more information on the game see game.page/fallout76thepitt/Se.... All opinions are the author's.

Once you taste the power of unyielding, it is hard to let go. You most likely say goodbye to power armor because you can't or won't wear it most of the time. And it is troublesome to deal with high radiation especially during Radiation Rumbling event. Beware, damage over time and robot nowadays are your nightmares :D

Bloodied build is opposite to the Vampiric PA juggernaut. Glass cannon vs undying robot man. I love them both, my newest character is the juggernaut my first was the bloodied build with god rolls on the fixer and railway rifle.

major reason i got into bloodied (the more damage you do the less you have to repair, have saved alot of junk and repair boxes)
@jeffbarnesyout
@jeffbarnesyout 11 месяцев назад
Hi. Very good explanation. You should mention that Endurance is not affected by Unyielding armor. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Luck affects the durability of weapons you pick up (and craft, I think?). I use a bloodied build all the time, and something I can recommend to avoid dying so much is to complement it with a Vampires weapon. Especially if the weapon outputs multiple projectiles (such as a shotgun) and has explosive damage in addition to ballistic damage (gauss weapons, for example), and I assume also it works better for high fire rate weapons than for slower ones. I combine Healing Factor mutation with a Vampire's gauss shotgun and the perks you mentioned so it's hard to kill me if I'm landing shots on enemies, and I almost never use stimpaks. A well put-together video that explains not just the reasons for using a bloodied build, but also how to use it, and even how to not use it when certain circumstances require. Thank you.
@SequentialGamerFallout
@SequentialGamerFallout 11 месяцев назад
Yeah, it would be nice to have unyielding also increase endurance but I guess that would make it too powerful LOL. But yeah, vampiric weapons are all about rate of fire. They always heal you the same regardless of how much damage you do. Holy Fire is a weapon I recommend as a must have for everyone.

Thing is as a bloody build you better have something to reduce extra incoming rads because ive killed the best of the best using nuka grenades so unless you have extra rads protection or don't use rads to avoid taking too much rads you won't die

The only real benefit to Bloodied in my opinion is experience gain is much higher - and I will run bloodied on double xp reasons to double down on that and collect a few perk coins, but at level 800 I just don't need levels anymore so I normally run full health. If you're on PC I strongly recommend running the improved health bars mod which will display your current health percentage. Notes on the video - the gamma gun is useless if you have the legendary perk what rads equipped. Get a scrapped assaultron head, preferably one with 90% weight reduction (other effects are irrelevant, it's a lousy weapon) for radding up. To rad down, Brahman milk. Bloodied weapons barely outclass anti-armored weapons these days. The enemies that present the greatest threat are mostly defended by armor. It's just not worth the hassle. When I run full health I will literally go weeks without dying. Most of my recent deaths have been from bugs or absurd levels of carelessness bloodied builds can only dream of getting away with.
@SequentialGamerFallout
@SequentialGamerFallout 11 месяцев назад
Anti-armour is very effective against the tougher enemies and I'd agree that only bloody is better. But how effective it is depends on the weapon. I personally wouln't bother stacking more than two types of anti-armour benefits. But I agree that it's definitely viable to play at full health.

@@SequentialGamerFalloutI’m level 200 on Xbox been playing since last year. I originally started with bloodies me and my friend. However, I noticed when you’re playing in a group, you die very frequently when doing stuff like daily ops. So I decided to become a full health t-65 build. Now the only thing that can remotely touch me is fire from the handy man, and poison, however I a lot of health based cards in endurance, and agility. I almost never die. However my potential to kill has drastically dropped, my carry weight goes down, and waste time playing as team medic instead of getting more kills & xp. It’s definitely a difference in play style! Id argue both are great! Just depending, however I’d love to run some of my build by you and see what is worth keeping and what isn’t for the dmg/health trade off, and I’m also trying to balance carry weight. my quad/50c/15r assaultron head disagrees. it hits for thousands of damage unspec'd and it is definitely not a lousy weapon. and yes bloodied weapons are overrated. i don't use bloodied weapons on my bloodied characters anymore. AA/Quad/Exec is the way perception/luck/agi boost is extremely important especially if you're using VATs. it isn't limited to commandoes but heavy weapons like gat plasma/LMGs/flamers/.50 cals etc are extremely deadly if your perception and luck stat is high. being full health means you have to consume stuff to boost those stats and it can be quite costly in the long run.

