Caitlin made the correct call as the difference in men's vs women's basketball weight is 20%. Now, 20% of the 22 foot 3 point line is about four feet while the rim is only 18 inches. Her catch and shoot muscle memory would likely be lost, passing distance also would change.

Having just checked the roster of the teams, Clark would almost certainly get hosed; it'd be a publicity stunt for BIG3 that would very publicly damage Clark's own brand.

There is a lot of women in the WNBA that will take his offer, but he’s not offering it to them

It's a very smart not to take that offer, unless they made some exceptions to who could guard her like only another female player, then she would look very bad against these former NBA pro male players. I love Caitlin Clark and what she did in college and what she will do for the WNBA if they let her, but against male pro players and their size and muscle it would not be fair at all.

The shorter term contract is nothing compared to what she got from her sponsorship deal. You never know in professional sports when you could get injured. I would assume that risk of injury in playing against massive ex NBA players is much higher.

The commissioner of the WNBA was at a function and mentioned the mainstream media totally got it wrong about how much Caitlin Clark would make. She said with bonuses and actual stock options as well as other things, she could up to $500,000 in WNBA wages just in her first year.

playing 10 games of 3 on 3 is too much too handle, get out of here. She probably didn't want to get embarrased playing in the Big 3 with NBA veterans. which is a smart decision on Clark, it could ruin her brand. she's already made millions with endorsements.

I think it's better that she turned it down

One, who dream since being a little girl was to play WNBA. I don't think she would choose anything that would not allow her to give it her 100% attention. She wants to play in the Olympics someday. Doing 3 on 3, does not help her get there. I think she protects her brand by not playing 3 on 3. You also have the logistics of playing 2 leagues which would be too much I think for just about anyone. Also, there is more chance for her to get injured in playing the 3 on 3 against the men. Lastly, she has number of endorsements all ready, giving her the freedom to pick and choose. Weighing this all up, she has made the right choice for her.

That's alot of money, but of course it's not worth Caitlin risking getting herself injured by one of those men who are much physically stronger than she is. Just based on logic it's fair to play with players mostly close to your height. I'm a 5'10 guy and you won't see me playing basketball with a bunch of players 6'4 and over. As much as I'm not a fan of the WNBA, to be honest at least Caitlin is less likely to suffer a serious injury there. After all she stayed healthy during her incredible college basketball career.

Yes she should take the offer

I am overwhelmed by the obvious. Size! Weight! Speed! The guys playing in the Big 3 would be disadvantaged because of hurting themselves trying to hold back so as to not hurt Catlyn.

She's looking at the bigger picture no doubt and thinking long-term.

Uh, because she’d be playing against men who played pro ball, which would be incredibly foolish. She would be a small fish in a big pond instead of being the biggest fish in a currently small pond and increasing the size of the pond for every other player, making herself a legend in the process.

She could play in the Big #3 and do good. I respect her decision. She's already rich. Just play in the WNBA for now and see how it goes. Plus she could get hurt in the Big 3 why risk it. She's a baller. Love me some Caitlin.

Trying to play in both leagues doing the same time frame. Would not be good. The main reason is ball size. The balls are not the same.

It’s easy she’s making over 5 million a year to play in the WNBA. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that or she would not have turned down 5 million for 10 exhibition games of 3on3 basketball. Most people don’t get that Nike contract is not just 28 million. That’s just the base yearly salary without the royalties included which is a standard 5% for signature shoe deals but it’s negotiable so it could be more. In CC’s case I believe she negotiated a higher royalty percentage because the yearly salary is very low for her popularity and she knows she’s going generate a billions or near it in sales which will in turn pay her tens or hundreds of millions yearly not just the 3.5 million. Now, it’s also no way she decided to play in the W for 75K a year knowing she going generate hundred of millions for the league this year and not get a piece. The league and its partners will funnel her real salary for next 4 years thru endorsement deals and probably the main one was Gainbridge the same company that convientlty has the naming rights to the arena she will play her home games in. It was no coincidence that she signed an endorsement deal with them right after she announced she was turning pro. So how much are they paying her? Let me guess know one knows 😂 Fans need to learn business CC is very smart and a marketing major in college. She understands business and she knows her worth and value she is not getting short changed. But she is also smart enough to know that she can’t let her actual earnings become public knowledge. Whats interesting is no one truly knows what she earning with her endorsements even in college. That 3 million was an estimate and very low one IMO. Even this Nike deal is not a known fact just released speculation know one truly knows. What we do know is CC knows that she generates hundreds of millions if not billions in revenue with ticket, merchandise, and tv advertising. So, she is not going to settle for 75k + 3.5 million a year period! Theres just no way in hell she did that. I have zero doubts that Caitlin is making 50 -100 million in yearly earnings. And that will exceed a 100 million by next year or whenever her signature shoe is releases for sure. MJ makes 200-300 million from Jordan royalties each year (5%). Caitlin with her fan demographics will easily generate a billion in sales revenue yearly for her shoes & merchandise. That’s why she did care about 5 million a year from the Big 3. That’s not even a dent in her true yearly earnings which of course are not known. 😂

If money was her focus then she would have taken the $15 million and run. But money is not her focus, rather it is playing, with a team and competing for something worthy of an entire seasons play. Money alone won't satisfy Caitlin.

Plain and simply Clark is a person of values and the Big 3 offer most likely doesn't align with her values and goals. It's not always about money. Cube is just trying to create buzz and capitalize off her popularity to leverage bigger tv contracts.

Rach put hersel out there for the Big three! They need to taker her up on it, she’s a star, with a huge following. Rach can ball & it’s only 10 games a season with plenty of recovery time. Give Rach that 15 million, she deserves it.

As a basketball fan I would love to see her cook in BIG3 but I can also understand why she wouldn't. If she dominates she won't get any credit because those players aren't NBA level and if she struggles against male players then it potentially compromises her brand. And those amateur players are going to play extra rough against her because they're afraid of being humiliated. She just signed a 28 million dollar Nike deal too, why risk it against nameless male players when she can be the Serena Williams of Women's Basketball?
