I do something similar with sticks and pvc pipes when I am not able to use weights. When you squeeze really hard while moving the stick around really slow and then really fast it does the same thing that overcoming isometrics does. You can also do it by simply clenching you hands into fists and squeezing really hard, keeping the muscles contracted while you move your arms through the air and it will do this. I've done this before as well.

This is what Nautilus circuit training does. The machines are different than weight lifting training where the pushing is one dimensional. Nautilus machines have resistance pushing and holding the weight as it returns to starting position. You get isometric training this way. I found it increased my stamina using one round of 12 to 15 machines, as different machines isolates each muscle group.

@@adim00lah they target the tendons more because you are putting them under tension over a longer ROM with a stretch as well. Isometrics are limited in this regard. You started right, but you made wrong conclusion, it doesn’t tain fast twitch, it trains your tendons making your body a lot stronger without visible increase in muscle volume. But the strength you get is slow - you’re getting hard frame, good at pulling/pushing things, bending, but not at fast dynamic movements. You have to train fast movements additionally, like he did, to develop fast twitch.

Bruce Lee wanted to curl his bodyweight that's why calisthenics is so good to do it doesn't matter how many push-ups you do you won't push the earth down or how many pull-ups you do you won't break the bars just think about it being able to curl your bodyweight that would be super human strength if you weigh 180 pounds curl that weight for a few reps you would have crazy arms size

I believe one of the first bodybuilder or strongmen of the late 1800's actually trained like that. He would push against immovable objects.

Only when he didn’t have anything else, I think he did this in prison. But that’s not how he got strong to start

Bruce Lee was a good actor raised in Seattle who spoke with a fake Chinese accent. This accent accompanied by his intense stare and his deep conviction made his words and philosophies more powerful. The media helped him become a larger than life sensation by staging events such as the deadly one finger punch, him playing ping pong using a nunchuk, etc. His movies were one of a kind. His martial arts talents are debatable