I'm on my second long-term playthrough. I eventually went to a Bloodied/Sneak/Rifle build. I started this time with the goal of eventually going to a PA Tank build but I ran into a big issue... I am a hoarder and I cannot seem to get my weight down to switch to PA. I lose the shielded under armor, I lose all my unyielding armor (almost all with carry weight buffs), and most of the heavy guns I would switch to are in my storage and gain a lot of carry weight on my character too. I do try re-rolling the PA to score carry weight buffs but it has been sloooow going lol With my bloodied/sneak/rifle build and some good cards I melt most stuff up to the scorched beasts, which still don't take long. Thanks so much for the in-depth guide! Will save now to check on as needed 😊

You're very welcome! For PA, I use the Union set and the extra carrying bonus and that gives me the most carrying capacity. Unyielding gear gives you more but Union is only about 100 or so lower with the leg mods. I generally play outside power armour but I sometimes break it out for more difficult daily ops and expeditions. It means I have that sprinting is out but the extra protection is worth it.

For new players: I’m Bloodied commando and it’s awesome, but it’s definitely a trade off. I can do a lot of damage, but I can’t take very much. Even with serendipity, blocker, and fireproof I still die a lot. I could use more cards to mitigate damage, but then I’d be reducing the damage I do, which isn’t worth it to me personally. I can’t get right in the Scorchbeast Queens face for example, but I can definitely wreck her health with VATS criticals to her head every 1-2 seconds. To take down the big bosses in the game or do the events with lots of waves of strong enemies you need a good mix of bloodied builds to deal damage and tank builds like overeaters/vanguard to tank damage.

Basically armour you buy for gold. Scout armour is basically end game gear. You can also buy the covert ops plans for gold but all it does is give you more stealth when in shadows. I believe that urban and forest scout can only drop randomly but they give you bonuses in their environments. As far as defensive values are concerned they're all the same. The other types are secret service and BOS. Both have better armour values but secret service is more even and BOS is better against bullets. I think there should be a genuine argument made between bolstering and OEs in terms of power armor. I think both work but should be used for different types of content. As a new player, right now ive got a full set of T-65 armor that im building a bolstering set on for general use, and atm i only have 3 of the 5 with that prefix. Because its only 3 parts my health is set to 30% and i dont have nerd rage on most of the time just to get used to the armors shortcomeings. But, ngl, that list is pretty short. Even without every required perk and 3 out of 5, the only time i ever continously die is on hard as balls daily ops. Ive never had issues with expeditions, and unless im literally thw only person doing scorched earth, the queen cant even kill me. Im also currently working on a hellcat OEs build, spacifically for the hardest daily ops and end game content, specifically because its the second best dmg resist power armor, and a 12% reduction to ballistic ammo. That being said, i do think both kinds of prefixes work very well, but they are needed for specific content in terms of power armor.
@SequentialGamerFallout
@SequentialGamerFallout 4 месяца назад
Yeah, generally you don't die unless it's a daily ops or an event with lots of mutations. For Bolstering vs Overeaters, damage resistance has a cap to how effective it is, the rule of thumb is that anything over 300 is pointless. Damage reduction has no such cap, although it loses effectiveness because it's multiplicative, so overeaters is the generally recommended legendary for power armour.
@DumaVadamee109
@DumaVadamee109 4 месяца назад
@@SequentialGamerFallout I'm not arguing that bolstering is better, Your correct in terms of survivability usage its far better then bolstering. However let's take a moment to look at the other side of this argument: which one is more practical? Power armor isnt a regular set of armor: you probably shouldn't use unyielding because, despite the upsides, it's not helpful for survivability, which is why you see alot of unyielding In stealth builds. I'm not saying you can't get mileage out of it in power armor, it just isn't practical for how PA is used. OEs is better then bolstering as well, but again is it more practical? You only ever really need it for hard content, and that only covers about 5% of the game, while the other 95% is general use, events, expeditions (unless they add a challenge mode I dont consitter it hard content), and story content. And, while it's a good idea to use for that 5% content, if you were to use it in all content I think the upkeep would be a bit of an issue. Firstly unless you've been around for a long time, most new and mid time players probably don't have water coolers or camp items that give non-irradiated food right off the get go, so constantly haveing to visit other player camps for those items, or having to visit westec regularly to fix rads from food and drink would kinda get old for me. And that not even mentioning mutations and builds that will affect hunger and thirst. Bolstering, however, In my opinion is the best set for the majority of content: it just strait up less damage. And again, yes while that amount isn't as good a OEs, with the right builds, legend roles, perk/legend perk cards, and armor mods like emergency protocol, you end up not dieing to the majority of the game. And, after all that building is done, you rarely have to think about extra steps unless your switching your perk cards for crafting or weapon usage.

