Why Boba Fett Looks So Different in Book of Boba Fett

He got the black robes from the Tusken Raiders, remember? His previous grey jumpsuit got torn up from combat, so he got a black jumpsuit from the Tusken.

I love how he doesn't actually answer the question of why, and instead restates what we already know.

He's missing his codpiece. Unlike Jango, Boba never wore greaves on his shins or thighs. Instead he has his dart firing knee pads. He's also got new boots so I guess we won't get to see him kick someone with the poison toe spikes on his old boots.

He is also missing the armor under his belt

I honestly really like the black coverings a lot better. It accentuates the colors of his armor much better and its design compliments his more bulky body. I also love the battle skirt hanging from the back. It’s a nice replacement to the cloth that hung from his shoulder.

Plus it looks like he got a bit… Bigger

He repainted his armor so and fixed most of the dents. He also got rid of a lot of extra battle trophies he carries.

His helmet is a physically different shape and now that I’ve seen it I can’t unsee it

I think its more the fact that he gained enough weight for his armor to net even cover his full Torso anymore

Personally, I think it is because we all got used to the amount of armor Mando has, and so when we see Boba, he’s now sorta “eh” because of how much less armor he has in comparison

I think the new black clothes is because in the show the tuskens gave him the full black coverings before they were killed, he keeps the stick as well and he obviously had a bond with them so he would wear the clothes they gave as he considered himself part of the tribe

Always liked the grey jumpsuit under the armor in the OT better. The black sticks out

The Tuskens were definitely feeding him well when he was living in the desert.

This messed my brain up with trying to figure out the time line from being in the sarlack to joining the raiders to getting his amor back and finally becoming a crime boss

I actually like how he wears a mixture of his own armor and the garbs he was gifted from his tusken tribe

My favourite thing about book of boba fett is how his mercy and kindness pays off when the night wind tried to assassinate him his gammoreon guards dragged him to the Bancta tank and mods helping him it pays off for him

He didn't get fat, the robes he wears from the tuskens just makes him look thicker

I’ve seen clips of the show.After boba crawled from the sarlacc,he passed out,and his armor was stolen by Jawas.He was then imprisoned by a Ruskin raider tribe whom he later befriended.His clothes were changed to black robes by the tuskens,as his previous wear was a tattered and weathered white bodysuit.

He is also fatter now.

I want a video comparing Jangos set and bobas set of armor, I know it’s supposed to be the same but why would boba lose so much of the armor

He also wears his cloak underneath instead of his classic eggshell white shirt underneath. This robe also goes further down and creates the hanging cloth on his back which reaches down to his legs which since we cant see his legs from the back, it gives the illusion that hes actually just wearing garments and not armor

I think that changing his design even a little was a shot in the foot, people liked Boba Fett because of his whole design, he had no backstory so he just looked cool AF, the new design isn’t bad, but the classic one is way more iconic and cool

Fett wasn't filmed for Ep. IV until the first update release in the late 90's. He was superimposed into the original Jabba scene filmed in the 70's.

it would have been better if they actually just hired the same actor that played the young Boba in the attack of the clones movie, he might not look exactly the same as Temuera, but you can still buy he is the same unaltered clone of Jango

I remember he at one point was missing one of the original knee pieces after the sarlac. It's kinda funny because the original suit from the original trilogy was known for having the knees pop off really easily.

I actually really like his new look. His tusken clothes shows how he respects the tusken raiders and his armor covering it shows how he’s still has his skills as a legendary bounty hunter. The show was overall just ok. But I really hope they give it another season with better writers and directors

Well there's also the fact that Temuera Morrison is about 62 years old, he was in his 40s when he played Jango Fett so reprising his role for the show would mean we have to expect he's gonna look different. Fun fact Ming-Na Went who plays Fennec Shand is about 59 years old....they both look pretty damn good for their ages. Despite all this I do hope they have an in universe reason why Bobba seems to have aged so much since the show takes place only a few years after ROTJ. He was only a boy (maybe around 10 or 11) in The Clone Wars which takes place just over 20 years from a New Hope I believe. And before anyone says "Bobba's a clone and clones age faster" just remember he's an unaltered clone, which would imply he ages normally. By all accounts Bobba should be in his 40s in Book of Bobba. Anyway it's a small insignificant detail since the show is still awesome regardless.

Tbh woulda been better if he took on cob vanth as a partner or student with him as a mentor. That way they could justify him being bigger and older. They can still have him take the armor back and come out of retirement, atleast this way it makes sense that he's older and different

I think the difference people are noticing is because you can’t see his neck because of the robe. We’re used to seeing the helmet stand which gives it that iconic mandolorian look. That’s why the look feels so different. I still love the new look though

In the chamber scene his knee armor is just upside down. They werent paying attention when they put it on. It's the same armor throughout ESB.

His new armor are more like armored robes where his old set was full mandalorian armor

I understand that he needs to have robes to pay homage to the tuskens. What I propose is that he drops the black, goes back to his original outfit from the OT, and then wear white tusken robes on top of the armor like a cloak