@@DumaVadamee109 Yeah, Bolstering is not bad, I wasn't trying to say that it's useless or disagreeing with you. Ultimately any power armour is pretty good at keeping you alive so you don't have to go for an absolutely min-maxed approach. The one reason why I'd say to go for Overeaters over Bolstering is that to get a full set you need to deliberately re-roll legendaries. In that case you may as well go for the ideal. But if you get one or two pieces then Bolstering is probably better for the limbs that get covered. I wouldn't tell people to throw away their bolstering, if you play at low health it's a nice first star.

Jury is out for me. I have a bloody build with plasma caster and it hits as hard as you show.... But my full health stealthsuit commando puts out more damage faster (from stealth with a quad fixer and Sweetwater buffs) and the Stealthsuit Commando is a lot less effort to build. Plasma caster seems to be better on bosses but I think that's because my particular roll on it has Anti Armor? After working hard to get the perfect rolls, buying the armor plans with thousands of gold, just to kill a super mutant .05 seconds faster than I did before with booze from a robot and quest rewards :) Seems like there should be more of a noticeable difference.

Yeah, weapons make the biggest difference and yes anti-armour is more effective against powerful enemies like bosses because it reduces enemy armour by a percentage .. more armour means more armour reduced. About the stealth suit, I find that enemies find you pretty quickly at higher levels, unyielding is actually stealthier. But you're right that it's way easier to get LOL. IMHO all builds are equally viable and I'm currently making a video highlighting that. The big difference with unyielding is VATS, but if you don't use it then the difference is pretty small.

I would be interested in your experience with getting spotted with the stealth suit. My Rail rifle gives me away, but with Follow through my damage is so high nothing lives long after I open up. Bolstering gives you more damage resistance but resistance has diminishing returns. The rule of thumb I've heard is that after 300 DR you're not getting much benefit. Damage reduction is multiplicative so it starts to have less impact if you stack a lot of different modifiers, but it *always* has a benefit. That's why it's generally agreed that focusing on reduction rather than resistance is the better bet.

No dude it’s not lone wanderer gives you damage reduction OK damage reduction beats any kind of damage, resistance and equal or even greater amounts. Do you want damage reduction first like blocker for instance, negates 50% or 45% of all incoming melee damage just negates it it’s just gone Doesn’t you’re not resisting it there’s no chances it’s not conditional if something hits you with melee blocker is going to negate part of it just like emergency protocols. Also damage reduction 42% damage deduction on power armor. These are all not conditional. They simply reduce incoming damage. There’s no chance involved know some Wicom ricochet is a damage reduction bits chance based in mermaid not go off when it does go off it can reflect damage so something shoot you and it goes off. Damage will be reflected at the target in the form of your legendary affect with sushi exceptions like you don’t fill them with vampires, it heals you in any case damage reduction. You can entirely run around naked with nothing but damage reduction and a good player could survive specially if you have a vampire weapon and you’re using it
@billy_cross5580
@billy_cross5580 9 месяцев назад
Yeah that’s not the way ricochet works dude they don’t take 25% of their own damage they take 25% of whatever weapon damage you’re putting out when it ricochet is it ricochets with your legendary effects that’s why things like our vampires heal you and do damage back it down. It uses your legendary effect so if you’re bloody if you have a bloody weapon, it’s going to be hitting them with blood, but it is obviously diminishing amount of damage or a diminished amount of damage as a low health player using a blood weapon is not really that important between adrenal reaction and other stuff going on you should be running a vampire weapon then you will never have to worry about not reacting quick enough to hit a stem pack or something
